SCAMMING INDIA

corruption

Today when I opened the newspaper, I was shocked to see that the whole newspaper was filled with the news related to scams or corruption, which makes me feel that  whether I am living in that country which was considered as the golden bird or I am living in that country which is famous for its corruption or scams.

Side effects of RelationshipAfter looking at the newspaper first thing that came into my mind was what is a scam .The answer to my question was very simple; a scam is an attempt to defraud a person or group of people by gaining their confidence. From childhood onward I have been taught by my elders that Honesty is the best policy. But when I look at the people who defraud other people for money, first thing that came into my mind  is did their elders didn’t taught them the same lesson that my elders have taught me or these people have changed their priority  from moral education to money. Nowadays people have become so much money minded that for them they can do anything to earn money whether it is morally correct or not.

Till now there are so many people who are not aware about the fact that the money involved in these scam is directly or indirectly their own money that they have paid to the government in the form of taxes.  These Scams adversely impacts the economy of any nation and too many scams could result in major economic decline. Also  these Scams damages the economic outlook of a nation resulting in loss of FIIs(Foreign Institutional Investment) & FDIs(Foreign direct investment ).So directly or indirectly people involved in these scam are betraying the economy of their country.

In last few years India has witnessed a large number of scams where public money has been looted by the politicians and bureaucrats. Involvement of Government ministers in these scams clearly depicts a sad picture of the democracy. It also portrays loss of credibility with regard to governance. In India the working class has to pay a huge part of their salary as Income Tax to Government for the development and betterment of the country. Such scams results in strong resentment among the tax payers when they realize that there are hard earned contribution has been looted in scams.

Corruption has been there is in the roots of India after independence .The first scam that came into notice was Jeep scandal case which took place in the year 1948. The most famous scandal of that time was the Mundhara scandal which took place in the year 1951 in which 12 million rupees (US$180,000) was involved and the teja loan scandal (1960) in which 220 million rupees was involved.

Then there was a major turning point in the politics and economy of our country i.e.  When Coal allocation scam (or Coalgate) and 2G scam came under notice. CAG is a major political scandal concerning the Indian government’s allocation of the nation’s coal deposits to public sector entities (PSEs) and private companies and The 2G spectrum scam was an Indian telecommunications scam and political scandal in which politicians and government officials under the Indian National Congress (Congress) coalition government undercharged mobile telephone companies for frequency allocation licenses, which they then used to create 2G spectrum subscriptions for cell phones. Recent scams involved Vyapam scam in M.P which causes various death in M.P and Bihar topper’s scam in which the toppers didn’t have the basic knowledge of the subject.

After reading about these spectrum I thought why these people does then I found various causes some of them are given below.

But the government has also taken various steps in order to reduce corruption and to bring back black money from various foreign banks. Also Narendra Modi is bringing systematic changes in our system which will help India in long run.The steps that he is taking will not just allow to catch corrupts but prevent corruption from happening. He is bringing in transparency and infusing technology. By e-auction of coal mines and e-auction of Spectre.

Last but not least I would like to conclude by a nice quote i.e. Corruption is like a Ball of snow, once its set rolling it will go on increasing .Despite of various effects by the government corruption is   there in India but the government is giving taking various steps to reduce corruption and hopefully corruption will reduce in future. But this corruption can reduce only when people change their priorit

LUXURY IN THE HIDDEN GEMS OF THE PACIFIC – COOK ISLANDS

0

Exotic Islands around the world confound even the biggest travel enthusiasts. With sublime beaches, exotic hotels, breath taking tourist destinations, and frequent celebrity sightings, they are undoubtedly the rage now.  These bad boys are scattered everywhere with Tahiti, Fiji, Seychelles and Maui being the hottest and the most frequented destinations. But there are some pearls hidden within the Pacific Ocean waiting to be discovered. And one such group of islands is ‘THE COOK ISLANDS’.

The Cook Islands are a set of self governing isles in the Southern Pacific Ocean. Surrounded by almost 200000 sq km of crystal clear water, this destination is a perfect blend of history and coeval culture. But the island’s historic elements don’t overweigh its contemporary nature. With a luxurious array of cafes, restaurants serving the most scrumptious food and a handful of bars to get set the mood for the night, it brings perfect balance for a modern day trip.

Along with its exquisite culture, The Cook Islands also boost of a number of serene and drool worthy locations. Rarotango, Aitutaki and Atiu are the biggest and the most prominent tourist spots. These locations are host to a number of adventure activities like scuba diving and other water sports. Along with these there are other translucent lagoons, volcanic terrains and palm laden, sun kissed beaches to explore and make the most of. With such an array of tourist spots to discover, it is evident that The Cook islands are a thriving market for the hospitality sector.

With a spread of ultra luxurious and ultra modern resorts, these islands have taken their hospitality game a step higher. The tourists have such a wide range of accommodations to choose from. Most of these resorts are 4 and 5 star and often placed by the sunny yellow beaches of the Cook Islands.

Once such resort, that managed to grab my attention was the ‘PACIFIC RESORT AITUTAKI’. Situated in Aitutaki, this resort is your one stop destination for all things luxurious. With a location so pristine,  ambience that oozes sophistication and services that make you feel welcomed and satisfied, there is no substitute to its radiance. And as the official website of the Cook Islands states, it is “an enclave of romance, refinement and luxury that beacons to even the most disheartening traveller’’.

The resort is surrounded by the beautiful, mystique waters of the Aitutaki Lagoon and boosts of 27 luxuriously endowed bungalows and villas. Pacific Resorts are the ultimate gateway for giving your soul the much needed relaxation and cleansing. All the magic starts on your flight from Roratanga to Aitutaki as you see the tiny islands start to surface on the turquoise sea. After landing on the airport, the resort provides free pick up service to the guests. From there you embark on your journey to the most magical resort on the Cook Island. Located at a distance of 4 km from the airport, this resort is easily accessible and at an earshot distance from the main city of Arutanga.

The Resort is strategically placed so that most of the markets, bars and tourist destinations are within a small range. The resort itself also provides many activities to its guests like snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking and a ukulele lessons. There is also a spa in the resort which provides almost all the beauty treatments and enchanting and rejuvenating massages.

The Pacific Resort has 27 opulent villas to choose from. Guest can choose anything from the premium beach front bungalows that are situated right on the white sand beach giving the guests a chance to wake up to the lush blue lagoons of Aitutaki to the ultimate beach front bungalow which offers a secluded and private affair for couples, overlooking the tranquil blue sea.

These rooms are spacious and possess of impeccable and flawless interiors. The washrooms are lined with exclusive marbles and most of these villas have open galleries which take you straight to the beaches. The rooms also boost of plush wooden decor along with a mini bar and 24 hrs. room service giving the guests an ultimate experience. The rooms are priced anything from 720 $ to 900 $ but every penny spent is worth the experience and the stay at the hotel.

The room decor of the resort might be flawless but it has a strong competition from the outdoor area of the complex. The resort flaunts an infinity pool that overlooks the blue sea, has a bar service which allows you to sip on those delicious cocktails while you pick a good tan. The resort also houses two of the finest restaurants of the Cook Islands namely the RAPAE BAY and BLACK ROCK CAFÉ.

These restaurants provide any array of local and international cuisines prepared by highly skilled chefs. They use only fresh and local produce to make some of the most unique food you can devour on. RAPAE BAY also has an assortment of the best wines from across the world to perfectly complement your food. The resort also makes arrangements by order for candle light dinner by the sea along with live jazz. Perfect for the most romantic getaway, isn’t it?

To sum it up, the Cook Islands are one of the most magical and scenic locations in the world. With beaches so good that you never want to go back, resorts so extravagant and luxuriously themed, that you will keep craving for more days, and an array of adventures activities to do. They are rightly called the gems of the pacific and their one such secret that you shouldn’t wait to discover.

India’s Daughter

0

She was sitting at a bar, squelching her sorrows with a bottle of bourbon. She wore a pretty dress with a plunging neckline, daring guys to approach her. Because if a girl wore something “revealing” it was invitation enough. She had her mascara streaming down her cheeks mingling with her tears. She was hurting but she was beautiful. It had been a rough night and she felt vulnerable, emotionally exposed. She had trusted and failed, again. Her heart was broken, she was nursing raw wounds. She looked up from her therapy and was stunned. Every guy was looking her way, ogling at her. She should’ve been flattered instead, she was nauseated. Clamping a hand to her mouth she fled. She kept running, pushing away drunk hands roaming her body. She ran as if her life depended on it, and it did.

In the clear air of the night, her foggy mind somewhat cleared. She thought of calling it a night and started walking homewards, thinking about right and wrong, occasionally humming a Bon Jovi song. It was like she had been doused in ice water when a man passing by sneered saying what a sexy body she had. She quickened her pace, a knot forming in her stomach. She was scared and just wanted to be home. She thought she was safe when she fled the bar and the hungry eyes of those wasted men; the eyes that were fixed on her cleavage.

Even then nobody noticed her smeared makeup, her tear strained face. Even then all they saw was her plunging neckline. So even when she got home safe she kept wondering was she really safe? Maybe she was, for now but the others? What about them? What about the countless other girls out by themselves in a bar somewhere? They weren’t safe. We aren’t safe. GIRLS aren’t safe.

ARE GIRLS SAFE?

So what should we do? The self proclaimed wise men say do not wear skimpy clothes, do not show skin that doing so we provoke men. They say do not go outside alone or be too friendly with guys that doing so we are giving them the right to molest us. The men in the bar gawked at her, judged her by her clothes, by the lack of company, and by her tenacious fingers on the whiskey bottle.

They assumed she was theirs to do as they pleased. But they failed to see her tears; didn’t think that maybe she just needed company. We never judge when a potbellied, middle-aged man wears clingy shorts while running. We never judge if a guy is sitting alone at a bar having drinks. Why then, do they judge if it’s their female counterparts doing the same stuff? They do not have any right to.

UNDERSTAND NOT OBJECTIFY

We do not dress to provoke. We do not dress to be marked as objects for people to judge. We dress for ourselves. We dress for our own pleasure. But this is something which is completely alien to the massive crowd of disparaging creatures prowling the earth and lurking around dark alleys, waiting for their next prey.

Because the concept of female sexuality and women’s right to do things for their own happiness is still far-fetched for many; because for men, women are still the weaker gender ruled by their domineering equivalent. That we remain vulnerable to them is pragmatic. So this New Year, get a new mentality, a new perspective:

Stop judging women by their clothes

Stop objectifying women for your chauvinism.

                         Stop this gender-terrorism!

A Trip called Life with Parents

0

Time never awaits anyone; that gone would always hold innumerable little moments we make. Never knowing what future holds in store for us we intend to hope for the best, while hoping for this best we should take advantage of the tiny speckles of happiness by gathering them in our baskets. Therefore the basket full of travel narratives should definitely contain at least a bunch of sojourns with our parents. Yes you heard it right!

The beautiful people on earth without whose utmost care, understanding and never ending love, the journey called life would totally have a different story. This world of trend setters has always captured various travelogues containing high profile details of travelling. While all that is truly drool worthy for youngsters to indulge in, I am here to try and lure you into taking the very next trip to wherever you wish to go with your parents and not preferably with your camera, phone and selfie-sticks.

Five reasons why we should definitely travel with our parents while growing up:

  1. Life is always busy. We run like maniacs towards our goals. Monotonous living becomes a perfect reason to sulk about. You all are going to grow up sooner than later. I say Stop! Pack your bags, hold onto your Parents’ hands and go out on a trip with them. Do this now rather than waiting for that one day to arrive. Reach out to them, enjoy to the fullest and create pages after pages of wonderful souvenirs.
  2. Growing up is unwillingly a bumpy phase of life. You change emotionally, physically as well as psychologically. You are surely going to be up for a break from it sometimes, right? If so what can be more fascinating than a journey with your Mom and Dad to someplace in your own country?
  3. In this long journey called Life, a very inevitable phenomenon occurs: we tend to build our own nests far away from our parents’ cocoon. We do forget that their lives are with us, surrounding us. Try this; take trips to not only revive your bonds but to make them feel you are not too far from them. I am sure we can afford this much of happiness for them.
  4. Every single moment is an experience in life. We need many such to deal with whatever survival throws at us. When we spend these moments with those who made it large for us, we add greater lessons to our life; for while a family that eats together stays together, the one that travels together bonds better.
  5. Trust me they really enjoy our company. They look forward to spending time with us. Our parents would never admit that they need us too. It is for us to comprehend that once we leave our homes we leave a lot behind. Perhaps we can never again spend all our time with them, but these little tours to here and there, they mean a lot to our parents.

Thus while we all love to travel, it should not be just a personal phenomenon to undertake. Share it with your mom and dad as well. Hope my little endeavor could kind of light the sparkle in your heart, give it a thought people. If you like to do whatever you have been dreaming about, make sure to try and dream about a tour with Mamma and Papa too, for growing up and going out with them makes our lives worth living.

Eight Short Films to Watch Before Going to Bed

Admit it, all of us love to get scared: Butterflies in stomach. Nervous perspiration. Pounding heartbeat. Faster breathing.

The cause of fright can vary, but the catalyst stays the same- our curiosity regarding the unknown, the unexplored; pushing the envelope, seeing how much fear we can tolerate, and the ultimate feeling of satisfaction after enduring the anxiety.

Here is a list of eight ‘handpicked’ short films, which are bound to give you some sleepless nights. I’ve kept the names random, nothing like-“Scariest to Least Scary”..

OMG Crap..Shit

8. Cop Cam

Eight Short Films to Watch Before Going to Bed
Hands up *Gulp*

The “Found Footage” genre is failing to pack the punch that they used to. If you have an affinity for “The Blair Witch Project”- inspired found footage which is not overdone or lazy, this little mind-fuck is for you.

7. Mama, Short film

Do you reckon the moments of waking up from sleep, only to find your mum has returned home! Best feeling ever, right?!

NOT ALWAYS THOUGH..

The film begins with a young girl waking up and telling her sister about the mother’s arrival. Much can’t be said without spoiling it’s impact.

Eight Short Films to Watch Before Going to Bed

Directed by Andres Muschietti, it has been made into a feature film as well, which, is also directed by the same guy. It stars Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau of ‘Game of Thrones’ fame (Jaime Lannister guys!!) among others.

6. Lights Out (A Short horror film)

Just imagine yourself, on a rainy cold night, getting ready for bed, walking through the hallway to reach your room. As you stopped to switch the hall light off, in the darkness at the other end of the hall, you see a shadow. A silhouette maybe. Something pretty much like a human…but not quite.

Eight Short Films to Watch Before Going to Bed
Jai Hanuman..

As you turn the lights back on, it’s gone. Turn the lights off again, the silhouette reappears.

Three minutes of nifty visual that gets really creepy, really quickly, playing on our distrust when it comes to darkness and our own perception. It teases the age old fear of glimpsing something in the dark or from the corner of the eye, not being certain if it’s real.

This quick-flick managed to land on many folk’s radar and now, it has its own full length feature.

5. 2 AM: The Smiling Man

There are few things more frightening than that which walk among us, but are not us. These are the things which are not human but are a short click away from reaching us with their masks off.

Eight Short Films to Watch Before Going to Bed
Not talking about him ladies..

Based on the notoriously infamous “Creepy Pasta/Urban Legend”, filmmaker Michael Evans’s “2 AM”, is just over four minutes in length and like the source material, contains only one line of dialogue!!

The legend of the Smiling Man has gone viral, with countless other similar sightings reported.

4. Creep

When driving the car at night, alone, while your eyes are on the road, following the parallel beams of the headlights, do you ever realize how dark it is in the back seat?

O dekho, bhoot hai shaab zi!!

The video starts with a woman driving at night, talking to her friend on phone. (Don’t use phone while driving!!)

By this point you know something is coming.

I believe you’ll turn every light inside the vehicle after watching this one.

3. Whisperer

“Oh! You must be hallucinating!”

Eight Short Films to Watch Before Going to Bed
Pappu PM?!

This is the very conclusion we end up with when someone claims to have seen something which comes under the category of “Supernatural”. Of course there are no ghosts, but people who hallucinate such entities are nevertheless victims! After watching this video, you’ll be forced to ask yourself “Is she sane?”, “Maybe she is really messed up”, “It’s legit, she is crazy”

“Maybe she is not lunatic.”

Whatever the case maybe, you’ll definitely feel a shiver down the spine if you hear someone whisper at night, after watching this film.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgG2-gcWjt4

2. Bedfellows

This one, you might’ve already seen.

Sometimes, three minutes and a cast of three is all you need to make people “shart” in their pants. A minimalist short film, it establishes, at the very beginning, shots of the darkened bedroom of happy couple- Rachel and Danny. Rachel is awakened by her phone ringing..and that’s enough spoilers!

Eight Short Films to Watch Before Going to Bed

This is the same studio which gave us “Creep”. You know what their motto is?

“Create Nightmares”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0z6xGU2_g9s

1. Reed

Jump scares are amazing, aren’t they?! We all hate that feeling which accompanies it but c’mon; who doesn’t like jump scares?!!

Reed breathes a new life into the genre of POV (Point of view) short films. With a brilliant design, the video leaves you pondering upon the thought-“What was that?!”

Eight Short Films to Watch Before Going to Bed

So in conclusion, make sure you don’t go of the noose, or better, don’t walk your dog at night.

Finally, I hope you hate me now. Please, do suggest some more short horror films which you think, can make our bladders vulnerable..

It has a 39 m hypotenuse that is parallel to the Earth’s axis and points toward the North Pole. On either side of the triangle is a quadrant with graduations indicating hours, minutes, and seconds. At the time of the Samrat Yantra’s construction, sundials already existed, but the Samrat Yantra turned the basic sundial into a precision tool for measuring declination and other related coordinates of various heavenly bodies.
