Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love, or “Philly” as referred to fondly by a lot of people, has found its place among our hearts for various reasons. There is the historic liberty bell, a symbol of American freedom; Independence National Historical Park, the site where The Liberty Bell is found; Philadelphia Museum of Art, made famous by Sylvester Stallone in his well-known hit film “Rocky” and many more. Along these lines, it is interesting to note that there is one other major item that has immortalised the flavour of Philadelphia forever. Yes! It is indeed the Philly cheese steak. This dish has a history stretching back to more than 9 decades. To get a gist of the history, the Philly cheese steak was first founded by Pat and Harry Olivieri.
They were hot dog vendors who discovered the steak sandwich one day quite by accident. It started off as they added chopped beef and grilled onion onto an Italian roll. A cab driver passing that way tried it out and found that it was delicious and advised them to get into sandwich business instead of their original hot dogs business. That proved to be a turning point. This led to the opening of Pat’s King of steak. Originally the sandwich did not contain cheese. It was only later that the manager of Pat’s King of steak, Joe Lorenza inserted that into the sandwich, thereby creating the signature dish of Philadelphia.

The sandwich has been modified
and has many varieties now. It is being sold all over the city in small carts,
food trucks, independently owned family business and even in high end
restaurants. Outside Philadelphia it is commonly called as the Philly cheese
steak sandwich.
In the city of brotherly love, the two most famous outlets for cheesesteak sandwiches are Pat’s King of steak and Geno’s Steaks. They both have been having a friendly rivalry since the year 1966 (when Geno’s Steaks was established). There are some versions of history which claim that it was in fact Geno’s that first put the cheese in the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. However, the popular belief is still that Pat’s King of steak was the outlet that inserted the cheese into the steak sandwich to make it the cheese steak sandwich.
There are also certain methods of
ordering the steak at the various outlets. For instance at the outlet of Pat’s
King of steak you have to say if you want the onions or not first, and then you
have to specify the type of cheese that you would like to have. So, supposing
you want to order a cheesesteak sandwich at Pat’s King of steak, with onions
and provolone cheese, you would have to say, “With, provolone.” This short form
is used because of the huge lines which are a staple feature of the outlet that
prevent the possibility of any small talk with the staff at the counter.
Ingredients used:
The usual ingredients used for
the Philly cheese steak include the following:
Meat
The meat that
is usually used for the sandwich is rib-eye or top round steak. However, other
cuts of beef are also often used and these are, Top Sirloin, the T-bone,
tri-tip roast and flank steak to name a few.
Bread
The authentic
cheese steaks of Philadelphia have Amoroso rolls in their sandwiches. These
rolls are long soft and lightly salted. However, other Italian rolls and breads
may also be used upon the unavailability of these rolls. Two other type of
bread rolls used are Aversa and Vilotti-Pisanelli.
Cheese:
The most
commonly used cheese in the Philly cheese steak sandwich are American cheese,
Provolone and Cheez Whiz. Cheez Whiz was much later addition by the 1960s due
to its unavailability by the 1930s, when the steak sandwich was originally
found.
Joey Vento,
owner of Geno’s (major competitor of Pat’s King of steak), makes a clear point
that Provolone is the best cheese that may be used for the cheesesteak
sandwich. They highly recommend it and have made a strong statement saying that
it is the real cheese. Pat’s King of steak have used the Cheez Whiz as a way of
bonding between the outlet and the customers. The high speed processed cheese
had already become a staple at every household owing to its easy to handle
nature and parents found fixing their kids’ lunch a much simpler and faster
process with the help of Cheez Whiz. According to the statistics of Pat’s King
of steak, they have an overwhelming ratio of eight to ten Cheez Whiz sandwiches
sold for every American cheese cheesesteak sandwich at their shop.
Apart from these there are
various other additions that are added to the sandwich. These addition include,
sautéed or grilled onions, mushrooms, chili sauce, tomato sauce, bell peppers,
mayonnaise mustard sauce, etc. These additions are based on people’s choice and
preferences.
Preparation steps:
The method of preparation of the cheesesteak sandwich is as follows:
1. Meat Preparation
The steak is cut into thin slices and placed on the pan. The slices are to be thin to allow the meat to cook much easily and quickly. The meat slice is cut into pieces using a spatula or a meat knife as it cooks. This should be done over a high flame. The meat should not be overcooked. As it cooks over a high flame use the spatula to quickly cut it into small pieces. The whole process of cooking the meat should take around 30 seconds to a maximum of a minute.
2. Additions
Simultaneously, as the meat cooks, onions and any other vegetable of choice of vegetable is to be sautéed in a pan. This process is to be done over a medium to low flame. The skillet is to be coated with a thin layer of oil and the onions should be placed first. Stir occasionally. Bell peppers (if needed) may be added to the pan. Both the vegetables have to sautéed until they are translucent. Salt should be added as per taste.
3.Meat Mixed With The Vegetables
The vegetables are placed on the meat which has been cooking simultaneously on another pan. They have to be arranged in a long line. The size of the meat should roughly be the size of the bread loaf that you have chosen to use for the sandwich.
4. Cheese Addition
The cheese is
then placed on the meat as it cooks, allowing the cheese to melt into the meat
to add texture and flavour to the meet. The cheese added may be provolone
cheese slices or may be other forms that include mozzarella, American cheese,
etc. Further, if so chosen by the customer, the cheese may not even necessarily
be in the form of slices. Rather, they can be melted into liquid cheese and
added to the sandwich at the plating stage.
The provolone
and American cheese is usually in the form of slices. These may be used by
placing on the meat and vegetables to melt and sizzle for around 30 seconds to
about a minute on a medium to high heat. The other way to cook the provolone
may be to place it on the vegetables and meat along a line and then to turn off
the heat. This way the cheese will sizzle and melt on the meat and vegetable
mixture using the latent heat. This is also used to make sure that the cheese
does not get burnt by mistake while making the sandwich.
In case the
Cheez Whiz is being used, then there are two different ways to add the cheese
to the sandwich.
The cheese can be spread on the bread before the meat and vegetables are scooped into it. This will help in giving a crispness in the texture of the bread.
The other method that maybe used is, as already mentioned melting the cheese. The Cheez Whiz is melted through a microwave and then the liquid cheese is spread on the sandwich by using a spatula. In case melted Cheez Whiz is used for the sandwich, then the onions which are grilled / sautéed can also be added on top of the cheese which is spread on the sandwich for a better texture.
5. Bread
The bread (roll) of choice has to be cut across partially. The bread should then be placed on the steak and vegetables that are being sautéed on the pan. Using a spatula, the meat and vegetables should be flipped onto the bread along with the cheese (if already added onto the pan). If the cheese is not added on the meat-vegetable mixture but rather kept in the liquid form nearby, then it should be scooped onto the sandwich.
6. Other Add-ons:
As mentioned earlier, the sandwich may be further customised by adding mayonnaise, mustard sauce, mayonnaise mustard sauce, hot sauce, ketchup etc. Though not part of the original recipe of Philly cheese steak sandwich, these additions have been improvised by the various different outlets that have come up more recently.
Now, you are all set for the delicious dummy bites. Enjoy your hand made food and pat yourself with happiness.
How much did that job cost you that you recently bought for your child? What cost? The cost do you put up on education? I didn’t buy a job, I sent my child to study. Why study? For education!
Education! What do you understand by this? Let me tell you. When you hear the word education, when you realize that your child is growing up and will need it, you will eventually start making an excel sheet of family expenses in your mind and eventually, you will start planning to cut off on unimportant or less important expenses. Isn’t it true that in India, we all think of education as spoon-feeding to our children depending on how much we can spend? When you think of education, do you not think of it as money that you have to spend to buy your child a job? No, these facts cannot be denied because this is the current status of education. It is so true that your child will only get a good job if he or she makes it to a good government college. If not government, then it has to be the highest paying private college.
Are we really buying jobs?
Yes, the jobs are actually being bought by parents for their children and the cycle goes on. There’s no loophole to it. It’s so true that today, we rush to be number one in the competition but with this, we will only be able to do good for ourselves. Eventually, with the current education system running in the country, the nation’s future is doomed.
What is education?
My dear people, education is not just a race to win jobs. It is not a race in your community to get your son/daughter into the best school of the city. It is also not the number of degrees your child holds. Education is knowledge. Your child is only educated when on being asked about anything from his or her domain gives the exact answer.
Literacy is not education!
When we talk about education, we usually misunderstood it by literacy. We think that when a child learns to read and write one’s own name, it’s education. No, it’s literacy and the literacy rate of our country is growing but the status of education is going down year by year.
What’s the main cause?
Why is it so? It’s not because of the parents that spoon-feed education to their kids but it is because of the employers too. They pick up the cream layer from highly ranked education institutions and leave the rest to rot. This cream layer is the competition. Everyone wants to be on the top anyhow. Students these days do not remember what they wrote in the examination an hour after it and get good grades. What do you understand by this? The system is going in the wrong direction.
Change the way you practice education people!
Employers should change the way they hire and give chances to everyone. They may fire the ones who do not work accordingly but at least give them a chance.
We cannot clearly say that schooling is done nicely. The government schools do not provide good education to the poor, middle-class students get to lower-ranked private schools with no futures and the upper-class students only get the best education. The best here is actually for the quality. If you are not spending a minimum 10k on your child’s education per month, you’re wasting your money.
In India, education is a business. It is important for principals to take care of the ambiance and maintain good quality furniture to show to the chairperson but it is not important for them to buy good books for the children.
The only way this can be changed is by initiating at personal levels. Employment situations are getting worse day by day and we all need employment in the near future. Most of the degree holders are now jobless and it is all because of the rush and unnecessary race.
Do we not agree that we all are artists in one way or another? Why not practice the art and become better at our respective levels and perform it. Why not make our hobby our profession? Why not become a dance teacher, open singing classes, take tutions or start a cooking class? Why not think out of the box? Why only rush for a desk job? Why not start small? Remember, every successful business now was once a small initiative.
Dear parents, tell your child to practice that drawing she loves or the football he loves to play. Tell them to bring the best out of them. Take them to places they can showcase their talents. Teach them to be fearless. Do not make them rot and rush for a desk job which is not even their choice.
The only way we can save our nation’s unemployment problems is by bringing the artist out of ourselves. Practice the art we are best at and no one will be able to hold us back. Only the passion turned profession can be the saviour of our doomed future.
Education system of India teaches us a lot but not all of us want to be taught that. This is one major reason of being deprived of education. If you want to learn, learn the things you love. If you are passionate about something, go deeper and deeper into it. Don’t look back at the big mouths that utter nothing important. Don’t fall into the false trap of the society. No job is big or small, it’s the mentality that is compared by size.
Lastly there’s this thing that we all need to keep in mind, Education is not spoon feeding. It is not throwing money to buy jobs. Life is not a race. Always remember that earning less and satisfactorily is way better than earning 6 figures and yet not being happy about it. What would you do to a life where you start working at 9 and end up tired and stressed for the next day at 11? Yes, it will bring you money but will you take that money to your grave? No one does. What counts is how happy we are when we are alive.

The power of imagination is one of the best treasures that a human mind is bestowed with. If only you can value it and let itself unleash, you will fathom the incredible potential it possesses. And do you know the best thing about imagination? It is not betrothed to any rules or confinements. Your mind is not restricted to think and imagine only in a specific way; you do have infinite dimensions and possibilities to touch and feel, only if you realize how tremendous it is.
Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it, we go nowhere. – Carl Sagan
Albert Einstein has also beautifully described the power of imagination as: “Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.” Do you remember how as a child you could travel to different places and could become a different person in seconds? Childhood was indeed a time when the power of your imagination was at its peak. You could do anything and become everything you wished. No boundaries! Isn’t it? But as you grew up, your environment, your circumstances and the society altogether planted several limitations deep within your mind, which some kind of bridled your imagination to only a certain level. And apart from only a small section of the society comprising of authors, painters, actors, singers, and other artists, imagination eventually lost its way and faded within people’s minds. Isn’t it sad to see such an incredible asset in you die with time?
Power of imagination – How it works
The mechanics of imagination is still not understood completely by scientists. Researchers have found that there are 12 different regions in the brain involved in the imagination of a shape in the human mind. These are the same regions that help us to perceive the world around us. This is why your imagination is always molded in accordance with whatever you see around you all the time. In addition to the surroundings, your memory also plays a significant role in shaping your imagination.
Power of imagination – The fifth dimension
Rod Serling, a renowned American screenwriter has quoted, “There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man … a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.” Once you unleash this space, a new dimension of you will emerge.” There are many ways and techniques using which you can unlock your power of imagination. I have listed 5 great ways that will help you tap into the fifth dimension of existence, as mentioned by Serling, i.e. kick-start your very own imagination.
Read
All the readers out there, you need not need to be told about this, as you know this very well how it works. Where was the last place you traveled to? Perhaps a wonderland, a sanctuary, or some kinda castle! But those who are not into this subtle habit of reading, I would like to aware you of the dimensions those yellow-tinted pages can take you into; dimensions where there are limitless possibilities waiting for you. So click on the escape button of your mind and break free from this living reality for a little while.
Freewriting
Take a deep breath and close your eyes for a minute. Notice the first thing that comes to your mind. Catch that thought and note it down into your journal. Now write whatever that comes to your mind, reading that particular thought. You can write whatever you know about the thought, an association, a memory or a story. Sometimes your mind may divert from the thought and move somewhere else. Don’t stop it. Let it wander free. Everything is okay as long as you imagine. But don’t forget to jot it down.
Daydream
Edgar Allan Poe says, “They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night.” Daydreaming is an art that unbottles up your imagination to higher possibilities. Imagine you go to the market to buy some vegetables. Just observe the vegetable vendors striving out there. What is their life like? How would they be managing their family and themselves? Are they fortunate enough like you? Think about their lives. Once you observe something and begin the thought process, your mind will run wild into the dimension of your imagination.
Playing games was perhaps the best part of our childhood, and nobody needed to remind us to actually do this. Do you remember the different personalities that you had role-played when you were, say 7 years old? I used to run through a whole lot of adventures with my cousins by imagining the ‘what next’ of our story-game. But our adult-selves need a quick reminder that we can still play games even if not by the old ways. You can just stir your imagination with some brain games or puzzle games for a start.
Meditate
What can be the best technique to tap your imagination than exploring your own inner self! If not you, then who! Meditation is a profound aspect of your life that you can try to unleash the power of your imagination. It is more of an adjective than a verb. If you manage to experience this blissful state even for a nanosecond, your imagination will reach beyond your thought limit. Trust me; it is the best thing that can ever happen to you.
Benefits of having a good imagination
The first and foremost benefit is that a good imagination enhances your problem-solving skills, which you can apply frequently in your day-to-day life, for a better way of living.
An imaginative person creates more neurons in his/her brain which helps preserve their memory for a longer period of time. Studies say that people with greater imagination are 73 percent less likely to suffer from memory problems that most often leads to dementia.
As long as you are distant from the ultimate truth of your existence, life is all about a labyrinth of illusions. The human mind has the power to solve it, even though unaware of it. And your imagination plays a massive role in it.
Without learning anything to live a long life means you had spoiled your life. You’ll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you’ll be a wise person. Therefore, entrepreneurs must realize that sometimes it is necessary to face difficulties in life to become successful. And never giving up is the only way to become successful in life. Additionally, If you want to be successful like these genius persons then you should first read their story to enhance your inspirational power. They are some of the most well know Celebrities and Businessmen we all know and love – who have created memorable Indian rags to riches story.

Due to the failure of his first venture, Narayana Murthy joined Patni Computer Systems and worked there for about five years. Along with six software professionals team, he once again founded Infosys in 1981 and a meager capital provided by his wife Sudha Murthy. Today Infosys is nothing but India’s fifth-largest publicly traded company and the third-largest Indian based IT Services company.
Narayana Murthy was not that person who born with a silver spoon in his
mouth; in fact, he had to work extremely hard to reach the top. He was born on
August 20, 1946, in Mysore, Karnataka. He came from a poor but educated family.
At childhood days, Narayana Murthy was an academically brilliant and
active student. He was passionate about Mathematics and Physics and always had
the thirst and the desire to gain more knowledge in these fields.
Hence, he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Mysore and later, received his Master’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
From a young age, his dream was to start his own business venture. Narayana Murthy started his career as a chief systems programmer at IIM Ahmedabad. He then founded a company called Softronics, which failed after 1.5 years of its inception.
Due to the failures at an early age, he did not give up his dream of
being an entrepreneur. He learned from his previous mistakes and decided to
start afresh in 1981. In the year 1981, he and his further six professionals
have collected 10,000 together to form a company named “Infosys”.
The professional team also support to keep the interests of the company
ahead of their own interest. And each of the team members brought complementary
strengths to the company.
Today, Narayan Murthy’s name listed close to the side of Steve Jobs and
Bill Gates. and his name is listed as one of the greatest entrepreneurs all the
time. In 2000, he was awarded Padma Shri by the Government of India for his significant
contribution to the country’s IT sector and economy. In 2008, he was awarded
Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award.
In 2011, when Narayana Murthy took retirement, the company went through
tumultuous times. Cost-cutting was evident and the performance of the company
deteriorated.
On June 1, 2013, Narayana Murthy was called out of retirement to lead
the company once again. Narayana Murthy will turn 67 this year and he has taken
up the challenge to bring the company back on its feet.
Currently, Narayan Murthy is at the position of an Additional Director
and the Executive Chairman of the Board with the company. He is closely working
with the top management team to come up with incentives such as giving higher
salaries to top performers which helps to improve the performance of the
company.
This is a true example of loyalty, commitment, and dedication. Narayan
Murthy can live with a luxurious life but he refused it, after his retirement,
He is the person who willing to sacrifice his luxuries to revive the company.
Being born into a poor family did not stop Narayana Murthy from pursuing
his dreams. We can learn from Narayana Murthy’s determination on how to succeed
in life – If one can put his mind and heart to education and career no one can
stop him from rising.
You can’t blame your failures if you have to face a lack of financial
resources. Once William Shakespeare said, “It is not in the stars to hold our
destiny but in us.” Similarly, only because of born into a poor family does not
mean that he will remain poor and unsuccessful for the rest of his life.
If we have strong beliefs and passionate about changing our future one day our dreams will definitely come true. Life is full of challenges. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes in our life but it is important to learn from them at the right time of your age and rise in our academic and professional lives.

The most awaited step by the Modi government was taken on 5th August by removing article 370 from Kashmir. Now, India will have Jammu and Kashmir as one union territory with Ladakh as another. Basically, the amendment of the article is a big step but do we know the impact it puts on the Kashmiris? Everyone is in shock, but mostly, the Kashmiris. The rules they had been following for a long time are now changed. It’s really difficult to understand Kashmiri people without going too deep. Ok, so we will talk about article 370. Wait! Do we even know what it was before the removal of article 370? No? Here, read it.
History of Jammu and Kashmir (basically why they had to apply article 370 and 35A)
After Independence, the Indian Union was incorporated to the small princely states. Even before the process of joining Jammu and Kashmir into the Union of India, Pakistan-backed tribesmen attacked it. At that time King Hari Singh of Kashmir was the King of Kashmir. He proposed the accession of Kashmir to India.
It was not so much time that the constitutional process of merger of Kashmir into India could be completed. In view of the situation, Gopalaswami Iyengar presented the draft of 306-A, which later became Article 370, in the Federal Constituent Assembly. In this way, Jammu and Kashmir got different rights from other states of India.
What are the rights:
People from other states of India can not buy land in Jammu and Kashmir.
Section 360, which imposes financial emergency, does not apply to J & K.
There is a separate flag of Jammu and Kashmir.
India’s Parliament can not make any law other than defense, foreign affairs and communications in Jammu and Kashmir.
Section 356 is not applicable, the President does not have the right to sack the state’s constitution.
If a girl from Kashmir marries an outsider, her citizenship of Kashmir will be lost.
Jammu and Kashmir cannot be under President’s rule.
35 A was the rule of king Hari Singh
This is in the constitution of J&K which is also a part of the Constitution of India.
● Maharaja Hari Singh was not ready to merge without 35A. This has been discussed in the Indian Parliament while Sardar Patel and Shyamaprasad were alive.
Why came 35A:
Maharaja Hari Singh did not want the people of British India to buy land in J&K. British were never given land.
The main reason is to end Zamindari in J&K
35A gives land of landlords to farmers
Lakhs of acres of land were distributed till 1950-73
Landless farmer is only 2% in J&K
Landless farmer in India is 23%
BPL is less than 10% in J&K
Even today the landmine is behind the removal of 35A.
To remove 35A consent of J&K Assembly of J&K Constituent Assembly is required. The court cannot do anything.
The Supreme Court has been petitioning for the removal of 35A since 2014 .. Modi has not given any affidavit against the 35A despite the Supreme Court repeatedly saying
If Modi dares, then file an affidavit against 35A in Supreme Court pass a resolution to remove 35A in Lok Sabha.
Changes after the removal of article 370 and 35A:
16% reservation is given to minorities.
RTE is applicable.
Same constitutional practices are applicable.
Outsiders from the state can buy property.
Girls can get married outside the are and still have their ownership of the state.
Same tricolor flag will be hoisted.
Article 370 of the Indian Constitution gave special status to the region of Jammu and Kashmir. The article was drafted in Part XXI of the Constitution: provisional, transitional and special provisions. The Constituent Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir, after its establishment, was empowered to recommend articles of the Indian Constitution which should be implemented in the state or Article 370 should be repealed altogether. Later the Jammu and Kashmir Constituent Assembly formulated the constitution of the state and dissolved itself without recommending repeal of Article 370, the article being considered a permanent feature of the Indian Constitution.
With this Article 35A defined that the residents of the state of Jammu and Kashmir live under a different set of laws, relating to citizenship, property ownership and fundamental rights, as compared to residents of other Indian states. As a result of this provision, Indian citizens of other states cannot buy land or property in Jammu and Kashmir.
On August 5, 2019, President of India Ram Nath Kovind, canceling the order of 1954 issued a constitutional order and implemented all provisions of the Indian Constitution on Jammu and Kashmir. This order made Article 370 and Article 35A of the Indian Constitution ineffective.
Home Minister Amit Shah moved a resolution in the upper house of Parliament, the Rajya Sabha, demanding the separation of the state with Jammu and Kashmir as a union territory and Ladakh region as a separate union territory.
Reading the above, we realise how good a decision it was by the Modi government for our nation. Those who complain about his foreign trips got a tight slap with this. Our prime minister is heartily congratulated for the bold decision taken by the government regarding Kashmir.
This is the time to be careful. It would be good to pay attention to the following things-
1. Harassing behavior should be avoided.
2. It is a time to be careful not to celebrate the festival – dispensing sweets, playing drums etc., lighting lamps or avoiding fireworks.
3. There is a need to be highly alert.
4. Report any unusual movement to the police
6. Maintain mutual brotherhood better than ever from all religions.
5. Under any circumstances, every society should stand unitedly and stand up for the country.

Today we are going to talk about the popular film Mission Mars. A teaser of the famous film ‘Mission Mangal’, has just been released. Akshay is enjoying the role of scientist, Rakesh Dhawan who was the most man behind the complete mission. The teaser of ‘Mission Mangal’ displays Akshay counting down for the launch of the satellite. Together, the teaser shows the other characters. Vidya Balan is seen as Tara Shinde in the film ‘Mission Mangal’ who led the team of incredible scientists.
The film ‘Mission Mangal’ is released on August 15 however it is based on the Mangalyaan expedition in 2008, India. As a result, the memories of the successful Mangalyaan safari are rekindled. Every Indian should watch the movie ‘Mission Mangal’ at least once for understanding how our space scientist works hard.
Akshay has done more than 150 films in his career, however, this film was more interesting for him. Yet, Mission Mangal is that the film he’s the foremost happy with. The actor admitted this during the trailer launch of the film ‘Mission Mangal’.
The film ‘Mission Mangal’ tells the tale of how India made commendable achievements in space with the Mars Orbiter Mission. Jagan Shakti’s ‘Mission Mangal’ can bring forth the country’s 1st interplanetary mission.
According to a report in Indian Express, Akshay said at the launch, “We didn’t have that much knowledge about Mars Orbiter Mission before we started working on the film. But slowly we came to know a lot, and it is because of director Jagan Shakti. In addition, ‘Mangalyaan’ cost solely Rs 450 crore whereas NASA spent over Rs 6000 crore for American maven orbiter. But My film 2.0 had a budget of 500 crores and this was less than that, so we are so proud.”
The multi-starrer space drama with hardcore science and
innovation means was made at a mammoth budget of Rs 500 crore. Surprisingly
though, the real Mars Orbiter Mission(‘Mangalyaan’) was helmed at Rs 450 core.
Akshay plays the role of mission director Rakesh Dhawan, who
leads the initiative in the film. Akshay firmly maintains, “his film is
about the women and it will always be.”
‘Mission Mangal’ will clash with John Abraham’s Batla House
and Prabhas’s Saaho on August 15. Speaking about the clash, Akshay said,
“More films are being made and the date belongs to everyone who wishes to
release their film on that date.”
It was a successful space mission created by very few scientists, including women scientists. There were more women scientists in this campaign. Scientists in ISRO had to face a lot of problems to make ‘Mangalyaan’. There was no country that managed to reach Tuesday on its first attempt. As a result, in view of India’s financial situation, it was impossible for ISRO to make a provision of Rs.450 Corer. And even with that much effort, if the first attempt did not succeed, there would be a lot of financial loss. However, despite this situation, our experienced Indian scientists made the Mangalyaan campaign a successful first day by night.
ISRO’s Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), which was also called Mangalyaan, was launched in 2013. Successfully executing a Mars mission in its first attempt, this mission marked India’s first interplanetary expedition. It made ISRO the fourth space agency to reach Mars, after Roscosmos, NASA, and the European Space Agency while also being the first Asian nation to reach Martian orbit. In 2014, China referred to India’s successful mission as the “Pride of Asia”.Recreating this landmark moment in India’s history on the big screen, Mission Mangal will tell the story from the perspective of the scientists that worked on the project, including the exemplary women behind the mission.
ISRO’s planning for mission
Mangalyaan :
On 23 November 2008, the first public acknowledgment of an unmanned mission to Mars was announced by then-ISRO chairman G.Madhavan Nair. The MOM mission(mission ‘Magalyaan’) concept began with a feasibility study in 2010 by the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology after the launch of lunar satellite Chandrayaan-1 in 2008. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh approved the project on 3 August 2012, after the Indian Space Research Organisation completed ₹125 crore(US$18 million) of required studies for the orbiter. The total project cost may be up to ₹454 crore (US$66 million).
The satellite prices ₹153 crore (US$22 million) and also the
rest of the budget has been attributed to ground stations and relay upgrades
which will be used for different ISRO projects. ISRO plans to develop and
launch a follow-up mission known as Mars Orbiter Mission two (MOM-2 or
Mangalyaan-2) with a bigger scientific payload to Mars in 2024.
The orbiter can use aerobraking to reduce the celestial
point of its initial orbit and reach an altitude a lot of appropriate for
scientific observation. The space agency had planned the launch on 28 October
2013 but was postponed to 5 November following the delay in ISRO’s spacecraft
tracking ships to take up pre-determined positions due to poor weather in the
Pacific Ocean.
The world was amazed by India’s efforts to send its first
satellite to Mars. The Mars Orbiter Mission probe lifted-off from the first
LaunchPad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre (Sriharikota range SHAR), Andhra
Pradesh, using a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket C25 at 09:08 UTC
on 5 November 2013.
The launch window was roughly twenty days long and began on 28 October 2013. The MOM probe spent a few months in Earth orbit, where it made a series of seven apogee-raising orbital maneuvers before trans-Mars injection on 30 November 2013 (UTC). After a 298-day transit to Mars, it absolutely was inserted into Mars orbit on 24 September 2014.
Cost to build ‘Mangalyaan’ :
At that time the total cost of this project ‘Mangalyaan’ was
approximately 450 crore (US$ 73 million). The low value of the mission was
ascribed by K.Radhakrishanan was the chairman of the ISRO who handled
various factors, including a ‘modular approach’, some ground tests and long
(18-20hours per day) working days for the scientist. BBC’s Jonathan Amos
mentioned lower worker costs, home-grown technologies, simpler design, and a
significantly less complicated payload than NASA’s MAVEN. This has been greatly
appreciated all over the world.
Cost to make the film ‘Mission Mangal’
:
The film budget is approximately 500 Crore which is much more than the real Mangalyaan project done by ISRO space scientist. With the help of the movie ‘Mission Mangal’, the efforts of the scientists involved in the journey to Mangalyaan, their stubbornness, stress, failure, small moments of joy during the project were all elaborated in the film.
That is why Akshay Kumar is talking about the film and says that the film is ‘one country, one dream, and one movie’. All the actors have tried to actualize the film through their masterful acting. The film has an experienced star cast who loosely supported the story of scientists at the Indian space research Organisation who contributed to the Mars Orbiter Mission, which marked India’s first interplanetary expedition.
Principal photography for the film began on November 2018, and it is scheduled to be theatrically released in India on 15 August 2019.
In November 2018, an infringement of copyright legal proceeding was filed against the makers of the film by the film producer Radha Bharadwaj. The trailer of the film was released on eighteen July 2019 by Fox Star Studios.
What inspired the film director Jagan
Shakti and created the movie ‘Mission Mangal’?
‘Mission Mangal’ film regarding ‘ordinary people commencing
to try and do extraordinary things’, says director. He additionally wont to say
that “My elder sister, Sujatha Krishna, is a scientist at ISRO. Even after her
marriage, I would see her get up by around five in the morning to do household
chores, cook food and then go to work. She was actually going for a launch.”
“I began writing the script more than three years ago while
working as an associate director to R Balki on Pad Man. My sister helped me
greatly in putting me in touch with the team.”
“There was a whole team behind the mission, and there was no
single hero. It is a company that holds 17,000 employees and so many people
chipped in. The core team had about six women and four men, apart from the
chairperson.”
“The one thing that struck me in my interviews with the
women was that they were so simple. If you saw them at a market or a bus stand,
you wouldn’t guess that they were scientists. They have a very positive
outlook. They were ordinary people setting out to do extraordinary things.
Every time they hit a roadblock, they found a simpler solution.”
He additionally wont to say that “It could be a true story
in terms of the technicalities. But the characters are completely
fictionalized. The film is not based on one person’s life. That would not do
justice to the team. We have added some elements here and there for
entertainment purposes. Due to security reasons, we could not shoot at the ISRO
premises, so we created our own sets.”
Akshay Kumar team up with Sonakshi Sinha

This asparagus recipe is a really delicious and mouth-watering recipe that also keeps some healthy nutritional values.
So, let’s just focus on this roasted asparagus and tomatoes
because it’s so incredibly simple to make, and it’s just packed with flavor.
I’ve recently discovered my passion for asparagus. This is
coming from someone who never used to buy asparagus to cook before, but I’d
have it at restaurants here and there. So here is my favorite way to cook
asparagus along with tomatoes.
I love roast tomatoes with Parmesan and balsamic reduction,
so adding some asparagus to this was a no brainer. Together they’re amazing and
such a delicious and healthy side dish.
I’ve also just realized that Easter is just around the
corner, where has the time gone? Wasn’t it just Christmas? I guess time does
fly when you’re having fun and I have been having loads of fun. Fun cooking
that is. Sometimes I get in the mood to cook all day. And sometimes I do cook
all day. So when I made this side dish, I made a million other dishes along
with it. But for now let’s just focus on this roasted asparagus and tomatoes because
it’s so incredibly simple to make, and it’s just packed with flavor.
I trimmed the ends off the asparagus and simply laid them in
a baking dish at one end and at the other end, I put the tomatoes cut in half.
I did spray the baking dish with cooking spray, or you could use some olive oil
as well if preferred. Then all you have to do is generously season the
asparagus and tomatoes with salt and pepper and sprinkle some Parmesan cheese
over them.
You just need to bake them at 400 F degrees for about 15 minutes,
not too long because you still want a bit of crunch in that asparagus. Balsamic
reduction is really easy to make, you just need balsamic vinegar and cook it
for about 15 to 20 minutes or until you see the sauce reduce and thicken. It’s
so good over roasted veggies, just yummy.
Ingredients :
• 1 lb
asparagus
• 2 cups
cherry tomatoes cut in half
• 1/4 cup
Parmesan cheese
• salt and
pepper to taste
• 1/2 cup
Balsamic vinegar
Instructions :
Preheat oven to 400 F degrees. Spray a baking
dish, I used a 9×13 inch, with cooking spray and set aside.
Snap the end pieces off the asparagus and place
them in the baking dish. Add tomato halves too. I placed the asparagus at one
end and tomatoes at the other end. Season generously with salt and pepper and
sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over asparagus and tomatoes. Place in oven and
bake for about 15 minutes or until asparagus softens a bit and begins to get
brown.
In the meantime add the balsamic vinegar to a
small saucepan and cook over medium heat for about 15 to 20 minutes or until it
reduces and starts to thicken.
Spray some of the balsamic cuttings over the
roasted asparagus and tomatoes and serve warm.
4. Asparagus Sweet Potato Chicken
Skillet
Portion cups and spoons of healthy ingredients on wooden table
This Asparagus Sweet Potato Chicken cooking pan recipe may
be a delicious, healthy, and easy-to-make meal that will get on your board in
less than half-hour. This is gluten-free, whole30, paleo, and perfect for a
busy weeknight dinner.
You’ll love this Asparagus Sweet Potato Chicken Skillet
recipe because it’s delicious, and you only need three ingredients to make it:
chicken, sweet potato, and asparagus. Of course, you’ll add some seasonings
such as garlic, salt, pepper, and red chili flakes, but technically, they don’t
count as ingredients, right?
Another good point about this Asparagus Sweet Potato Chicken
Skillet recipe is that it’ll be ready and on your dinner table in less than 30
minutes. So, grab your skillet, cutting board, and your chef knife, and chop
all the ingredients. This is the only hard work you will have. Awesome! It is
easy as pie. Believe me!
Now, let’s talk about today’s recipe, which is so delicious,
easy-to-make, gluten-free, and also paleo-friendly. This combination of
asparagus and sweet potato with chicken is perfect for a quick, flavourful, and
healthy weeknight dinner.
No, you can make this recipe with any kind of skillet you
have in your kitchen. BUT, I really recommend a cast-iron skillet for so many
reasons. This skillet is great for cooking on high heat. It’s also tough and
durable, and on top of that, it gets better with use. Another reason why I love
cast iron skillet is that you only need a thin layer of oil to cook the food
evenly without burning it. This is great because you can cut down on cooking
oil. It’s also an awesome skillet for roasting, sautéing, grilling, broiling,
and shallow frying in a small quantity of oil, which means you can make almost
everything in it.
And as iron is an essential mineral for our bodies, there is no problem if some amount of this metal leaches into your food while you’re cooking with a cast-iron skillet/pan. It’s actually a good thing. I have three cast iron pan, and I have to say that I can’t live without them. You can find a variety of pans on Amazon (I really love this one) for very good prices or at stores like Walmart and Target.
