iOS 14: A Critical Analysis

0

Q2 2020 is done and dusted. From the official announcement of the Sony PS5 to One Plus topping the premium section sales in India, it was certainly eventful. Despite the restrictions brought in by COVID 19, technology is just as lively as ever. So, I believe it’s the perfect time to talk about the latest update a giant revealed on June 22. Apple’s dreamy and, apparently, “game-changing” update; iOS 14.

If anything, Apple sure is innovative. They are the rebels who did always tried something different and somehow, prevailed. Among perseverance and mindlessly selling ridiculously expensive stuff to a generally ignorant crowd (no offence), iOS 14 is set to take the game up a notch (you get it if you get it).

iPhone 11

Back in August 2014, a small Chinese mobile phone manufacturer called Xiaomi took the world by storm and became one of the top-tier players. While critiques disregarded their OS MIUI 7 as ‘yet-another-android-clone’, tech enthusiasts took it to their hearts. For one sole reason; it’s Android. Fast forward to 2020, Apple releases iOS 14 with features heavily inspired by MIUI 7, or Android in general. Now, there’s one beautiful table-turning right then and there.

But hey, apart from the two three-year-old Android features that are widgets and pop up calls, iOS 14 brings in a plethora of appropriately useful and much-needed changes to the plate. This article aims at listing the most relevant ones down, break it down and analyse its usefulness.

iOS 14 Widgets

iOS WIdgets

Ah, the time discrepancy. It’s quite incomprehensible how Apple kept its user base free from the fact that these things existed in mobile devices dating back to 2012. Ranging from a wide array of applications supported; from the Music Player to the Calendar, this is quite handy. But, it is also a feature so old that most Android users even forgot these existed.

Sure, this was one innovative idea. Back in 2012 that is. Plus, Android still has the added advantage of KWGT. Though this isn’t grounds for a one-to-one comparison, it was not the best feature iOS 14 promises to introduce. Much needed? Sure. Innovative? Probably not.

App Library

App library

Apparently, the home screen could stop displaying every app there is and sort everything into folders and keep in an extreme side of the screen. This list called the App Library is undoubtedly drawing tremendous inspiration from the App drawer. Something that was in the game for like, forever. But there seems to an AI feature that sorts these apps, stacks them up nicely.

It is true that Android pre-loading does shorten app launch times based on usage. But, it never had an AI sort feature built-in. Counterproductive? It’s better to wait it out and find out. This could mean several things would change for the average iPhone user. Needless to say, relevant and absolutely necessary feature. Innovative? Absolutely not.

Picture in Picture Mode

PiP mode

If you’re a true fan, you would probably remember one of the best features Android 7.0 brought in. Yes, Picture in Picture mode was revolutionary and changed quite a lot of aspects of mobile phone usage. Multitasking immediately seemed to be absolutely imminent. So was the ever-growing need for faster larger RAMs. Well, 3 years later, while Android has come up with Android R, iOS 14 brings PiP mode to their devices.

While a bit late, this sure is one very helpful feature. It is good that they have drawn enough inspiration from Android and went for a screen overlay accessible throughout the device. PiP mode means a lot is about to change. A certainly useful and relevant feature to be honest. Nothing innovative to write about, though.

Voice call overlays

Voice call overlay

Yet another blatant ripoff. But this time, it is a necessity that forced Apple’s hand. As an Android user, imagine getting fullscreen voice calls that you would probably just ignore and go on with your day. With iOS 14, fullscreen calls are no more. Instead, users will be greeted by a pop-up banner for the audio call with minimal controls to suspend or accept the call. Once again, this one, just like PiP, is sure to change quite a lot for iOS users.

Not very late to the game this time around. Apple is certainly doing its best to keep up with the necessary features. With the addition of pop-up voice calls, many a disaster averted. One very necessary change of feature set. Once again, pretty devoid of innovation.

App Clips

App Clips

Okay, Apple has been thrashed enough. Besides, despite Instant Apps being an Android feature for over a year, not a lot of people or applications use it. So yes, Apple could actually turn this around if they implemented this throughout the Appstore. App Clips is Apple’s way of shouting Instant Apps. And at its core, it’s just that. It is a launchable preview of an application in the store without requiring you to actually install the App. This isn’t necessarily a very widely used or popular feature. But if you’re in a bound Data Pack, or doesn’t have the time to wait for an app to be installed, this could come in handy.

Apple would potentially be making a difference if they somehow manage to implement this feature Store-wide. And how they plan on doing that in Videogames and other demanding or ungeneralizable categories will be quite interesting. That being said, this is quite semi-innovative and does something good and useful, if not entirely new.

Translate app

Translate App

An offline translation application does not exactly scream 2020, but it definitely has its uses. Say you’re in a tunnel or ran out of data and cant connect to the WiFi, the Translate app has you covered as it works completely offline and can translate entire conversations instantly. This means you could now reply to whole sentences without google translate jumbling the words and messing everything up. Apparently, the app will only support 11 languages at launch. Let’s hope they add more quite soon.

This is a hard one. While it certainly isn’t the most useful application iOS has every introduced, it is no slouch either. It is certainly innovative and provided the conditions are satisfied, it is quite handy and useful. Solid effort.

Real-time Headphone audio alerts

Audio monitor

Now, there’s some good innovation in the works. Apple has developed software that can measure the audio levels and alert the user about high volume levels and environment noises. This goes hand in hand with the Apple Watch Noise App and is expected to be a good feature.

Focus on health and well-being. That is not something you find an Android phone advertise quite often. Unless you’re Samsung and you’ve exhausted every possible addition to the S-Health app. The audio alert feature is sure as innovative as it is useful.

Apart from these specific changes, there are quite a lot of innovative device-specific changes iOS 14 will reportedly bring in. The iMessage app will have an inline reply and Memoji feature. Health, Calendar, etc get major overhauls, password leakage alerts, Siri is now smarter, a brand new QR based payment interface with not much revealed about it, voice memos, and several other optimisations and overhauls.

iPhone SE 2020

Will iOS 14 finally up Apple’s game in the global market? Is this the one update that is bound to put Android to shame, or will Apple pull a Windows Phone and break what’s working? Judging from past experiences, Apple did mess somethings up with the undervolting. So, one would definitely have to wait and find out how this goes. On a side note, iOS 14 Beta 3 is out for devices and is currently being tested. So, it’s time to go wild. Until next time.

Hypnosis and Hypnotism

0
Hypnosis

We might have seen a person being controlled by a Hypnotist with a pendulum. Performing a bunch of tasks commanded to him with just some simple clicks. Be it live or on television, the idea of Hypnosis has always been intriguing for almost all of us. However, the capability of taking over one’s mind seems practically unrealistic. Due to the impracticality of this idea, a lot of people are more or less sceptical towards Hypnosis.

But does the concept exist? Yes, it does. Fortunately, rationality of a concept does not depend upon the ratio of believers to non-believers. Some of the most accomplished researchers have tried and tested the process of Hypnosis and Hypnotism over the years. The growth of knowledge about the concept has been so incredible that the hypnotism has outgrown beyond the stage shows. Well, the process of hypnotism is not exactly how it is portrayed in the movies or shows. We may have seen a person impersonating a monkey, dancing, laughing or even quacking like a duck. Hypnosis and Hypnotism are used in numerous ways in the world but the real hypnosis is much more than a stage act. It has endless operational possibilities.

Theory of Hypnosis

What exactly is hypnosis? The technique of hypnosis and hypnotism is significantly more complex than ‘just a mind trick’. We may have experienced people in the hypnotic state in or out of the television. They often seem to be sleepy, drowsy or zoned out. But in reality, they are in the predicament of hyper activity, they have an increased attention and sustainability. A hypnotized individual is highly attentive towards the situation and experiences focused imagination and fantasies. This procedure helps a person in more ways than one can imagine.

In other words, Hypnosis is the capability of a person to perceive and influence one’s mind. However, the process totally depends upon the decision of a person to be hypnotized or not to be. Being a procedure to takeover on one’s mind and influence the thoughts, the permission to do so matters the most. According to a survey, 10-15% people in the world are easily hypnotizable whereas, 20-25% are completely prone to hypnosis and hypnotism. Other 60-70% are the people like us, who can be moderately hypnotized.

The Process of Hypnotism

Hypnosis and Hypnotism

Hypnosis has become a highly accomplished scientific process over the years. Various classifications for a hypnosis process had come into play by many proficient scientists. Although, Hypnotists like Dave Hill, Dr. James Braid, Dr. Milton Erickson, Dr. Sigmund Freud have developed different approaches to the hypnotic process. Nonetheless, the stages that one goes through remain the same

1. Induction into the Hypnosis

The first step is to be ready for the consequences. As being hypnotised, completely depends upon one’s mind, you have to be confident and up for it. Lying back comfortably on your couch, sofa, bed or any other place where you’re ready to give your conscious mind away. However, Listening to a soothing voice is giving it the approval to affect your mind. The process lets you to slide into hypnotic state slowly and steadily.

2. State of Hypnosis

After you’ve been hypnotized, you enter a state of focused abilities in your mind. Your mind is more open to listening to the voice guiding it and being influenced by it. The hypnotic state is when the mind is completely tamed to be controlled and altered by the hypnotist. Your body is more calm and relaxed along with the hyperactivity and increased attention.

3. Influencing the Mind through Hypnosis and Hypnotism

Whenever you decide to undergo the process of hypnosis, you’ve set your sight on accomplishing something by guiding your mind. Be it quitting some habits, reducing anxiety, increasing focus, etc. Once you have entered the hypnosis state, it opens the door to the possibilities. You can emphasize your mind as per your directions to follow a particular task or to redo a lifestyle characteristic. The mind is more open to suggestions and you can guide yourself towards the path you wanted to follow. Nonetheless, Your mind can be counselled with a soothing voice that leads it on the right path.

Some Methods of Hypnosis and Hypnotism

Hypnotism is mainly focused on one goal which is to mentally train a mind for the betterment of an individual. The aim might be similar for most of the cases, but did you know? There are diverse methods to hypnotise a mind. Newer approaches have come into play over the years because of the research on the subject. To discipline one’s mind, they have to affect themselves and let the process take over the virtue.

1. Guided Hypnosis (or) Traditional Hypnosis

A tradition hypnosis is the most popular kind of hypnotic ability that you must’ve come across. Focusing on a pendulum swinging to and fro or maybe on a spinning spiral. To concentrate on a single point that allows the hypnotist to mesmerize you and take over your mind. You start to follow the instructions commanded once you set your mind on the focus point. This is the most popular kind of hypnosis which you might have seen in the stage shows or movies. The traditional hypnosis was started by Franz Mesmer in 1700s and later proved by James Braid after around 150 years.

2. Conversational Hypnosis (or) Ericksonian Hypnosis

Researched and Founded by Dr. Milton Erikson, the conversational hypnosis does not use external tools. Well, let’s just say it solely depends upon the speaker and the receiver involved in the process. The process of conversational hypnotics requires the patient to lie down comfortably. Hypnotism undergoes through the process of conversation by the hypnotist. The words are perceived by the mind causing it to calm down and relax. This method became very popular among the therapists to treat the patients mentally.

3. Hypnotherapy (or) Clinical Hypnosis

Having the ability to alter an individual’s thought process, hypnosis plays a major role for treating mental illness. As a result, Hypnosis for therapeutic benefit can be used to mesmerize a sufferer and reduce their anxiety. Hypnotherapy is an ability to influence one’s mind to get rid of the negative thoughts and imaginations. It can help relieve the stress and anxiety. One of the most quintessential factors is that you can access the hypnotherapy in various forms, be it from live therapist, a recorded session or a video.

4. Self-Hypnosis

Self-hypnosis is a trick to hypnotise oneself without any other external media. You can guide yourself through a video or audio podcast that lets you calm your mind. It requires you to lie in a comfortable spot as usual and listen to a voice that influences your mind. The hypnotism continues when you fall asleep but your thoughts keep altering for a better tomorrow. Self-hypnosis is a beautiful experience to achieve a lot of things with a right mind. However, it requires complete dedication and concentration for better results.

Ultimate Benefits of a perfect hypnotic process

Hypnosis and Hypnotism

Hypnosis is an astonishing experience to go through. Although, it takes moulding one’s thoughts by gaining their focused imaginations, at the end of the process, you can always find your better self. Hypnosis is similar to meditation where you wake up feeling relaxed and positive. One who undergoes the process can feel better in more ways that imagined.

What to achieve through the process of hypnosis?

  • Minimize or Eliminate the Fears and Phobias.
  • Change the habits you’ve always wanted to.
  • Get rid of the negative thoughts.
  • Help yourself relieve Anxiety and Depression though guidance of mind.
  • Boost up self-confidence and gain motivation.
  • Improve attitude and lean towards positivity.
  • Hypnosis also helps in reduction of pain and coping up with it in various situations like dementia, dental operations, nausea, pain during child birth, etc.

Android 11: A Critical Analysis

0
Android R

Looks like Google got back into the lettering game. After several massively huge updates, Android R beta previews are out. It’s Android R and not really 11 this time around. But it sure seems to bring quite the game to the table. From the Brand new Notification modes to the totally new and not at all Apple-inspired device controls, this articles aims to shine some light on some of the most interesting Android R features that were announced or previewed.

With Apple blatantly ripping off or rather porting Android’s much-celebrated features to iPhones this fall, with the iOS 14, Google had to come in strong. It was a pretty much one-up when Android R feature list rolled out. Of course, Google didn’t copy iOS features. It was rather the Interface that made it’s way to Android. Keep in mind that Google did reveal there won’t be many ground-breaking overhauls or features introduced with R. It is meant to be a quality of life update with major focus to aesthetics.

Android R update

Looks like Android got an ever bigger reskin from the ground up. At least in the Notification drawer and Device Controls. Clearly, Android R traded the sleek stock look for an iOS-like slider and UI elements. Obviously, there are some really interesting features to watch out for. With that set in place, here’s a gentle reminder that only Beta 2.5 was out. There could be improvements or changes in the actual release version.

Android 11 Media Controls

With iOS finally bringing in widgets to the game, Android really upped their game with the new Media Controls, literally. It is now apparently positioned above the quick-settings grid. Being an expandable live tile and taking up two times as many rows as previous versions, the Music Controls are definitely pleasing.

If you ever felt like Media Controls was just taking up too much space in your Notification drawer, looks like this is just what you wanted. Additionally, the new widget is set to have an audio device option right from the music tile. If you have your Bluetooth headset connected and still want to listen using the speaker, this works out well.

This was definitely an innovative and clever idea from Google. It is one thing to have expandable notifications to deal with the clutter. But moving it all the way up to the quick settings was certainly well improvised. With that being said, the obvious music cards from iOS widgets are clearly there. Makes one wonder, who actually copies whom? At this point, it doesn’t matter.

Android 11 Homescreen App suggestions

While iOS 14 works at reducing clutter by grouping applications into a secondary drawer, Android further expands upon this. The Android launcher dock is perhaps one of the most under-reworked features of all time. Keeping the dock in place all through Android 8 to 10, Android R is set to change this a bit. The App dock will now act as the recommended or rather, most used app list that you find inside your launcher.

App suggestions

This simple reword could really save you some time. But there is still a hefty chance that it could blow up and be counterproductive. Imagine searching for the dialer and not finding it on the home screen. After all, that was the sole purpose of the wireless Mobile Phone. A certainly innovative feature. Not very sure about the feasibility yet.

Notifications

This is one really well planned and thought-out update to the notification drawer. Android has decided to ditch the traditional notification layout and further expand upon the format Android 10 brought in. Instead of splitting notifications to dismissable and not, Android 11 really tries something new. The new notifications will be split into several sections with Necessary ones like Conversations staying on top.

notifications

This will organise the drawer much better and give a more clean layout to the current one. After all, if you’ve got just too many groups and chat-apps to keep up with but didn’t really like the clutter, this is supposed to make things better for you. One certainly innovative feature.

Android 11 Chat Bubbles

While people still talk about the most absurdly blatant rip-offs ever, Google entered the chat with chat bubbles. Much like Facebook Messenger’s chat bubbles, these are supposed to give you a one-way entry into the respective application you would use. Keep in mind, being an early feature, it is really ugly. A very basic design of the conversation with a red dot as a badge, this is not the very pleasing UI element Android has offered.

chat bubble

While it isn’t very pleasing or innovative at all, in that aspect, chat bubbles are sure to make people’s lives easier by offering an entry point into their chat apps, from where ever they are. It is more like a dialled down PiP mode, but with multi-application support.

Device Controls.

If Chat Bubbles are ‘inspired’ by Facebook Messenger, the new Device Control screen is the epitome of a mindless rip-off. Android just reworked their Device Control menu and I’m not sure I like it. For starters, it’s very much like iOS black. But for some good reason, the connected home paradigm has entered the equation. Now, the power menu is revamped to incorporate the devices connected to your smart home and a payment interface for the same.

device control

A certainly innovative way to do things. Cleared the clutter in the app list only to clutter the power menu. A very interesting feature with brilliant usability. Further analysis is required to see just how feasible this will turn out to be.

Android 11 Overview

Android Pie did a really good job with the new Overview menu for the recent apps with launchable shortcuts in the dock and several other tweaks like Quick-switch. Since it is non-existent, Android 11 brings in a more zoomed-in Overview menu with the dock ditched. It certainly changes things about the app switching. But there are added bonuses of being able to screenshot apps and copy text without actually opening it.

overview

This is a certainly innovative feature. But did they really have to ditch the classical dock? It almost feels like Android went for one thing or the other and not both. While it has its downsides, this is certainly helpful. Keep in mind that the text copy features was introduced in Android Pie as an exclusive feature to Pixel devices. Kudos to Google for rethinking it.

Privacy

Google has closed out all-out access to apps by providing users with a brand new feature called One-Time-Permission. It basically restricts the permitted resource access by the application to just once. This provides an added layer of security.

Pixel 2 XL running Android R

Of course, these are not the only features available in Android R. A full feature-list can only be produced after the Software Update and rework rolls out sometime later this year. As of now, Android 11 looks really interesting, ignoring the ripped and reused components. We are yet to see what becomes of this new version of Android.

Nepotism – Childhood Preachings. Crime Or Not? Boon Or Bane?

0

Believe it or not, we are all nepotists. Today when there are scandals all over the world ringing on notifications, stirring minds with all the unhealthy culture we have been brought up with. Let’s not pretend we never knew. The practice of nepotism has led to life loss, dream loss and become a leading cause of depression. And here is the rest of the population. If you try to help a cousin, your sibling, or any other relative with an internship or recommendation or a job offer that’s not what we are talking about. We are talking about the bias that led to an unhealthy practice destroying several lives, shuttering careers, and now has become the motto of the biggest industries we deal with.

Family businesses are termed nefarious. Some of us have family businesses running generation after generation. That’s not nepotism. Nepotism is where you do not hire eligible ones and choose to remain with your preferred ones. This is because of a standard bias. A short study conducted by the Guardian – a survey of income and program participation by the census bureau – has released strange data while comparing inheritance and taking up a similar job as the father. 22% of sons have been found in the same place the father worked. Unlikely only 13% of daughters work at the same place that their fathers did.

Nepotism - Childhood Preachings. Crime Or Not? Boon Or Bane?

Family Legacy

As a student, a job hunter or a career expectant, we have always had our good and bad times. A study conducted by a renowned foundation found that 5 out of 10 people in the world use their family connections to get a job. Talking about workplace legacy can be good and bad. A family business employing hundreds of people may witness their sons and daughters rotating on the higher position, depriving other careerists the deserved position, thus losing a few good employees. Some employees understand family succession and remain quiet because of the salary or maybe the fear of losing their current job and starting to hunt for something else.

Nepotism - Childhood Preachings. Crime Or Not? Boon Or Bane?

A survey of business owners and companies in a position to be large private organisations has no starting objective where succession in true family terms is a practice. If you don’t have the best people, your organization will demolish in no time. Nepotism has also lead to controversies within organisations, competency rate, an edge over the competitor with no innovation, finally leading to a problematic situation. Every day organisations in industries practising nepotism not only undermine the morals of the best-performing ones but raise conflict of interest and produce a toxic impact on the existing workforce.

History Taught Us

Yes, that’s correct. When it comes to family we know a part of the extreme nepotism we grew up with is family bias. It’s the very first family culture where the favourite child, favourite sibling, favourite cousin, favourite uncle, a favourite aunt and that’s how it goes on. Without a prerogative, generation after generation, the same family takes the hand and preaches the values of society. Where today the rise and fall of a society depends upon the merit of its people, then why is nepotism a part of such growth? With nepotism come parts of unfair favour. Some consider nepotism to be a crucial emotional sense. Believe it or not. We are never the test of one or the other values.

Let’s begin with our history. During the Renaissance in Europe, a Catholic Church took to nepotism. The church witnessed the appointing of popes who were in the family and thereafter led the succession stories. In the year 1934 one of the most famous sports of the Catholic Church in Europe, Alessandra Francis, elected his grandson also named Alessandra, and appointed him to the position of cardinal.

Nepotism - Childhood Preachings. Crime Or Not? Boon Or Bane?

His other grandsons were given similar authoritative positions and made the Duke of Italian State in 1954. Until 1600 the pope was considered one of the most authoritative people in the Senate and all the popes were appointed under him. Does it not sound unfair? This Foundation from our historical development, which is now getting a bigger position. Today there is an open competition. The ideals of bias are gaining popularity and there is no one good to work with or receive appreciation from.

What Does Nepotism Bring Along?

What do you expect nepotism will bring along? Have your tantrums been forgiven? Is your unpleasant character overlooked? Immense support in the form of bias and the constant forgiveness to children who are not good in spite of the disappointment they bring to their parents? Despite everything, nepotism is a holiday in spite of being wrong. The context of nepotism is neither good nor bad. It only creates ripples of negativity about positivity. Given the circumstantial existence, nepotism is drawn into for parents to become potters in the first place. Culture is somewhere missing, instilling values of honesty, integrity and dependability on one child and forgetting about those values while looking at the very next rise.

Forgoing every mistake and favouring a special one is a sign of inept nepotism. An organisation of family and industry, a country or a region of the world following the principles of nepotism only concludes that there is a failure of the correct principles. There is no point in educating your child if you do not advocate bias. Lessons on bias are as important as making your child understand the deficiency of understanding. Owning your place in the company through hard work is where your principles will come into play.

Nepotism - Childhood Preachings. Crime Or Not? Boon Or Bane?

Nepotism Is A Crime, Yes or No?

Given the practice of nepotism around the globe, its positivity is somewhere lost and fails to regain. It has become a negative word, based on the collective decision. Is nepotism a crime? Organisations and industries prefer the word favouritism over nepotism, for instance. Legal dictionaries face discrimination charges if favouritism is a sought after practice. Victims of nepotism, favouritism or discrimination can sue under certain legal obligations. However, there are also laws that prohibit the practice.

The country’s federal law dictates clearly how discrimination is a non-tolerant practice. Discrimination based on gender, caste, creed, sex, and individuality all come under the legal purview of nepotism. This leads to low levels of meritocracy. If an industry is to value nepotism over meritocracy, the highly incentivized will lose energy to work hard. If you can seep-in to a business just like that, is it fair to drive all your energy striving for interviews, negotiations for pay packages or study for a reputed job?

Tips For Leaders To Keep It Out Of Nepotism

So what if you have a family business, doesn’t mean you have to create a position for every member. Stop creating positions. Let your members face the real world.

Nepotism - Childhood Preachings. Crime Or Not? Boon Or Bane?

A family business is not regarded as an experience unless a valid employment addendum with relevant work experience is showcased, for instance. If you are slipping your child into the family business, make sure you are also dealing with the motivation of putting him in an organization that may further nurture his skills.

Transparency is the key to no discrimination. Not every person you hire may not be related to you. Value higher is the best way to communicate what you expect. Especially, when you communicate challenges a person might not be willing to choose your job. In addition to that, assessing a person’s strengths and weaknesses is equally important when you try to assess the new opportunities for which you take a position.

It helps in strengthening bone along with their muscles and promotes mortar skills as it is loaded with vitamin D and calcium. It accommodates the base for all dairy products such as paneer, curd, butter, cheese, cream, whey, and whatnot. This is a drink often people associate with good health.

The dairy milk is packed with numerous health benefits such as Appetite Control, Good source of quality protein, Heart Health, Mental growth and development, Rich in antioxidants, Reduce stress and anxiety, etc. 60-70% of people in the world cannot digest milk properly because of lactose intolerance or allergic to a protein that is present in the milk(Casein). It depends on person to person whether milk suits you or not.

But do you know, the way we often intake milk may be mistaken? This article focus on the routine of how we intake milk in general and the reasons why it is considered incorrect. Also will jot down the correct method of consuming this power-packed drink to maximize its benefits.

1. Supping milk with salty foods

milk with baked cookies.

Do you drink milk with biscuits, cookies, paranthas, or namkeens? If yes, then you are unknowingly damaging your digestive structure from within. You can imagine it like, Milk + Salt = Slow Poison. Combining it with salty foods may cause uneven reactions in the body such as skin irritations and many more. Make sure you maintain a gap of at least 2 hours in between milk and salty foods.

cold coffee

All of us are very much fond of drinking cold coffees and chilled milkshakes for which the base product used is milk. But on the other hand, it makes the milk much heavier as it is already heavy. And that makes it more difficult for our body to digest it which ultimately leads to problems like constipation and bloating in the stomach.

3.Taking fruits along with Milk

A bowl with strawberries, berries, cereals dipped in milk

This is the biggest mistake you do if you’re combining milk with fruits. It becomes irreconcilable if you have milk and fruits together especially citrus fruits like lemon and orange. Amla or Indian gooseberry can be blend with milk. Other fruits that can be integrated with milk are ripe bananas or mangos. It is recommended to see how your body responds after drinking milk and banana and you should act accordingly. This entire fact can be summarized by the equation, Milk + Fruit = Burden on the Digestive System.

4. Drinking milk with meals

Milk with meals

Milk alone is the only food that constitutes all the nutrients a human body requires. As mentioned above milk itself is considered a whole meal and if we take it before and after a meal, it will be considered as two meals. This puts more pressure on the digestive system and thus we may suffer acidity or irritation in the stomach. Moreover, the nutrients from the milk and meal taken are not absorbed properly. Keep a gap of at least one and a half hours before and after a meal.

5. Mixing sugar and milk

Adding sugar to a glass of milk

Milk contains lactose which is a kind of sugar, so milk is naturally sweetened. The sugar that we bring from the market is the processed and refined one with chemicals. Hence, it hinders the absorption of the essential supplements from the milk. Another option is that you can add a natural sweetener like jaggery or honey.

When to drink milk?

The fact which we can’t resist is that unlike any other food, milk is the only food that provides all the important supplements a human body needs. So. here comes the question that HOW? WHEN? and WHAT? milk should we consumed to get its maximum benefits.

No need to worry! I will answer each question of yours about how to fix these ways.

If you are lactose intolerant, then you might have believed that you will never be able to digest milk any more. But, if I say that Yes, there’s a way to fix that too. You gonna get your answer in a short while.

Milk can be consumed at any time of the day. Though the best time to drink milk is in the evening. Research says that the enzymes that are required to digest milk efficiently produce by our body after sunset. Milk is basically made up of two types of proteins, one is Casein (80%) and the other is Whey (20%). Casein is ideally digested at night. Moreover, milk is rich in tryptophan, which induces and promotes good sleep. Drink it after 2 hours of taking dinner.

How to drink milk?

a boy gulping a glass of milk

The most preferred way to drink milk is to warm it up for a minute in low flame and drink it slowly sip by sip while remaining in a sitting position. When milk is heated, its molecular structure breaks in such a way that helps the body to digest it more effortlessly. But if you’re constipated, it is advisable to gulp the milk hot in a standing position.

For those who are lactose intolerant, there could be many reasons why our body stops accepting it and hinders the digestion. The total boycotting of milk may be one of the reasons. Wrong usage or degrading quality of milk can also be responsible for this kind of intolerance.

Well here is what you can do. Take a little quantity of cow milk in a pan and place it over a high flame. Add 1 teaspoon of dry ginger to it and let it boil for some time. Once, it gets to boil, lower the flame and heat it for around 5 minutes more. Let it cool a bit and take ⅛ of this milk at the beginning days. Start drinking it slowly and gradually increase the quantity to 1 cup. In a minimum of 10-15 days, you will notice change depending upon how your body responds. This is a tried and tested method to get your body used to consume milk again.

What milk to drink?

What milk should be consumed remains one of the interesting questions to be answered, Cow milk or Buffalo milk? As discussed earlier, Cow milk is considered to be the best. However, if you’re skinny or looking forward to gaining weight then I would suggest you take buffalo milk as it is denser and rich in calories. Also, it is richer in carbs. If you’re buying packet milk, then always go for the toned one.

Conclusion

A bottle of milk

Thereafter, Milk is best when consumed alone or can be combined with rice, almonds, or oats. Loaded with diverse supplements, it is meant to be the most nutritious beverages one can have. All we need to keep in mind is that have milk in the right way so that you can get the maximum from it.

Faceapp and Data privacy: A crime that went unseen

0

While 2020 is sucking all the joy out of the lives, let’s rewind time and look at one of the weirdest trends. The trend that took over the internet exactly one year from today – Faceapp and its related data privacy issues.
Ever thought about how one is going to look in his/her late 60’s or 70’s? Or how one would look if he/she was born the opposite gender? Well, we don’t have to think about it anymore, because we apparently have an app for it- FaceApp.

What is FaceApp?

Faceapp and Data privacy: A crime that went unseen
FaceApp racist filters.

FaceApp was a viral lark that answers all the above questions. It can even transform one’s expressions using the ‘neural network’ artificial intelligence technology. In short, an app that hits all the sweet corners of curiosity of today’s tech-savvy youth. FaceApp has been around for 3 years now. Back when it was launched in 2017, the app exploded in social media feeds. However, at that time, its data collection policies were downright saintly. The fact which really highlighted the app was its blackface filter. The filter applied a lighter skin tone to its dark-skinned users. This feature was ultimately deleted for obvious reasons and protests and the app went sort of cold. Until in 2019 when the FaceApp aging challenge gained momentum and popular celebrities got involved.

Soon, it topped the charts and became the most popular free app in 156 countries, including India. It surpassed even the social media giants like ‘Instagram’ and ‘YouTube’.
Viral photo challenges aren’t new in the realm of social media. So why this newfound hullabaloo about an app?

Data privacy has always been important. It’s why people put locks on data cabinets and pay for safety deposit boxes at their banks. But as more of our data becomes digitized and we share more information online; data privacy is taking on a greater concern. In simple terms, Data privacy relates to how a piece of information—or data—should be managed based on its importance. For instance, one likely wouldn’t mind sharing his/her name with an unknown website in the process of basic registration; but there’s other information he/she wouldn’t share like credit card number, mobile number, and so on and so forth.

FaceApp and Data Privacy

To understand the severity of the issue, let’s take a look at one of the FaceApp’s terms of service where it went creative and put some interesting statements. The terms, concisely that, once anyone signs up and uses the app, the company can do pretty much whatever it likes with the user’s photos. It could plaster a wrinkled version of his/her face across a billboard, website, or the side of a skyscraper, and he/she would have no legal recourse. And it’s not even the scariest part of their fine print. Let’s take a keen look at Section 10, 15 and 17 of the world’s one of the most controversial terms of service.

Faceapp and Data privacy: A crime that went unseen

Section 17

Section 17 clause gives Wireless Lab, the owner of the app, the right to change the terms at any time, and that the company simply have free will to choose if they want to notify the users with the updated terms online. Conclusively, there would be nothing to bar the company from suddenly imposing a usage charge, and the only way to find out would be to continuously check the terms of use for updates, or one’s App Store-linked bank account for withdrawals.

Section 10

Section 10 states that you will “indemnify, defend, and hold harmless” FaceApp and its “officers, directors, agents, partners and employees” from “any loss, liability, claim, demand, damages, expenses or costs” relating to your use of the app. Basically, one cannot sue them for any loss or injury he/she suffers through the app (such as damaged reputation or embarrassment caused by Wireless Lab using your photos). It also means that the user agrees to cover all legal fees for third-party claims against FaceApp arising from the usage of the app, yet you surrender all control over the legal action. In stark terms, this means a user can’t sue FaceApp, and if you try, then congratulations! You would be picking up the bill.

Section 15

And at last, Section 15, the clause which will make one regret their mistake of not reading it in the first place. Section 15 of FaceApp’s terms all but bans users from taking legal action against the company. They’re only permitted to lodge small claims (that too to certain limits) or seek specific court intervention. They’re otherwise required to resolve all legal disputes through confidential arbitration held in California. Thankfully, one can opt-out of this provision – but he/she only has 30 days from the day of registration to do so, meaning most of the app’s 100 million existing users enjoying the perks of data theft are already too late. For those who have recently bought the hype, the clock is ticking. You can opt-out by sending written notification to:

Wireless Lab OOO
16 Avtovskaya 401
Saint-Petersburg, 198096, Russia

You are supposed to include your full name and clearly state your intent to opt-out of binding arbitration. If you do this, standard Californian law holds and you regain your legal right to sue if you want.

A test we failed

We’ve known that FaceApp was controversial and still turned a blind eye to the underlying issue. We know that facial recognition is troubling and that “deep fake” technology can be used to create stunningly realistic videos of a person using just the images of their faces. And yet, when a user clicks accept without reading the terms, the company can say, “we warned you already, now bugger off.”

What can be done?

Faceapp and Data privacy: A crime that went unseen
Sacrificing some privacy in order to enjoy the fruits of the internet is unavoidable.

Playing it safe and blaming FaceApp should be an easy call. But everything is relative, and it’s unfair to zero in on one problematic app when the entire internet is riddled with glaring privacy concerns, to the point where we’ve grown somewhat numb to them. As one article’s headline goes, “Do you think FaceApp is scary? Wait until you hear about Facebook.”

For most of us, sacrificing some privacy in order to enjoy the fruits of the internet is unavoidable, but unless we see the bigger picture highlighting data privacy concerns, we’ll need to get much, much better at drawing lines for ourselves.
