Tattoos the Art of Ink

0

How new things sometimes repel us from itself. It was when I was growing up , I heard about people getting inked . I , personally, was never in favour of getting a tattoo on my body as for me , I didn’t get the idea of inflicting so much pain on one’s body parts for getting it painted in some angular or floral or calligraphic forms.
One day, while surfing the internet, I read something that hit me hard enough to change my perception . There it said: “Tattoos- The only thing you take to your grave.” These words carved into me the love for tattoos as it felt to be the only permanent thing in life then.
However , getting something on your body so permanent that you probably don’t want to get rid of is a mental impression to be properly hunched upon. Moreover, don’t you want to add deep meanings to your tattoos so that it could sound significant even after 10 or 15 years ? Here’s the space where I could give you a little help.

So,tattoo lovers, following are some of the tattoos with deep meanings :

  1. The Sun , the ocean and the mountain.

    Tattoos the Art of Ink

This alluring tattoo has a meaning deep enough to impress onto your minds. the Sun here depicts hope, ocean success or rise and mountain for firmness. So, fused together, there is hope , should ocean rise , mountains fall.

2. Compass:

                             Tattoos the Art of Ink

The basic meaning of this sign is direction but in today’s industry of art and fashion, it has got diverse meanings .For some, this sign stands for focus, for the tattoo bearer to remember the importance of focus in life and future.

Whereas, for some, this symbol designate the idea of leaving their jones , getting past a bad phase and starting a firm and fresh life ahead.

3. Swallow :Tattoos the Art of Ink

This symbolises Return . This is inspired from the belief that like how Swallow always return to San Juan Capistrano , it should help the bearer to make a return to its life . Also, it depicts the notion that if the sailor of life (the human) drowns ,the swallow will fetch their essence to the celestial city or Nirvana.

4. Bare Tree :
Tattoos the Art of Ink

The Bare Tree depicts sacrifice or Loss. A tree without leaves symbolises the forfeiture of a loved one or reminiscence of the lost lover or loved ones.

5. Semi- Colon :Tattoos the Art of Ink

This exemplifies Continuation.  It means a ‘pause’ in a sentence and not an end. It says that sometimes, in life, it seems that everything is on an end but it, eventually, goes on.

6. World Map:Tattoos the Art of Ink

This is for those travel bugs who love to explore different languages, intellects , etiquette, places, etc and in short, i meant the world . For some, it also ,means carrying the world onto yourself.

7.Infinity:Tattoos the Art of Ink

This is distinctly popular for the Never Ending Journeys or Loops. It also means endless love or the idea of Rebirth and Reincarnation as well. It defies the idea of limitations and gives a hope for never ending opportunities. This symbol also depicts the universe and all its possibilities.

8. The Sun and The Moon:Tattoos the Art of Ink

THE HATE CRIME- A NEW NORMAL

0

He was just a 16 years old , oblivious of his fate when he set out of his house to the old city of Delhi with his band in order to shop for Eid. He was just an ordinary guy with a small dream in his heart of becoming an Imam one day. He was Junaid. Hafiz Junaid.

It seemed a total normal Thursday evening until the news broke out about this minor Muslim boy who was allegedly stabbed when a heated argument took place for seats on a Mathura – bound train. Junaid and his friends were called ‘beef-eaters’ and ‘anti-nationals’. This fray took a turn when the man stabbed Junaid to death.
This horrifying incident left us all baffled. After this dismay, several protests were launched in different cities of the country. A protest ‘Not In My Name’ took everyone in the storm which was reckoned by a Gurgaon-based filmmaker Saba Diwan. The protest was initially planned to be held only at the monument called Jantar Mantar at the centre of Delhi . This idea swept a very supportive response across the country and on social media. After this huge success , London, Toronto and Boston was decided to be the next destinations for this protest on 29th of June. Some other stations pointed for this protest in the country were Civil lines in Allahabad , Gandhi Nagar in Jaipur , Bangalore Town Hall in Bengaluru , Promenade on the Carter Road in Mumbai, High Court Junction in Kochi, etc.
In a post on Facebook, Diwan said ,
“Shouldn’t there be protests against the lynchings especially after the murder yesterday in Delhi NCR by a mob of a 16-year-old Muslim boy? If not now then when? Why wait for political formations to organise a demonstration? Why can’t all of us as citizens repulsed by the violence get together in protest at the earliest next week at Jantar Mantar under the banner – Not in my Name”.

THE HATE CRIME- A NEW NORMAL

Many celebrities came up for support and walked this nationwide protest along with the commoners. Such religious gaps seems difficult to be filled now. Those men killed him for being a Muslim. They subjected him to a murderous assault for being loyal to his religion. He became the victim of the hate crime just for being a muslim in this country.

Renuka Sahane, the well known actress took to Facebook again to voice her opinion on this incident. She said something which we all were missing. In her words , :

NOT IN MY NAME
Junaid was lynched by a mob of cruel human beings. I don’t care what religion those lynchers belonged to. Nor do I care what religion Junaid belonged to. I only care about one thing. A group of mean, cruel human beings killed a teenager and assaulted three other young men brutally!
Junaid was 16.
My elder son will turn 16 next year.
My heart breaks for Junaid’s mother.
Not only did a group of cruel human beings kill Junaid, another group of cruel human beings egged them on. Junaid was also killed by those cruel people who witnessed the insanity & chose to remain silent.
There are some cruel people who justify this lynching.
Yes! Hate allows for all sorts of justification.
There has been a long list of these lynchings. It has become so common that no one talks about it. Nobody asks questions about what happened to the perpetrators. Whether they were caught & given the strictest punishment or whether they were released to unleash more violence!
I cannot fathom how anyone can kill unarmed, innocent human beings!
I cannot fathom how people can justify this horrific violence!
Instead of taking law into their own hands why are police complaints not made?
Is it because the lynch mob knows that there is no reason behind what they have done?
All they want to do is to kill in the name of hate.
Whichever religion, ideology, language, ethnicity you belong to, lynching done in any name cannot be condoned!
We’ve suffered so many riots, terrorist attacks, pogroms, lynchings but we haven’t learnt anything.
The bottom line is that innocent human beings become the target of that hate. They are usually poor. They are usually those who are incapable of fighting back. It is really too, too disheartening.
Innocence dies when hate rules!
I cannot be a part of those who encourage hate.
I was with the Ekta Manch marching from Parel to Azad Maidan singing ” Hum hongey kaamyaab….” to promote brotherhood between fellow citizens of all faiths in 1993 after the horrendous riots followed by the heinous bomb blasts in Mumbai.

I marched to the Gateway of India to protest the utter failure & crass mishandling of 26/11 by the then Congress Govt in the State and the Centre in 2008.
I supported the Anna Hazare anti corruption movement when he waged the civil battle against the UPA 2 Govt at the Centre.

I was vocal about women’s safety after the horrendous rape & murder of Jyoti Singh as well as Pallavi Purkayastha as well as the sickening hacking of Swathi.
Today I stand firmly against the lynch mentality that has an active political patronage in our country.
I do not belong to any political party. I am a citizen of one of the finest democracies in the World. That is why it is so important for all of us to respect & protect the tenets of our Constitution.
I, as a proud citizen of India, do not conform to the views of anyone who actively or passively supports this lynching.
My allegiance lies with the Constitution of India.
If the Govt or any other body does anything to undermine the basic tenets of democracy in our country, I will vocally oppose it.
I so wanted to be a part of the peaceful civil protest at Carter Road today but I can’t. But I will not be a part of this hate!
I do not want my children to inherit this hate.
I will not have the blood of innocents on my hands.
NOT IN MY NAME!”

Well , India , please set us free from such daunting atrocities in the name of religion . We share the same blood and same anger. Break this deafening silence and fight for the right. We don’t want some another Junaid to be killed in the light of such headings.

Tips for a Manageable monsoon

0

Rain can be romantic but for people who need to step out of the house, it can be pretty problematic. Water logged streets, mud and not to forget the moisture in the air – it does not sound like one’s ideal dream. Nonetheless, this is when you can embrace the dainty look or go bold with your style.

Anything full length should be tucked way behind your wardrobe right now. You definitely do not want a muddy hemline on your way to work or to college. This is the right time to wear shorts , hot pants and capris.

Denim is best avoided because it takes a long time to dry once wet. But if you feel most comfortable in denim go for the cotton mixed ones which are more light and easy to wash. You can try rugged shorts or capris with long over-sized shirts. Think Alia’s look in Dear Zindagi.

Tips for a Manageable monsoon

Cute printed shorts add the much needed spark during the gloomy monsoon. Choose floral or geometric print in bright colours. You can also try army print shorts with a solid colour tank top for a cool look.

Tips for a Manageable monsoon

Embrace checked or striped shorts to bring out your nerdy side and style it with geek glasses and a messy bun. Layered lace shorts and fringed shorts are the new in thing. Avoid sheer materials this season.

Tips for a Manageable monsoon

Tips for a Manageable monsoon

Short skirts with lot of volume always look great. If you have the figure for mini skirts then flaunt it wearing denim or cotton skirts with bright crop tops.

Tips for a Manageable monsoon

Off shoulders and cold shoulders are in vogue and you can accessorize them with ear cuffs or long sleek chains.

Tips for a Manageable monsoon

Calf length palazzos are a bold statement but look great if you pull it off with confidence. Try dark solid colours and avoid white as it is difficult to manage. Wear fitted tops and sport a ponytail.

Tips for a Manageable monsoon

Maxi dresses are a big no-no . Short dresses in all cuts and design look great. During monsoon avoid covered shoes like boots and sneakers in leather or canvas as they take forever to dry if wet.

Wear cute flip-flops in vibrant shades. Jelly shoes and semi-transparent ballerinas are ideal for the weather. Try different styles in braids like fishtail or French braid as open hair is difficult to manage due to excess moisture. Wear waterproof makeup to avoid looking like a mess. Keep it simple with tinted lip balm and kajal.

For formals pencil skirts are the best choice. It should be tailored properly. Pair it with proper fitted shirts in pastel shades and keep your hair neat in either a pony or a bun. Wear minimal makeup and accessories.
Tips for a Manageable monsoon

Carry colourful umbrellas and waterproof bags as they are real life savers. Manage the monsoon with might with these tips!

Cafe, A word that is pretty common to hear. We know every city has tons of cafes scattered around. It is probably a regular hangout place for many of us. But have you ever imagined how it would be if you could pay to experience an earthquake spilling drinks on your well-ironed clothes? Or if girls dressed as French Maids would offer spoon feeding you? Or else if you could enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee while being surrounded by a bunch of purring cats? Well, these intriguing questions summarize this whole blog!

Businesses are formulating all kinds of unique concepts to attract more customers. Good for us, isn’t it? This list has your not-so-cliché types of cafes you will find all around the world. Let’s dive into this list of weird and fascinating coffee houses!

Cosplay Cafes

Bizarre yet Amazing cafes in the world

Bored of the same old waiters and waitresses? Commonly referred to as the maid cafes, these Cosplay cafes have been trending since their introduction in the 2000s. The wait staff’s apparels, food, decor and the overall layout of the shop is based on a theme or fantasy. The Cosplay cafes have many subcategories, the most popular being maid cafes. If you are an anime fan, there is a high chance that you have this in your to-visit list. Let’s focus on the maid cafes for now.

“Welcome home, master (mistress)!” A common practice in such a place is to treat the guests as masters and mistresses. Taking pictures inside the cafe or asking for the maid’s personal information is not allowed. The cafes cater to a vast range of services like massages or in some cases, even spoon-feeding and ear cleaning (extra money for all this though). They’ll let you take a picture with the maids, for a fee of course. Since the whole concept is revolving around the theme of cutesy, the food is also not an exception. The food, decorated with adorable designs, would probably bring a smile on many faces. Even though they have often been a synonym to cringe, Maid cafes are loved by a lot of people, evident by the fact that they are so popular.

Bizarre yet Amazing cafes in the world

Cosplay Cafes have become so increasingly popular that they have expanded their idea overseas to places aside from Japan like Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand, China, Australia and many more countries!

Animal Cafes

Bizarre yet Amazing cafes in the world

Imagine a scenario; you want to buy yourself a feline companion. You walk into your new apartment, greeted by a grumpy old owner and the next thing you see is a sign. “Pets not allowed”

Sometimes due to such situations, or because of lack of space or even because of a busy schedule, people are unable to get themselves a furry companion. Animal cafes work like a healing concoction for these people and have become significantly popular all around the globe. First introduced in 1998, Taiwan, the concept became a huge hit when it entered the lanes of Tokyo. North America, Australia, Europe, you name any country, they will have at least one cat cafe. We even have one here in India.

Animal cafes are not just restricted to cats though. They include dog, bunny, bird, even goat, and snake cafes. Would you pet a snake if you had the chance? I’ll pass on that one.

There are also dog cafes that encourage you to bring your pet dog and enjoy a drink or two with it. Pretty classy!

Bizarre yet Amazing cafes in the world

Not enough? Here are a few more!

Board games cafe

Nothing is better than a hot cup of coffee while watching your opponent struggle with his next chess move. Another popular type of cafe that lets you play as well as buy board games and you can devour your snacks alongside. You can choose from a huge library of games, take part in occasional tournaments, and a relief from boring evenings, at last!

Bizarre yet Amazing cafes in the world

Sewing Cafe

If you enjoy sewing and want a little break, this Parisian cafe has got your back! A small cafe in France lets you rent a sewing machine and enjoy chatting or getting tips and tricks from other visitors. Tasty sweets, singers in the background, and clicking of sewing machines are certainly soothing to the ears.

Bizarre yet Amazing cafes in the world

Disaster Cafe

To shake things up a bit, a cafe in Lloret de Mar, Spain, let’s you experience the thrill of a 7.8 earthquake while enjoying your favorite snack. Heavy plates are used to avoid food flying across the room. The weird thing is that you never know when the earthquake will strike. All you can do is patiently wait (or eat) till the incoming jump scare.

The placed seemed to have grown popular to such an extent that is started attracting tourists. Unfortunately, it has been permanently closed down.

Bizarre yet Amazing cafes in the world

Mahika Mano

A cafe in Japan combines two most glorious things. Hammocks and coffee! This cafe has hammocks instead of chairs. Swing, relax and take a nap in this soothing little cafe. The laid-back and comforting atmosphere of this place adds to its charms!

Bizarre yet Amazing cafes in the world

Ziferblat Cafe

What if I told you there’s a place where you can taste 43 types of coffee for free and pay only for the time you spent at that place? A chain of cafes know by the name Ziferblat, in the UK, offers Wi-Fi, board games, piano, cakes, coffees, literally everything just for 5 pence (4.20 Indian rupees) per minute. There is no minimum time limit, no VAT or service taxes. The friendly staff and beautiful infrastructure make it a totally praise-worthy concept! You could have a cup of coffee for just a few coins if you’re fast enough.

He said, “It’s a sense of satisfaction because I proved all of them wrong. All of them said ‘kya hero banega (how will he become a hero)’ when I set out. When I go back now they say ‘isne toh karke dikhaya (he has done it)’. I made it possible.”

Health and Beauty benefits of Cucumbers
