Getting Stoned v/s Getting Drunk

0

“Let’s get another drink said Swati.

Oohhh…I reaaalllyy don’t think that will be a guud idddea…” was my slurry reply to her.

Yes guys, by now you must have guessed that I am, what we say is “drunnkk”.

We were almost half a bottle down in our hostel room ( ;)) and she was suggesting more. I might be drunk more than her but surely her decision seems to be affected much more than mine.

But according to her drunk logic, getting more drunk means having much more fun!

“Oooh come on don’t be a party pooperrrr…it’s still so much left in the bottle, how will I finish it all by myself,” she said with her pouty lips and puppy face.

Can anyone say no to that…NO! So HOW could I?

And that was how I and my best friend got drunk for the very first time. We drank till dawn, danced our asses off, turned our room into one hell of a mess, and, oh yes, we had the mother of all hangovers.

Don’t you dare look at me with those judgmental eyes!!

It’s something we humans have been doing for ages, and it goes by many names: getting inebriated, hammered, wasted, housed, trashed, and of course drunk. And I am pretty sure many of you guys do too or may want to try it out as well. Otherwise let’s face it you guys wouldn’t have clicked this link. Right?

Those rib tickler laughs, never ending “I loooovvee you sooo much”, those sexy dance moves (you know what I mean by sexy, don’t you?), drinking games, guilty confessions and unfathomable hunger makes getting drunk one of the most remember able nights of our college parties or if it maybe turn out, may even be one of the most forgetful nights because of all the freaking dementia (or is it just me?).

It takes one drink to get me drunk. The trouble is, I can’t remember if it’s the thirteen or the fourteenth..!!(Kudos to this guy, he definitely knew me.)

On the contrary, getting stoned is totally different. It is when you are unable to move your muscles; everything feels weird and you kind off sit back with your mouth agape staring off into space, smiling and enjoying every single moment that goes by.

Getting stoned and getting high, are different from the idea that you feel like you are being weighed down by big heavy stones. The body becomes flaccid unable to move and you feel as light as a feather.

“Dude, I am flooaaaatingggggg”

Hey man, I can’t move my legs….wooaaahhhhh I am stoned!”

Aren’t these some of the most commonly used terms by today’s youth?

“The Buzz” is described as the first stage of getting stoned, after two to three deep inhales of “The Stuff”, which make you floaty or buzz.

Then comes “The High”, when almost a joint is finished by an individual that takes you at an even higher level of buzz.

And then, it’s the final stage “Getting Stoned”. It’s when the perception of time slows down, a 5 minute long track feels as if it were to go on for more than a lifetime.

Both the delights have their own pros and cons. But I will always be biased towards “Getting Drunk”,as it creates a feeling of euphoria and makes you more talkative and courageous than ever. You see everything through vaseline covered lens, people are more attractive, hurts are not as painful, people are funnier, even the boring places are a lot of fun, and for some, socializing becomes like a walk in the park. Whereas “Getting Stoned” makes you less talkative, paranoid, tired and you might even have the trouble of concentrating. You will begin hallucinating, forgetting what you were saying in the mid-sentence, and then all you want to do is to be off to your la~la land (some may call it their dream land).

FYI: I am absolutely NOT a weed person! 😀

Well it’s up to you guys to decide which one you like better, and as I say college is the time to do all because never in life you will get the excuse to do such stupid things. So choose which one you like better may be you will change my mind.

In the end guy’s alcohol is not the answer, but it does make you forget the question….!!(;))

ITHAA: The Undersea Restaurant

Girl enjoying underwater life in famous 5.8 undersea restaurant on Hurawalhi, Maldives

There are various astounding underwater restaurants around the world. Most of them are hardly known. Among these, Ithaa (means “mother of pearl”) is the world’s first all-glass undersea restaurant, where you can dine five metres below sea level at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island resort. Ithaa is the exceptional undersea restaurant of its kind on the planet. The 270 degree panoramic view allows visitors to dine while watching thousands of fish, reefs and other marine life without getting wet.

The acrylic structured restaurant has a capacity of 14 people with a transparent roof. The restaurant was opened on in April 2005.It is so skillfully structured that even the tsunami which followed the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake surprisingly caused no damage to the restaurant. It is designed by the Kuala Lumpur National Science Center and the building is qualified as the world’s largest aquarium tunnel. Its development was exceptionally ambitious. The entire 175-tonne structure was constructed in Singapore before being transported to Maldives. The maintenance is not that easy, the glass has to be cleaned everyday from outside and it costs a lot. However, the estimated life span of the restaurant is 20 years.

You can also book the restaurant for private parties and weddings. The restaurant is magical, more like walking down to a Utopian world through a dark windy staircase. While dinning, you can encounter distinctive fishes of various shapes and sizes and beautiful reefs that are beyond imagination. While the view steals the show, the food is great too. The cuisines are exceptionally delicious with extravagant add-ins, for example, caviar, lobster, or foie gras along with the supper. The menu consists of four-course lunch and six-course dinner in contemporary European style which is executed in an efficient manner. The lunch is lighter while the wine rundown offers a definitive of wines: champagne. Ithaa serves mainly caviar and Maldivian lobster. However you can order various fish menus unless you are not guilt stricken to eat it in front of its lineage! Since Maldives have very little agricultural value, so most of its weekly food has to be imported. Some of the famous desserts are: 57% dark chocolate mousse, rice crispy base & Valencia orange parfait, valrhona chocolate vantage, white chocolate praline, salty caramel sable, mango sorbet etc. Ithaa occasionally welcomes guest chefs from all around the world.

Since the restaurant is only open to guests of the Conrad Rangali, you can stay at the five-star resort, a wonderful place to stay and is spread over two islands connected by a bridge. So, go ahead and experience dining at one of the most iconic underwater structures in the world with your family and friends. It would be ideal if you can book the resort 14 days before especially when it is high time for vacation. Though the cuisines are expensive but your experience at Ithaa will be a memorable one. I will suggest saving money by having just a cocktail at the restaurant as the unforgettable experience matters the most. This will be a once in a lifetime experience at this massive Maldives restaurant. Folks! Ithaa awaits you.

Madness of Gods

0

Love, is it an understatement or is it overrated by today’s youth? Is it a way to express how you feel about someone or it’s just a mere emotion? Well, for some reckless minds like mine it means the world. Love is passion, an attitude, hunger so strong in itself that it makes everything appear so diminished. According to ancient Greeks the word love means “madness of gods”. Well certainly, love defines sanctity of soul, purest of every emotion. But what happens when love takes a step ahead and you are left with nothing but ashes of memories which haunt you for the rest of your life? The dark smoke rising up high in the air has tales to tell. All you want to do is reside in a shell, break down and cry. You want to tell the world how badly it hurts but you don’t do any such thing. You put your strong face forward and a kind smile. Over the years you learn how to survive, how to deal with loneliness. You try to hide the havoc you have created in your head but they have started noticing eyes within the liar. The darkness seems all beautiful and heavenly when the “love” dims it’s virtual existence. But again and again his face, those glittering eyes flash in front of you making you weaker with the hope of union. Your search in the sand is wasted cause things you are looking for are far away than buried. And with unsuccessful attempts to reach my “madness of gods”, i give up on the unreal dream cause I have met dead end every time love crosses my mind. In the process of moving on, most of the times there is a friend who has got your back. He is always around, whether you need a shoulder to cry on or someone you need to dance on celebratory little moments. He locates the rainbow after heavy rain or drizzly situations for you. You start to feel comfortable with yourself again unlike a soulless body. You don’t realize when did he start  seeing you as his  “madness of God”. He is too scared to pray to you to be his after all he knows what you are made up of. Ashes of past, one blow and it might blind you both. He is like an angel to you at one point of time and once he unapologetically reveals his feelings, you see a devil trying to grab his opportunity. You feel cheated, your friendship defeated. You try harder, to understand his feelings towards you. Now you understand why love walked away in the first place. It is not something you can force on someone or force yourself into for that matter. It just happens to cross your way but the hurt stays a while longer than you wish. And the ache makes you imperishable.

The Schema of Good “Wayfaring”

0

To search for the perfect moments do we travel far and wide. Travelling is indeed an experience of how we survive outside the boundaries of our homely atmosphere. Considering such a view it becomes very important to travel well equipped and perfectly packed with all the “Knicks and knacks” of the journey ahead. Listed below are some of the very essential “follow-ups” which might help one to sojourn well:

  1. Make a list:

Travelling should definitely be organized. Even if it’s an unplanned trip make sure you jot down all that you wish to carry with you on a list. The very foremost of all fundas of wayfaring are probably a “to-take” list.  And, yes do carry it along with you so that you do not misplace anything; moreover having a list makes it easier for future use, does it not?

  1. Travel light:

We don’t need to overburden ourselves with things we are hardly going to use while on a trip. A trolley bag and a handbag or a backpack should definitely fit all you need. If we manage we can survive well with the minimum of things we carry with ourselves. I mean why move around with your whole cupboard just for a few days?

  1. Don’t binge buy:

It is funny to notice how going on trips carries back home with it loads of things that we buy and which hardly find a place in our lives, leave alone our households. We really don’t need to overload ourselves with whatever any shop puts up on sale while on the go. Yes it indeed is necessary to bring back some memories but then not something which would end up at one corner of our house totally forgotten or out of use. Memories can be made without burning bucks on absolutely useless things as well, can it be not?

  1. A contact book:

When any other form of communication fails pen and paper work wonders. Just a small notebook with your name, address, any serious ailments one suffers from along with a few contacts to reach out to: when in trouble. That’s pretty simple a follow-up, is it not?

  1. Some hidden cash:

Whenever you travel opting for cashless payment is indeed a good choice but carrying hidden cash is essential too, some bucks tugged in somewhere inside your bag in case you need them. Hidden cash even comes handy when you end up spending a lot more than the stipulated amount on your trip.

  1. Grab a visiting card of the hotel you stay at:

Tourist places are unknown to us, we might often forget the place we are staying at, in such a situation a visiting card comes in very handy. Not only do you get the phone number to contact the hotel people when you need it but also when you forget your way back. If the hotels are not able to provide you with such cards, remember to jot down the name, landmark and phone number of the given accommodations.

  1. Carry your mini first-aid box:

Emergency situations as I have already written about do not occur with prior notice. A small bag full of some very essential first aid items should be an important part of your travel bag and if you accompany someone who has needs continuous medical assistance carrying a medicine box becomes a very important thing, as we really wish to have a hassle free journey, don’t we?

  1. Carry your medical records:

Apart from the first aid box one thing should also be added to your bag, if you or anyone who tags along with you suffers from any serious ailments then you should remember to carry your medical records with you. Furthermore Google allows enough information about good doctors in any tourist place, make sure to do a search online and take down information in case of emergency. As I mentioned earlier we all need a hassle free travel. Ensuring yours and your family’s safety should be a priority always, right?

  1. Carry power banks:

We are all stuck to our phones, plus we are far away from our homes. A technology like this is definitely a “must-have” and a very important part of our travel bags. It helps you remain properly connoted for emergency situations occur unannounced, it is always better to prevent than to find a cure, right?

  1. Drink packaged drinking water:

Travelling needs you to be healthy, if you are a person with a “weak-tummy” then carrying your share of packaged drinking water becomes a must. Even if you are fit and fine it’s no harm to spend some bucks on water rather than spending them on medicines later. Moreover keeping yourself hydrated is very important, is it not?

  1. Avoid spicy and unhealthy food:

While we Indians are big foodies, it must be taken into account that unhealthy food needs to be avoided. Eat well while you are on the go. Definitely indulge in the local delicacies but avoid over-eating things. If you want it then eat it, but prefer to keep a check on what you might be eating. A healthy body makes a fitter mind to travel, right?

  1. Dry foods are a must:

I have often felt too hungry while on the move, I would always wish to keep on munching something or the other. This can be your condition too, so before you leave on the journey grab some dry foods that can easily be carried and have a long shelf-life.

There we go fellas, these are some of those important notifications to your travel minds, go around immerse yourselves in the aura of the wanderlust. Travelling had always been a much loved phenomenon in all my life, hence I really wished to share certain good habits of mine with all so that just like I enjoy the ease of surfing through the land you all get it too. Hope my little effort reaches out to all those wayfarers like me.

STRANGE FACTS ABOUT DREAMS

STRANGE FACTS ABOUT DREAMS

Dreams are natural phenomenon which occur every night while we are asleep. If there is something that we all do, it’s the fact that we all dream in some form or another. Dreams are stories that our mind creates while we are asleep . Sometimes the dreams we see are so unusual that we refrain from believing onto it.Even scientists have not been able to find out the reason behind dreams .

Dreams can be entertaining, fun, romantic, shocking and mysterious. We often do not remember our dreams but nobody can refrain from the point that dreams don’t squatter their mind while they are asleep . We may never know what our dreams will mean exactly, but there are some strange facts associated with our dreams –

Dreams Have The Ability To Send Us A Message

There are so much more to dreams than random images and people we see in our minds. Our dreams have the ability to send us a message and help us cope with a stressful situation in our lives. Dream therapy isn’t too far off the radar when it comes to helping people cope with the issues in their lives. Dreams often replicate what is happening with us or something which is about to happen in advance .

If you seem to see the same dream many times it might be a signal for you to be alert .

Sleep Paralysis

When we enter rapid eye movement sleep, or better known as the REM stage our brain releases a chemical in the body so that we are paralyzed to movement. This makes it so we don’t acts out our dreams while we are asleep. However sometimes we wake up while the chemical is still active in our body and we hallucinate as well being unable to move thus causing the terrifying phenomenon called as Sleep Paralysis.

Though it is not very evident but sometimes when it happens it is quite terrifying. It really triggers our mind through it’s hazardous impact and thus we end up hallucinating in such a critical stage.

Animals Also Dream

We humans dream while we are asleep but have you ever thought whether animals dream or not? The answer is animals dream similarly as we humans dream .So now when you see a dog smiling while they are asleep he might actually be having a dream that his body is responding to.

Studies have shown that animals dream exactly like we humans do and they have similar brain waves to we human . This is the reason they experience the same as we humans do while falling asleep .

We Forget 90% Of Our Dreams

We all see so many dreams while we are asleep but we hardly remember them. On an average our memory retains only 10% of our dreams. Other than that everything gets deleted from our memory lane.

Considering if we have over 150,000 dreams in a lifetime; that’s 15,000 dreams that we DO remember. This is really very less that our mind registers.

No Strangers Allowed

When we dream about other people, even people we don’t think we have ever met they all have faces that we have seen in real lives. Our brain isn’t capable of creating or visualizing a unique face but instead it takes inspiration from faces we have seen in our waking lives.

So that creepy stranger you might see in your dream is actually someone you have already met. You might not remember the person in your dream. However, a person only dreams of people he/she has met or seen in life.

Men VS Women

Men tend to have more aggressive dream than women .They tend to dream more about other men as well. While women tend to dream equally about both genders . But interestingly enough first born males do not have as many aggressive dreams and first born females have more aggressive dreams .It just goes to show how similar yet wonderfully different men and women can be.

Dream And Perception

We tend to dream according to the perception of life .This can cause certain phenomenon in our dream where we might not be able to dream in color but instead dream in black and white. Our perception of life can interwine with our dreams and outside forces can influence the course of our dreams while we sleep. For example a noise that might be going off in the room that you are sleeping in may be interpreted as something else in your dream.

So these were some jaw dropping facts about dreams which would have surely startled your mind.So now when you fall asleep you would know much more about your dreams.

Journey to our 25th Valentine’s Day

4

Love is not a bed of roses and now I understand this phrase very well.

I felt the enormous love along with the severe pain of our separation. True love never dies? Yeah, I guess so. I won’t say that it is too long of enjoying togetherness because now also we need to walk many miles. Our love will be successful only when we will take our last breath together in each other’s arms. Because I don’t want to live any single moment when you are not with me. That moment will not be less than a punishment for me in which you won’t be there.

Our relationship is not a serious romantic type of relationship. It’s different, completely different. It’s cute, funny and funky type of relationship. There is no hesitation between us. We are like free birds who can fly in the whole sky anywhere but we know that we are going to end up with each other only.

I still remember our first Valentine’s Day. We were so shy at that time. I gifted you a pen, it was too embarrassing for me. But you nailed it perfectly with that cute pink teddy, musical card and with that stuffed red heart. 25 years are passed but till now I have those gifts and are always close to my heart. It always feels that yesterday only we met and our love story feels so fresh to me.  There are many love stories but ours is best.

For a successful relationship both love buds should show some effort always to stay with each other. They should always make each other feel special because this always keep the freshness of the relationship.

As flowers need water for keeping themselves fresh, similarly to prevent the relationship from staling some kind of appreciation and love after some duration is very important. Loving is easy but keeping it is the most difficult part of the relationship. Meeting daily or talking daily is not important but how you meet or how you talk matters. Some kind of personal space is required too. Every relation is dependent on the trust, if trust is not there then nothing is there.

All these rules of love were followed by us and that’s why our love is still blooming and will bloom forever. Do you remember that when we just started to date then everyone used to say that our relation won’t go further but we made it, we have closed their mouths with our enormous love. Now we are happily married and are the parents of 2 grownup kids too. Like a normal couple we faced many ups and downs too but we survived it together like a warrior. We smelled the aroma of rose but the thorns of it pinched us too. I have learnt one thing that whenever you feel like saying, “I love you” then just say it without giving it a second thought. When these 3 magical words are spelled with feelings then they work as miracle and can leave anyone blushing.

Before becoming husband and wife, it’s important to become friends who can share everything. We are besties who can share each and everything. Whenever you are not there and I feel like hugging you then I simply wrap my arms around myself and remember our previous hugs. This gives me strength and ability to control myself to stick around you. I was a clingy girlfriend but as the waves passed through our feet we became more mature and handled the life more beautifully.

Right now, I am writing it for you and you are telling the bed time stories to our kids. You are the best father and the best life partner a person can dream of. I just love you and through this I just wanted to express it. I love you and will always do and will love to celebrate every valentine’s day with you.

Her daughter did that and after her censorship, most of her original journals were destroyed.

0

team is a group of people linked in a common purpose. A team becomes more than just a collection of people when a strong sense of mutual commitment creates synergy, thus generating performance greater than the sum of the performance of its individual members. Each team is combination of different type of  people with different nature. Every individual has different qualities  and these different qualities combine to form a team .

Plant= A plant in a team is valued for their ability to come up with strange and innovative solution. He can also be considered as innovator.  These types of people like to spend most of their time quietly working alone. This is because working alone helps them to find a solution of their problem. Most of the time these type of people give solution to various problem faced by the group. So these types of members on a group are the combination of innovator and problem solver. The only problem with them is that they may have trouble in communicating their ideas to other member of the group.

Resource investigator =these type of people have inbuilt Wikipedia as they are excellent net-workers who express themselves clearly and they vigorously pursue opportunities outside the team.
