Another feature that can cause DNS leaks. Normally, SMHNR would be useful to increase Internet speeds. It sends out DNS requests to all available DNS servers and chooses whichever responds the fastest. Pretty neat, right? Except this may cause DNS requests to go through your ISP rather than your VPN.

  14. Coriander leaves – 1 tablespoon
  15. Water – As needed

  18. Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon

Method –

  1. The number of raw bananas to be used depends on its size. I had used 3 raw bananas of medium size. You can use how many you want.
  2. Remove the peel of raw banana and cut in small pieces. Soak the cut pieces in water for some time. Chop chilli, onion, garlic, ginger and tomato finely.
  3. Heat a pan and put oil to it. Then add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and asafoetida to it. Let them splutter.
  4. Put onion, garlic, chilli, ginger and fry well. Fry till the raw smell disappears. Then add tomato to it. Sautee very well. Cook till the tomato becomes mushy.
  5. Put raw banana to it. Then add salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and garam masala to it. Mix very well.
  6. Add little water to it. Stir and then cover the pan for few minutes. Remove cover and check whether raw banana has become soft or not.
  7. Mix well on high flame. Then garnish it with coriander leaves.

Method –

  1. The number of raw bananas to be used depends on its size. I had used 7 raw bananas of small size. You can use how many you want.
  2. Remove the peel of raw banana and cut in small pieces. Soak the cut pieces in water for some time. Chop chilli, onion, garlic and capsicum finely.
  3. Put raw banana pieces to this batter and mix well. The batter should neither be thick nor thin. It should coat all the raw banana pieces.
  4. Heat a pan and put sufficient oil to it. Add raw banana pieces in batches and fry them. Fry till the raw banana pieces become crisp. Keep them aside.
  5. In the same pan, heat oil and put onion to it. Then add garlic, chilli, capsicum and fry till the raw smell disappears.
  6. Then put salt and pepper powder to it. Fry till they get cooked. Add tomato sauce to it and mix well.
  7. If there is any batter left in the bowl, then add Maggi Magic cube, water to it and mix. If there is no batter left, then mix 1 teaspoon of cornflour and Maggi Magic cube with some water.
  8. Add this to the pan where other ingredients have been sauteed. Mix thoroughly so that a gravy forms. Cook till the gravy turns glossy.
  9. Put the fried raw banana pieces to this gravy. Mix very well so that the raw banana pieces get coated with the gravy. Serve it hot.

This is an appetizing dish made from raw banana cutlets sauteed in a creamy gravy. You can eat this with rice, chapati, puri or paratha.

  14. Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
  15. Cinnamon – A piece
  16. Cardamom – Few pods
  17. Cashew nuts – Few
  18. Tomato – 1
  19. Kasuri methi – 2 teaspoons
  20. Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
  21. Sugar – Half teaspoon
  22. Water – As needed
  23. Cream – 2 tablespoons

Method –

  1. The number of raw bananas to be used depends on its size. I had used 6 raw bananas of medium size.
  2. Boil the raw bananas in pressure cooker. Then peel them and mash properly. Chop chilli, onion, garlic, ginger and tomato finely.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, put mashed raw bananas, chopped pieces of half onion, garlic, chilli, ginger, salt, chaat masala, corn flour, besan, kasuri methi and raisins.
  4. Mash all the ingredients well so that they mix. Make sure that this mixture is not watery. If you find it watery, then add besan to it.
  5. From this mashed mixture, make small rolls. Heat a pan and put sufficient oil to it. Add these small rolls in batches and fry them.
  6. Fry till they become crisp and turn brown. Keep them aside. The raw banana cutlets are ready to be dipped in gravy.
  7. In the same pan, heat oil and put cumin seeds, cinnamon, cardamom and cashew nuts to it. Then add onion, ginger, garlic and tomato to it.
  8. Fry very well so that these ingredients get cooked and their raw smell disappears. Mix well and cool them. Then put this mixture in a grinder and make a fine paste.
  9. Heat the same pan again and put butter to it. Add chilli powder, sugar, coriander powder and kasuri methi to it.
  10. Then add the masala paste to it and saute for few minutes. Put salt, water and mix well. Then add cream to the gravy and stir.
  11. If you do not have cream, then you can use thick milk. Check the consistency and quantity of gravy. It should be neither thick nor thin.
  12. The quantity of gravy must be sufficient so that all the raw banana cutlets can dip in the gravy. Simmer the gravy for few minutes and add all cutlets to it.
  13. Mix well and serve it hot.

There was a shocking revelation waiting for the world on 4th August, 2020, when there was a massive explosion in Beirut, Lebanon. Located in west Asia, Beirut experienced one of the most tragic blast in the history. The incident soon went viral when the video footage of the disaster was spreading on social media. The video shows the smoke laying out at the port of Beirut, right before the enormous bang.

The reports from BBC News mentioned that there were two consecutive explosions occurring minutes apart from each other. The blasts took place in two different buildings and soon after, the fire spread to a nearest building. Areas around 10km radius were affected with the impact of the explosion. According to European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the rumble was felt around 250km away. Due to the situation, a two-week state emergency is in the action.

It is not common for an explosion to wipe out an entire city from its normal state. The explosion was extremely rare and powerful in terms of the damage caused. The government has been seizing the illegal incendiary devices over the years, they had been stored in a warehouse near the port. These stored elements were the reason for triggering the blast.

President Michel Aoun said that there was about 2750 tonnes of Ammonium Nitrate in the warehouses. He also added the details about failing safety measures at the storage. Ammonium nitrate is an explosive, and a major element in fertilizers and bombs and leaving it unsafe was the major triggering point.

However, since 2003, there were failing attempts to get rid of the ammonium nitrate and the negligence led to a national catastrophe.

There is loss of lives, flattening of surface in the 2 miles radius, destruction of habitat. Nobody knows the exact number of citizens missing from the city. Lebanese president has been ensuring about the enquiry regarding the blast. The shattering has been colossal. Getting through the situation is not going to be simple for Beirut. We have to stand with them to fight the battle of their lives. Let us Pray for Lebanon together and hope for the best.

Work It: A Vibrant Beginning With A Disappointing Crescendo.

Ever since I heard of the new coming of age rom-com Work It, I knew I had to watch it. With my proclivity for rom coms and teenage obsession with Liza Koshy, I had built up expectations. Expectations which were met, and then they weren’t. With vibrant colours and cinematography coupled with Jordan Fischer’s and Sabrina Carpenter’s sizzling chemistry, Work It really builds you up. And then, in the end, it quite inevitably leaves you feeling incomplete. And not really in the good way. So buckle up, as I give you the first look on teenage rom-com/coming of age Netflix original Work It.

Not A Movie For Technicalities.

A common strain witnessed with movies delving into the rom-com category is the age misappropriation.  While I believe it is to keep viewers from being disgusted by sexual or romantic notions between kids who still look like they whine about not being able to drive, there isn’t anything we can do to stop it. We have actors past 25 years playing characters that are applying for college. And that is exactly the vibe Sabrina Carpenter and Liza Koshy give off. While petite and quite passable for the young adult group, they don’t really fit the cut for ‘actors playing their age’. However, I chose to skim past that miscalculation and actually delve into the movie.

Work It is a movie all about dance. Performances, determination, the infamous team spirit, Work It has all the ingredients to a successful teenage dance movie. The only thing they don’t have is continuity and the one thing they have but don’t need is plot holes.

Yes, Work It is essentially a feel good movie. It reinforces in you the belief that not just the ones with angelic moves are capable of dancing. Even misfits who sit behind a computer all day have a shot at being able to create magic in their movements. And while it is a comforting thought, there is a quite obvious stereotype lurking here. And speaking of stereotypes, on to my next sub-heading, Erasure.

The Blatant Erasure Is Honestly Very Offending.

It is 2020, and teenager rom-com movies seriously need to get with the times. Having one actor who plays the adversary be cinema-version gay is not done. Neither is the fact that the one black guy in the movie has zero lines for its entirety. Yes, Work It is a movie primarily centered on Sabrina Carpenter, Liza Koshy and Jordan Fisher, but them choosing to ignore BIPOC characters till it suits them is not done. This is me being polite.

People have said before, won’t this remove focus on the main characters of the movie, or that is a movie built just for this representation? And no and no. The main point of showing LGBTQIAP+ and BIPOC characters in a movie is to show that this is real. This is normal. No matter how unrealistic your actual movie is. And a movie is made for the representation of all kinds of people. Because that’s how your movie is giving hope and life to your very very diverse audience. And having a brown girl as your girl Friday is not representation.   

Thankfully, The Chemistry Saves The Movie.

I am not going to lie, I went back to watch the dance scenes between Jordan and Sabrina at least twice. While their chemistry could be partially attributed to the music and the lighting, most of it was all them. The scenes they have with each other where they’re doing some form of a tango seriously breathes life into the movie. Sabrina is charming, in the ‘I can’t dance for my life’ sort of way. And Jordan Fisher’s smile carries part of the movie alone. The romance is honestly no-nonsense. You could feel the chemistry between them the first time they meet. And when you would think that the tension would come to a head and get denied as it gets in all dance movies, it actually doesn’t. They do have relationship troubles, but while one is battling an existential crisis, it’s bound to happen.

The Movie Reminds You Too Much Of To All The Boys I Loved.

If you have already watched To All The Boys I’ve Loved Part Two, you would agree with me. While the cinematography is clearly different, some things are just a slap in the face reminding you of the movie. The nursing home, the nursing home decked in lights, hell even the co-protagonist is the same! Well, our consolation is the fact that John Ambrose at least got a new lady love.

A Glass Half Full.

And while I may have criticized the movie to new heights, it does have some redeeming factors. As a previous subscriber and avid follower of Liza Koshy, it was refreshing to see her in a movie with a coherent role. Her dancing was wonderful to watch; her years of progress have given fruit. However, the movie does manage to let me down one last time; right at the very end. Not lingering too much on the details, Quinn’s mom basically grounds Quinn and stops her from going to the Work It dance competition. Surprise surprise. However, she manages to evade her, then gets into a car she barely knows how to drive and sets off.

While it was frankly unrealistic, I was going along with Work It. Everything is fun and exciting until their dance score. After a power-packed performance by the returning champions, The Thunderbirds, you would expect TBD to have a more bedazzling score. I am wholly an amateur in the world of mixtapes and dance performance music, and I’m sure a lot of watchers are too. Hence, having a performance piece which may be exceptional but not more riveting than your rival’s is…not good. I frankly expected TBD to fall short by one point and maybe win on a technicality, again.

Well, for the most part, all is well that ends well. I simply hope that Quinn takes a decision for college from her heart because as a college student, having a 4.0 GPA matters next to nothing once you’re in. And as for me, I won’t be watching Work It again. Well, at least not completely. Those duet dance scenes are still fire.

Without gossiping much, let’s quickly look at how to prepare these yummy Chicken Frankie rolls. 

For making the chapati/roti, the homemade Frankie masala, the green chutney, as well as the chicken filling the ingredients and methods will remain the same for all the 3 variants. Only the assembling part is different which will add 3 eccentric flavors to your Frankie rolls. For making half-cooked Frankie Roti

Ingredients

  • Refined flour- 2 cups
  • Salt- as per taste
  • Plain Curd- ¼ cup
  • Water- 1&¼ cup (approx. 300ml)
  • Oil- 2tbsp
  • Oil- as required for cooking the roti

Method

preparing the dough for Frankie roll
  1. Firstly, mix refined flour, salt, curd, and add water gradually and knead a very soft and stretchy dough. You must knead the dough well to get that stretchy texture. You can adjust the quantity of water as required.
  2. Tip: as you add water, you’ll feel like its too much and hard to combine, but just hold on and don’t give up. You need to knead the dough well and after some time you’ll notice that it will start to form.
  3. Next, add oil and knead the dough once again until smooth and stretchy.
  4. Cover it with a damp cloth and give the rest of at least 30 minutes.
  5. After 30 minutes, sprinkle some dry flour over the dough and divide it into small and equal size dough balls.
  6. Take one dough ball on your counter, coat it with dry flour, and flatten it with your hands. Then use your rolling pin to make a medium-thick even roti (Similarly, repeat with other dough balls). Make as much as required.
  7. Now, set a Tawa on medium-high heat, add place the roti over it. When you notice tiny bubbles on the top side flip it and slightly roast the other side as well. Drizzle some oil around the sides of the roti, and cook the roti briefly from both sides for roughly 20-30 secs on each side. Make sure the Tawa is hot enough but don’t burn the roti.
  8. Cook as many half-cooked Rotis as required and stack them together.
  9. Keep it cover with a cloth or keep them in an insulated casserole to keep them soft.
  10. Your half-cooked Rotis are ready, will use them while making the Frankies.

For making homemade Frankie Masala

Indian Spices

Ingredients

  • Kashmiri red chili powder- 3tbsp
  • Turmeric powder- 1tsp
  • Black salt- 1tbsp
  • Coriander powder- 2tbsp
  • Amchur powder- 3tbsp
  • Garam masala- 2tsp
  • Roasted Cumin (jeera) powder- 1tbsp
  • Black pepper- ½ tsp
  • Salt- ½ tsp (or as required)

Method

Just mix all the spices in a mixing jar until smooth and your homemade Frankie masala is ready. Use it accordingly and store it in an airtight container. You can also refrigerate it in the fridge and store it for around 2 months.

For making green chutney

Ingredients

  • Fresh coriander leaves- 1cup
  • Fresh mint leaves- ½ cup
  • Green chilies- 3-4
  • Tamarind pulp- 3tbsp
  • Black salt- ½ tsp
  • Ginger- ½ inch
  • Water- 50 ml
  • Salt- as per taste

Method

Simply add all the ingredients in a grinding jar and grind to a fine smooth chutney. Your tangy green Frankie chutney is ready.

For making the Chicken filling

Ingredients

  • Boneless Chicken- 500 gm
  • Salt and crushed black pepper- as per taste
  • Ginger Garlic Paste- 1 tbsp
  • Vinegar- 1tsp
  • Oil- 2 tbsp
  • Onions- 5 medium-sized (sliced)
  • Salt- a pinch
  • Ginger garlic paste- 2tbsp
  • Green chilies- 3-4 (chopped)
  • Turmeric powder- 1tsp
  • Coriander powder- 2tbsp
  • Red chili powder- 2 tbsp
  • Freshly prepared Frankie masala- 1tbsp
  • Water- 500ml (as required)
  • Vinegar- 2 tsp
  • Garam masala- ½ tsp
  • Freshly chopped coriander- 1tbsp

Method

  1. Wash the boneless chicken thoroughly with water and cut them into really thin strips.
  2. Apply salt, black pepper, and ginger-garlic paste to the chicken, mix well and marinate it until you use them next in the masala to cook.
  3. Set a pan on medium heat, add oil to it,  add sliced onions and some salt, saute the onions until they become mushy, and light golden brown.
  4. Next, add ginger garlic paste and chopped green chilies, stir, and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the rest of the spices as mentioned in the ingredients above. Now add the marinated chicken, salt to taste, and cook it for 8-10 minutes.
  6. Add water, vinegar and garam masala, stir well and bring it to a boil.
  7. Next, cover the pan with a lid and let the chicken cook for another 5 minutes.
  8. Finally, add some freshly chopped coriander leaves and your juicy chicken filling is ready to be used in your Chicken Frankie.

For making chili vinegar, simply soak the chopped chilies in the vinegar for around 10-15 mins. Your chili vinegar is ready to be used.

Ingredients for each Frankie roll

  • Eggs- 1-2 (as per your choice)
  • Salt and crushed black pepper- as per taste
  • Half cooked Frankie roti- 1

  2. Sweet Corn – 1 cup
  3. Onion – Half
  4. Garlic – Few cloves
  5. Water – As needed for boiling Pasta

  9. Cheese cube – 1

Method –

  1. For sweet corn, you can use either frozen sweet corn or take out corn from a maize. Boil the corn and let it cool. Chop onion, garlic and cheese finely.
  2. I used Maggi Masala e Magic powder as spice for this recipe. But you can use any masala powder for this. There are some Pasta masala powders available in market.
  3. Heat water in a pan and put little salt to it. When the water boils, put Pasta to it. Add little oil to it so that pasta does not stick to the pan.
  4. Cook till the pasta turns soft but do not overcook as it may break while frying. Strain the pasta from hot water, rinse it with cold water and keep aside.
  5. Heat a pan and put oil to it. The oil should be sufficient for frying all ingredients. Add onion and garlic to it. Fry till the raw smell disappears.
  6. Put corn to it. Then add salt and mix well. Put pasta, cheese and Maggi Masala e Magic to it as much as you want. Too much of this masala can make pasta dish very spicy.
  7. Cook till all the ingredients get mixed and masala coats pasta. Serve it hot.

  4. Cook till the pasta turns soft but do not overcook as it may break while frying. Strain the pasta from hot water, rinse it with cold water and keep aside.
