Class and elegance is something that never goes out of style and makes everyone sit up and notice the moment you walk in a room full of people. There is so much more to being classy than what you wear and how you dress. Here are some tips to help you out: 

1. Behaviour:

The very basic rule to be classy is to behave in a classy way. You might get your hands on designer bags, shoes, expensive accessories and what not, but none of that would make you classy unless you are confident from within, polite, exercise good manners and talk with maturity and sense without using curse words and be respectful towards others. 

2. Fabric:

Other than behavioural changes, go ahead and invest in good quality fabrics. Synthetic material can look a little cheap and so it’s always great to go for cottons, linen, tussar etc. These fabrics might be a little expensive but they will last long, will make you feel comfortable especially in the heat and will always be the first step towards getting that timeless look.

3. Colours: 

Go for classic colours which are basic neutrals such as bold Black, navy Blue, Deep Red, White, Off-white and Beige. These colours mix and match with any accessory and opens up any piece you wear on top of them. Also, for office goers, these are always the best colours to go for creating a classy look

4. Under-wear:

It is very important that you wear good quality underwear that fits you perfectly and makes you feel comfortable. You can afford to buy less expensive clothes but never compromise on underwear because nothing destroys your image more than you tugging and pulling at your dress and your bra to make yourself comfortable. That is an absolute no no! This might take more time, a little research, little experimentation and some effort of shopping around to try out various sizes and brands, but when you get the right size and the right brand, there is nothing better!

5. Minimalism:

Less is always more when it comes to being elegant and classy. A perfect foundation, a thin eyeliner, a lengthening plus volume-adding mascara, light blush and a lipstick can go a long way. Side by side, you can pair your dress up with a standalone luxury hand-bag or an expensive belt or a beautiful scarf or a very gorgeous necklace and earrings or a stunning pair of shoes.  

6. Prints:

The key to wearing prints, designs and checks and keeping it classy is to opt for smaller prints. Prints add volume and open up the dress and have the tendency to overwhelm the body. Hence, it is advisable to go for smaller florals, geometric designs or tessellating patterns. 

7. Self-grooming:

This might sound very obvious but self-grooming and keeping your absolute clean is the first key to look elegant. Keep your face clean and moisturised, brush twice daily amd scale your teeth with the help of a dentist, shape your eye-brows, keep your nails short, clean and manicured, take care of your feet, remove your body odour and maintain your hair and keep them well-hydrated.

Wear a perfume that speaks of your personality. An overpowering cheap smell can give headache to people approaching you and repel them rather than making them get attracted to you. Use a light floral or fruity or spicy smelling perfume and use it only at your pulse-points. Don’t overdo it, rather it’s best to carry it in your bag and re-apply it when necessary. 

9. Clothes:

Keep your clothes absolutely clean and pristine by washing them after every two times you wear them. Use an iron or a steamer to remove all creases from your clothes and I believe steaming is an easier option, all because it vents out water vapour which eliminates all the bad odour from your dress. 

10. Skin-show:

This is completely your choice about what you wear and how much skin you want to show but according to my opinion, to look classy, limit the amount of skin you show. Elegance is about wearing your best dress right and being comfortable in your skin. Also, as a rule, you can follow these: If you decide to show skin on top, such as a bit of cleavage, you need to pair it up with a set of trousers or pants to balance it out. If you intend to expose your legs, then wear a covered top with full sleeves to make it look more even. 

11. Neutral make-up:

For regular purpose, switch to a more everyday sort-of neutral make-up that will match with almost all dresses and hair-colour that you may want to try out. Try using nude nail-polishes so that after a week or so, when the nails grow from below, it does not look odd. Switch to nude lip-shades that are also hydrating for the lips. Very dry lipsticks which are chipping away from your lips and cracking them up, settling into fine lines are an absolute no! Look for a foundation that suits your complexion perfectly and is not cakey. Always use sunscreen to protect your skin from getting tanned.

So many of us, when we find a great dress or a top which looks great but is not fitting us completely, we go ahead and buy it thinking we would rock in it! But what happens when you actually wear it and you go out? You feel uncomfortable, you feel squeezed into the dress, you constantly adjust it and that, by no means, makes you look classy. Hence, it is always advisable to try your clothes in the Trial rooms whenever you go shopping, sit in it, while wearing it, move around and make a decision on how that dress sits on your body.If you find that you are in-between sizes, always and always go for the next bigger size. A little larger is always more comfortable and also, you have the option of stitching it in place. Nothing is worse than constant fidgeting with your outfit.

Your skin is the first thing that people see and none of us can boast about having the perfect skin! It’s perfectly okay if you are suffering from acne or dark patches or discolorations or hyper-pigmentation or such issues but it’s never too late to start taking care of them. It’s best to consult a dermatologist and follow religiously whatever has been prescribed for you. Cut down sugar, lower oil-intake and maintain a proper diet to keep your skin and hair healthy and also, for losing excess fat if you are looking for weight-loss.

Black holes are neutron stars with such a gravitational force that even light cannot escape from it.

A black hole is a mathematical solution. A neutron star over the critical mass gets so dense that it forms larger and larger time dilation relative to the outside universe thus we get to see what happens on short time scales.

But what causes it to emit radiation?

Hey friends! here I am with a new article – Hawking Radiation, theorized by Stephen Hawking in 1974 (a small effort to remember him).


Hawking Radiation! The phenomenon that has been baffling physicists since its discovery. The process that describes the death of a black hole or the process by which a black hole “emits” radiation. The very fact that radiations are coming from a black hole is in itself mind blowing!
The thought came into existence after it was mathematically proved that black holes have an entropy. The presence of entropy signified that it must have a temperature. And as we know from the laws of thermodynamics, it meant that it must be radiating energy and thus loosing mass.

The equation that describes the entropy of a black hole is:

S = (Av^3) / (4hG)

Where, S is the entropy and A is the area of horizon.
This wonderful expression contains the three fundamental constants of nature: v, the speed of light; G, Newton’s constant of gravitation; and h, Planck’s constant. Wow!
This expression helps to establishes the relation between gravity and thermodynamics.
We can also see that entropy is directly proportional to area of horizon. As the area of horizon increases entropy of a black hole increases, which may happen when a black hole sucks more mass or when two black holes merge to form a single black hole .

The larger a black hole is lesser would be its absolute temperature. The temperature and mass follow the following relation:

Where, t is the Hawking temperature, h is Planck’s constant, G is Newton’s constant of gravitation, m is mass of the black hole and k is Boltzmann constant.
The explanation to Hawking Radiation combines Relativity and Quantum Mechanics – The science of the very big and the science of the very small, respectively.


Quantum Mechanics, in a strange way as it is, talks about the creation of virtual particles in vacuum. These particles pop up on themselves and immediately annihilate giving energy. These particles are matter – antimatter pair. When matter and antimatter annihilate, they both vanish and give energy. The vacuum is not essentially empty. These new particles always keep on popping .

If this process takes place near the event horizon, chances are one of the particles, the one with negative energy will get sucked up and the other with positive energy will escape into the Universe as a real particle. As the negative mass gets inside the black hole it reduces some of its mass. For an observer seeing it from outside, the positive particle would appear as radiation and it would appear that the black hole is losing mass. Thus, the black hole will lose matter, particle by particle and gradually evaporate with time.


From the principle of conservation of mass, and relativity, we know that mass and energy are inter convertible. For a reminder, the equation:

This equation tells the energy possessed by an object of relative mass m, moving with the speed of light or the similar nature of mass and energy. The particles that are formed near the event horizon, are formed using the energy from a black hole’s gravitational potential energy. Thus, making it loose energy and eventually mass.


This happens incredibly slow at first. For a super massive black hole, it is really insignificant. Reasons being: A, its large event horizon; B, high suction to emission ratio and C as we have seen from the above equations that temperature is inversely proportional to the mass of a black hole. The process gets faster as the black hole becomes smaller.(The scientists at the Large Hadron Collider hope on making one such ultra-tiny micro black hole in order to study Hawking Radiation.)

When it arrives at the mass of a large asteroid, its radiating at room temperature. When it has the mass of a mountain, it radiates with about the heat of our sun. And in the last seconds of its life, the black hole radiates away with the energy of billions of nuclear bombs in a huge explosion. The wavelength emitted is same as the size of a black hole. As size gets smaller, the wavelength also gets smaller. The largest of the black holes are the coldest and the smallest ones are the hottest. BUT, this process is incredibly slow.

The last of the largest of the black holes may take a googol year to evaporate (hundred zeroes after 1). This period is so long that when the last black hole radiates away, nobody will be around to witness it. The universe would have become uninhabitable, long before then!


A proper explanation to the Hawking Radiation needs a quantum theory of gravity, that is, the unification of gravitation and quantum mechanics – the two giants of modern physics. We are working towards it but haven’t achieved it yet. We have better hopes from future.

She is currently admitted at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow where she tested positive for Covid 19 for the third time. She has been kept in isolation in a private room with washroom, patient bed, television and gluten free diet. Her carelessness has affected has 11 lives as among the 56 people 11 who came in contact with Kanika Kapoor was also diagnosed positive from Covid-19.

FIR lodged against Kanika Kapoor for her careless behaviour

Four FIRS have been lodged against the lady singer so far and Kapoor has been charged with deliberately spreading infection and also violation of section 144 and negligence and disobedience of the order by attending parties. She has been booked under Sections 188, 269, and 270 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Sarojini Nagar police station in the city. The FIR was lodged based on a complaint filed by the chief medical officer (CMO) of Lucknow. According to the sources, the officials are now trying to change the FIRs and remove the discrepancies

Meanwhile in Lucknow Dr RK Dhiman is not happy with Kanika’s behaviour as she is not cooperating and throwing her owing celebrity tantrums to the hospital authorities

Rajiv Kapoor, father of kanika claims that she had attended three parties after returning from London came into contact of almost 300 people, singer denied his father’s claims. Kanika ‘s father Rajiv Kapoor who has tested positive for corona virus stated in an interview on 20th March “Six of us in our family are undergoing test today at 4pm. Kanika has attended three parties after her arrival. She came in contact with around 350-400 people in three parties. Along with Kanika, we are also in isolation,”.

He further added Rajiv Kapoor also reiterated and said that Kanika did the test at the airport and “nothing” was reported at that point of time.

Kanika Kapoor on a telephonic conversation contradicting his father’s claim she said that she only attended one party and came in contact of 20-30 people.

Corona virus cases has crossed 1000 with two more positive cases in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Total number of deaths reached 20 as of now.

Although we might be caught up with “working from home”, considering the time spend daily to get ready and commute TO and FRO from office is saved big time and we are stuck with a lot of free time and with very little idea of what to do with it. Some people have been reportedly struck with depression with sitting at home and not been able to socialize. Hold on! Here are some tips to help you get over with it!

  • How many days have you thought about de-cluttering all the unwanted mails, the extra icons cluttering your desktop, the duplicate files and folders eating up the space in your mobiles and laptops, pictures and screenshots no more required and movies and videos you would no more see. Well, this is the perfect time to delete those trash files, sort, clean and arrange for more free space.

  • How about engaging in elaborate skin care, hair care and D.I.Y.s and pamper yourself to feed your skin and hair with all the nourishment that they yearned for so long. Men especially suffer from a lot of tan and dandruff issues and women too.

  • To remove tan, take a slice of tomato and rub it all over the tanned area for 2 to 3 mins, keep it for another 5 mins and then wash it off. Another remedy is to take a dollop of home-made curd and add Haldi paste to it. Mix the 2 ingredients really well and apply it all over the tanned area and leave it on for 10 – 15 mins and then wash it off. These 2 remedies effectively remove tan with no side effects to worry about; however, do a patch test in the skin behind your ears before using them fully. For dandruff, mix a few drops of lemon (provided you are not allergic to it) with coconut oil and heat the mixture. Then massage the warm oil mixture all over your scalp and leave it for 2 hours. Then wash your hair with a mild shampoo. You need to do these 3 to 4 times to get rid of dandruff completely. Other than these essentials, go for a thorough skin care routine consisting of cleansing, scrubbing, masking, toning, serums and moisturizing. Correct me people if my sequence is wrong, I’m not a beauty blogger. This is a perfect time to take care of your cracked heels, dry hands, body polishing etc.
  • Enrol yourself in online platforms such as Udemy and Coursera and get a thorough knowledge of the technologies and skills that are driving the World now and are very essential to get a good job. As per my knowledge, you can do courses on Analytics, Quality Control, Big Data, Machine Learning, Python, Six Sigma, Accountancy Basics, Corporate Finance, Supply Chain and Logistics, SAP, Java, Business Report writing, Communication skills or can be anything under the Sun that might boost your growth. You may also start preparing for any competitive exams that you are planning to take and gain an edge over your peers.
