Cryptocurrency:  21st-century Unicorn– or the Money of the Future

0

This introduction explains the most important thing about cryptocurrencies. After you‘ve read it, you‘ll know more about it than most other humans.

Today cryptocurrencies have become a global phenomenon known to most people. While still somehow geeky and not understood by most people, banks, governments and many companies are aware of its importance.

In 2016, you‘ll have a hard time finding a major bank, a big accounting firm, a prominent software company or a government that did not research cryptocurrencies, publish a paper about it or start a so-called block-chain-project.

What is cryptocurrency?

Few people know, but cryptocurrencies emerged as a side product of another invention. Satoshi Nakamoto, the unknown inventor of bitcoin, the first and still most important cryptocurrency, never intended to invent a currency.

In his announcement of Bitcoin in late 2008, Satoshi said he developed “A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System.“

His goal was to invent something; many people failed to create before digital cash.

How’s miners create cash and confirm transactions?

Let‘s have a look at the mechanism ruling the databases of cryptocurrencies. A cryptocurrency like Bitcoin consists of a network of peers. Every peer has a record of the complete history of all transactions and thus of the balance of every account.

A transaction is a file that says, “Bob gives X Bitcoin to Alice“ and is signed by Bob‘s private key. It‘s basic public key cryptography, nothing special at all. After signed, a transaction is broadcasted in the network, sent from one peer to every other peer. This is basic p2p-technology. Nothing special at all, again.

The transaction is known almost immediately by the whole network. But only after a specific amount of time it gets confirmed.

Confirmation is a critical concept in cryptocurrencies. You could say that cryptocurrencies are all about confirmation.

As long as a transaction is unconfirmed, it is pending and can be forged. When a transaction is confirmed, it is set in stone. It is no longer forge-able, it can‘t be reversed, it is part of an immutable record of historical transactions: of the so-called block chain.

Only miners can confirm transactions. This is their job in a cryptocurrency-network. They take transactions, stamp them as legit and spread them in the network. After a transaction is confirmed by a miner, every node has to add it to its database. It has become part of the block chain.

Cryptocurrency:  21st-century Unicorn– or the Money of the Future

Transactional properties:

1.) Irreversible: After confirmation, a transaction can‘t be reversed. By nobody. And nobody means nobody. Not you, not your bank, not the president of the United States, not Satoshi, not your miner. Nobody. If you send money, you send it. Period. No one can help you, if you sent your funds to a scammer or if a hacker stole them from your computer. There is no safety net.

2.) Pseudonymous: Neither transactions nor accounts are connected to real world identities. You receive Bitcoins on so-called addresses, which are randomly seeming chains of around 30 characters. While it is usually possible to analyze the transaction flow, it is not necessarily possible to connect the real world identity of users with those addresses.

3.) Fast and global: Transaction are propagated nearly instantly in the network and are confirmed in a couple of minutes. Since they happen in a global network of computers they are completely indifferent of your physical location. It doesn‘t matter if I send Bitcoin to my neighbor or to someone on the other side of the world.

4.) Secure: Cryptocurrency funds are locked in a public key cryptography system. Only the owner of the private key can send cryptocurrency. Strong cryptography and the magic of big numbers makes it impossible to break this scheme. A Bitcoin address is more secure than Fort Knox.

5.) Permission less: You don‘t have to ask anybody to use cryptocurrency. It‘s just a software that everybody can download for free. After you installed it, you can receive and send Bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies. No one can prevent you. There is no gatekeeper.

 Monetary properties:

1.) Controlled supply: Most cryptocurrencies limit the supply of the tokens. In Bitcoin, the supply decreases in time and will reach its final number somewhere in around 2140. All cryptocurrencies control the supply of the token by a schedule written in the code. This means the monetary supply of a cryptocurrency in every given moment in the future can roughly be calculated today. There is no surprise.

2.) No debt but bearer: The Fiat-money on your bank account is created by debt, and the numbers, you see on your ledger represent nothing but debts. It‘s a system of IOU. Cryptocurrencies don‘t represent debts. They just represent themselves. They are money as hard as coins of gold.

To understand the revolutionary impact of cryptocurrencies you need to consider both properties. Bitcoin as a permissionless, irreversible and pseudonymous means of payment is an attack on the control of banks and governments over the monetary transactions of their citizens. You can‘t hinder someone to use Bitcoin, you can‘t prohibit someone to accept a payment, you can‘t undo a transaction.

As money with a limited, controlled supply that is not changeable by a government, a bank or any other central institution, cryptocurrencies attack the scope of the monetary policy. They take away the control central banks take on inflation or deflation by manipulating the monetary supply.

Cryptocurrencies: Dawn of a new economy

Mostly due to its revolutionary properties cryptocurrencies have become a success their inventor, Satoshi Nakamoto, didn‘t dare to dream of it. While every other attempt to create a digital cash system didn‘t attract a critical mass of users, Bitcoin had something that provoked enthusiasm and fascination. Sometimes it feels more like religion than technology.

While bitcoin remains by far the most famous cryptocurrency and most other cryptocurrencies have zero non-speculative impact, investors and users should keep an eye on several cryptocurrencies. Here we present the most popular cryptocurrencies of today.

What is the future of Cryptocurrency?

The market of cryptocurrencies is fast and wild. Nearly every day new cryptocurrencies emerge, old die, early adopters get wealthy and investors lose money. Every cryptocurrency comes with a promise, mostly a big story to turn the world around. Few survive the first months, and most are pumped and dumped by speculators and live on as zombie coins until the last bag holder loses hope ever to see a return on his investment.

5 Best Camera Accessories every DSLR user must have

0

DSLR Camera are nowadays becoming a common one, it`s no longer a camera that people use to dream of having.  The reason of this is we can buy one in an affordable price and more and more user friendly models are being manufactured.
There will be many people who have just gone one recently, so this one is mainly for you – the new DSLR owners. Many would think why to invest more on a DSLR camera? The reason is investing in your DSLR camera can improve the quality of the pictures immensely. So, here we look on the top 10 accessories every DSLR whether it is a Canon one or a Nikon one must have.

  • UV Fliter

These are protective filters. You brought a DSLR camera for some thousand and the least you want is that the lens gets broken; here is where UV filter goes very well. These are thin, circular pieces of lens that fit perfectly over the front of the lens. These are mainly used for two reasons. Firstly, to protect against damage caused by accidentally dropping the lens or the camera or by not handling the camera properly or to protect it against dust, scratches, dirt on the front part of the lens. Secondly, the image quality suffers a minimal loss by using a UV filter.

  • Zoom Lens

5 Best Camera Accessories every DSLR user must haveAlmost all DSLR cameras come with kit lenses whose zoom range is neither too small nor too big. Alcoholic Consumption

0

Many people enjoy a drink without any problems, but binge drinking or drinking heavily over longer periods of time can have very serious consequences. Alcohol misuse not only harms the individual, but damages relationships and society in general in terms of violence and crime, accidents and drink driving.

In Northern Ireland, the number of alcohol-related deaths has more than doubled since 1994. The most recent figures show:

  • there were 270 deaths recorded as alcohol-related in 2012;
  • there were more than 11,500 alcohol-related admissions to hospitals in 2009/10.

    Long-term effects

As well as the recognised immediate effects of drinking too much, such as nausea and vomiting, binge drinking and prolonged heavy drinking over longer periods of time can affect you in many different ways.

    Brain damage

Binge drinking can cause blackouts, memory loss and anxiety. Long-term drinking can result in permanent brain damage, serious mental health problems and alcohol dependence or alcoholism. Young people’s brains are particularly vulnerable because the brain is still developing during their teenage years. Alcohol can damage parts of the brain, affecting behaviour and the ability to learn and remember.

    Cancers

Drinking alcohol is the second biggest risk factor for cancers of the mouth and throat (smoking is the biggest). People who develop cirrhosis of the liver (often caused by too much alcohol) can develop liver cancer.

    Heart and circulation

Alcohol can cause high blood pressure (hypertension), which increases the risk of:

    • having a heart attack or stroke
    • developing some types of dementia.

It also weakens heart muscles, which can affect the lungs, liver, brain and other body systems, and also cause heart failure. Binge drinking and drinking heavily over longer periods can cause the heart to beat irregularly (arrhythmia) and has been linked to cases of sudden death.

    Lungs

People who drink a lot of alcohol have more lung infections, are more likely to suffer collapsed lungs and can be more likely to get pneumonia. When a person vomits as a result of drinking alcohol, they may choke if vomit gets sucked into their lungs.

    Liver

Drinking too much alcohol initially causes fat deposits to develop in the liver. With continued excessive drinking, the liver may become inflamed, causing alcoholic hepatitis, which can result in liver failure and death. Excessive alcohol can permanently scar and damage the liver, resulting in liver cirrhosis and an increased risk of liver cancer. Women are particularly susceptible to the effects of alcohol on the liver.

    Stomach

Drinking above recommended limits can lead to stomach ulcers, internal bleeding and cancer. Alcohol can cause the stomach to become inflamed (gastritis), which can prevent food from being absorbed and increase the risk of cancer.

    Pancreas

Heavy or prolonged use of alcohol can cause inflammation of the pancreas, which can be very painful – causing vomiting, fever and weight loss – and can be fatal.

    Intestine

Heavy drinking may result in ulcers and cancer of the colon. It also affects your body’s ability to absorb nutrients and vitamins.

    Kidneys

Heavy drinking can increase your risk of developing high blood pressure – a leading cause of chronic kidney disease.

    bones

Alcohol interferes with the body’s ability to absorb calcium. As a result, your bones become weak and thin (osteoporosis).

    Weight gain

Alcohol is high in calories. Weight for weight, the alcohol in a drink contains almost as many calories as fat. The average bottle of wine contains 600 calories while four pints of average strength lager contain 640.

    Skin

Alcohol dehydrates your body and your skin. It also widens blood vessels, causing your skin to look red or blotchy.

    Sexual health

Binge drinking makes you lose your inhibitions and affects your judgement. This may make you less likely to use a condom, which increases your risk of getting a sexually transmitted infection such as chlamydia, HIV or hepatitis. It can also lead to an unplanned pregnancy.

    Mental health

People may think that alcohol helps them cope with difficult situations and emotions, and that it reduces stress or relieves anxiety, but alcohol is in fact associated with a range of mental health problems including depression, anxiety, risk-taking behaviour, personality disorders and schizophrenia.

Alcohol has also been linked to suicide. The Mental Health Foundation reports that:

    • 65% of suicides have been linked to excessive drinking;
    • 70% of men who take their own life drink alcohol before doing so;
    • almost one third of suicides among young people take place while the person is intoxicated.

Excessive drinking can disrupt normal sleeping patterns, resulting in insomnia and a lack of restful sleep, which can contribute to stress and anxiety.1

    1. Mental Health Foundation. Cheers! Understanding the relationship between alcohol and mental health. London: Mental Health Foundation, 2006.

    Other effects

Alcohol affects the parts of your brain that control judgement, concentration, coordination, behaviour and emotions. If you binge drink, you may be at greater risk of:

    • becoming a victim of crime, eg rape, domestic violence, mugging or assault;
    • being involved in anti-social or criminal behaviour, eg fights, domestic violence, vandalism or theft;
    • having an accident, eg a road accident, fall, accident at work or accidental fire;
    • losing your job, eg repeated absence or poor performance (think about the financial consequences);
    • damaging relationships with family or friends.

Education system

0
appreciates education
give education, take education

The term education system generally refers to public schooling, not private schooling, and more commonly to kindergarten through high school programs. Schools or school districts are typically the smallest recognized form of education system” and countries are the largest. States are also considered to have education systems.

While the term education system is widely and frequently used in news media and public discourse, it may be difficult to determine precisely what the term is referring to when it is used without qualification, specific examples, or additional explanation.

Like the teaching profession, education systems are, by nature, extremely complex and multifaceted, and the challenges entailed in reforming or improving them can be similarly complex and multifaceted.

Education system

In the Beginning

In ancient times, India had the Gurukula system of education in which anyone who wished to study went to a teacher’s (Guru) house and requested to be taught. If accepted as a student by the guru, he would then stay at the guru’s place and help in all activities at home. This not only created a strong tie between the teacher and the student, but also taught the student everything about running a house. The guru taught everything the child wanted to learn, from Sanskrit to the holy scriptures and from Mathematics to Metaphysics. The student stayed as long as she wished or until the guru felt that he had taught everything he could teach. All learning was closely linked to nature and to life, and not confined to memorizing some information.

The modern school system was brought to India, including the English language, originally by Lord Thomas Babington Macaulay in the 1830s. The curriculum was confined to “modern” subjects such as science and mathematics, and subjects like metaphysics and philosophy were considered unnecessary. Teaching was confined to classrooms and the link with nature was broken, as also the close relationship between the teacher and the student.

Education system

The School System

There is a national organization that plays a key role in developing policies and programmes, called the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) that prepares a National Curriculum Framework. Each state has its counterpart called the State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT). These are the bodies that essentially propose educational strategies, curricula, pedagogical schemes and evaluation methodologies to the states’ departments of education. The SCERTs generally follow guidelines established by the NCERT. But the states have considerable freedom in implementing the education system.

The school system in India has four levels: lower primary (age 6 to 10), upper primary (11 and 12), high (13 to 15) and higher secondary (17 and 18). The lower primary school is divided into five “standards”, upper primary school into two, high school into three and higher secondary into two. Students have to learn a common curriculum largely (except for regional changes in mother tongue) till the end of high school. There is some amount of specialization possible at the higher secondary level. Students throughout the country have to learn three languages (namely, English, Hindi and their mother tongue) except in regions where Hindi is the mother tongue and in some streams as discussed below.

Education system

Exclusive Schools

In addition to the above, there are a relatively small number of schools that follow foreign curricula such as the so-called Senior Cambridge, though this was largely superseded by the ICSE stream elsewhere. Some of these schools also offer the students the opportunity to sit for the ICSE examinations. These are usually very expensive residential schools where some of the Indians working abroad send their children. They normally have fabulous infrastructure, low student-teacher ratio and very few students. Many of them have teachers from abroad. There are also other exclusive schools such as the Doon School in Dehradun that take in a small number of students and charge exorbitant fees.

State Schools

Each state in the country has its own Department of Education that runs its own school system with its own textbooks and evaluation system. As mentioned earlier, the curriculum, pedagogy and evaluation method are largely decided by the SCERT in the state, following the national guidelines prescribed by the NCERT.

Each state has three kinds of schools that follow the state curriculum. The government runs its own schools in land and buildings owned by the government and paying the staff from its own resources. These are generally known as government schools. The fees are quite low in such schools. Then there are privately owned schools with their own land and buildings. Here the fees are high and the teachers are paid by the management.

The Case of Kerala

The state of Kerala, a small state in the South Western coast of India, has been different from the rest of the country in many ways for the last few decades. It has, for instance, the highest literacy rate among all states, and was declared the first fully literate state about a decade back. Life expectancy, both male and female, is very high, close to that of the developed world. Other parameters such as fertility rate, infant and child mortality are among the best in the country, if not the best. The total fertility rate has been below the replacement rate of 2.1 for the last two decades. Probably as a side-effect of economic and social development, suicide rates and alcoholism are also very high. Government policies also have been very different from the rest of the country, leading to the development model followed in Kerala, with high expenditure in education and welfare, coming to be known as the “Kerala Model“ among economists.

Unemployment: the cause of suicide

0
unemployment leads suicide
the main cause of suicide

Losing a job, a home, retirement income, or incurring mounting debt are all linked to a wide variety of negative health outcomes. They can aggravate existing conditions and may create new problems. In some cases they may lead to thoughts of suicide, and with some individuals may lead to suicide attempts and completions.

DEFINITION

Unemployment  in good times or bad is a far bigger factor in suicides than an economic crisis, accounting for nine times as many deaths, according to a study.

The recent economic downturn has caused about 5,000 deaths in 63 countries, whereas unemployment over the period 2000 to 2011 was responsible for 45,000, incidents happen.

“Our findings reveal that the suicide rate increases six months before a rise in unemployment. What is more, our data suggests that not all job losses necessarily have an equal impact, as the effect on suicide risk appears to be stronger in countries where being out of work is uncommon.

“It is possible that an unexpected increase in the unemployment rate may trigger greater fears and insecurity than in countries with higher pre-crisis unemployment levels.”

Unemployment: the cause of suicide

Why the suicide rate for young man is rising?

And when your self-esteem takes a hit, you tend to isolate yourself and withdraw socially from the people you care about, says Ryan.

If you’re facing a job loss—or feel it might be looming on the horizon—your best bet is to be proactive. Follow these three steps to boost your mental health and better absorb the blow:

  1. Keep Working a 9-to-5

Just because you don’t have to punch a clock, that doesn’t mean your days should be a free-for-all. Instead, use your time to your advantage.

“You likely had a lot of structure when you were working, and not having any can be its own kind of stressful,” says Ryan.

Keep yourself calm by fostering some order. Create a schedule that’s built around accomplishing manageable goals—not unrealistic, stress-inducing ones, like landing a great new gig in under a week. (The better play: Aim to send out three unique resumes in a day.) Then make sure you stick to it.

  1. Seek out Services

Don’t blow off the help your company can give you. Outplacement serviceseither from your former job or the local unemployment office—offer useful guidance and resources, ranging from résumé building to interview practice.

Perhaps more importantly, these kinds of tools also give you a chance to connect with others who are in the same situation and truly understand your challenges.

  1. Beat Your Blues

Do you find yourself sleeping all day, continually replaying a certain memory from your job loss, or feeling an overall lack of hope? Any of these could signal more than just low spirits.

It’s not uncommon to become depressed after a layoff. In fact, a study from George Washington University found that 42 percent of people who lost their jobs scored above the cutoff level for potential depression in mood tests.

So if you feel like you just can’t shake the blues, seek the guidance of a trained counselor. He or she will lend you a non-judgmental ear, and will help you get the treatment you need.

“Besides specific therapeutic interventions, sufficient investment by governments in active labour market policies that enhance the efficiency of labour markets could help generate additional jobs and reduce the unemployment rate, helping to offset the impact on suicide.”

Paranormal things and extraterrestrial life

0
its just a psychology
the power of our subconsious mind

The term “paranormal” has existed in the English Language since at least 1920. The word consists of two parts: para and normal. The definition implies that the scientific explanation of the world around us is ‘normal’ and anything that is above, beyond, or contrary to that is ‘para’.

The following is some information on five basic categories and some information pertaining to each that can be considered “subcategories”.

Not all hauntings can be easily categorized and we must be careful not to jump to conclusions in any case. In some cases, what appears to be the work of a human agent may actually be that of the spirits, and vice versa. There is also a multitude of exterior factors that do affect the circumstances that be. Solar flares, the earth’s magnetic fields, storms, etc. all a play an important role when trying to discern the cause of and effect of paranormal or ghostly occurrences.

Intelligent haunting

The key factor in an intelligent haunting is that the ghost can interact with you (communication—it responds and notices human beings). If the ghost does not notice you or other human beings, and cannot interact or communicate with you, it’s not an intelligent haunting.

Residual Haunting

This type of phenomena is much more common than people think and I would even go as far as to say that it is the most common type of reported phenomena around. We have to remember not to confuse this type of phenomena with an”Intelligent” haunting because, while it is fascinating and unexplained, it may not be specifically related to ghosts.

Paranormal subjects

Paranormal events are phenomena described in popular culture, folklore, and other non-scientific bodies of knowledge, whose existence within these contexts is described to lie beyond normal experience or scientific explanations.

A paranormal phenomenon is different from hypothetical concepts such as dark matter and dark energy. Unlike paranormal phenomena, these hypothetical concepts are based on emperical observations and experimental data gained through the scientific method.

Paranormal research

Approaching the paranormal from a research perspective is often difficult because of the lack of acceptable physical evidence from most of the purported phenomena. By definition, the paranormal does not conform to conventional expectations of nature. Therefore, a phenomenon cannot be confirmed as paranormal using the scientific method because, if it could be, it would no longer fit the definition.

Fundamental sequences

Actually, there is nothing like the ghost type things but actually there is a psychological facts. when we believe in something,we act like just that it happens and we want it to be happen. so in fact the normal things conclude the things that we belief in an automatic repository factor.

There are basically three things you need to know about the paranormal.

1. Paranormal Activity IS REAL – People who don’t believe in the paranormal or dismiss it as superstition are usually people who have never experienced it. But try and tell that to those who HAVE! Try and tell someone who wakes up in the morning with marks and bruises in their body from something that happened to them during the night! Go tell someone that sees objects move by themselves in the house or hears someone call their name loud and clear when no one is there! It doesn’t matter if someone says it’s not real – for those to whom it happens, paranormal experiences are VERY REAL.

2. Paranormal Activity IS DEMONIC – In other words, it’s not the spirit of your dead grandmother or some lost soul who’s coming back to haunt you or is trying to communicate with you. Demons are a spiritual force that can affect people in the physical world and one of the ways they do that is through paranormal activity. Most of the stuff you saw in the movie – except for the Hollywood special effects – are things that demons can do to people in real life. In my work I have dealt with countless cases of people who are attacked during their sleep, who sense a real, negative presence around them, who hear voices, and whose lives were ruined by demonic attacks. And I’m talking about perfectly normal people, who had jobs, families, an education, and yet all they knew was useless against those attacks. It’s very important you know that demonic forces are what is actually behind the paranormal.

3. There’s Only ONE WAY of Stopping Paranormal Activity – There’s a lot of non-sense around when it comes to driving out demons. You hear about exorcisms, demonologists, Ouija boards, calling in a priest who needs to get authorization from the Vatican to carry out an exorcism and things like that – none of which can effectively deal with the paranormal. The ONLY WAY I know to deal with demonic attacks effectively is found in the book of Mark 16.17, where Jesus said: “In my Name they will cast out demons.” (And while you’re at it, take a look also in Luke 19.10.) In other words, in the spiritual realm, there’s only ONE NAME that demons respect.

If you have been experiencing the paranormal; if you feel you’re under some demonic attack of any kind, the best thing you can do is find someone who truly KNOWS the Lord Jesus, who is committed to Him – not a religious person or just anyone waving the Bible at you – someone who really has a relationship with God, who is not afraid of demons and therefore in HIS NAME has authority over them. A true Christian will not have any trouble helping you and showing how to stop these attacks permanently.

Journalism: boon or bane

0
stay in limits, not in virtue
building block of our nation existance

“From where the thinking of common people stops, the journalism starts its virtue of thinking

Journalism is to explore the past, present & future. It is about what was happened, what is & what will be happening. Journalism is the activity of gathering, assessing, creating, & presenting news and information. It is also the product of these activities  i.e. gathering information and the organizing literary styles.

The purpose of journalism is thus to provide citizens with the information they need to make the best possible decision about their lives, their communities, their societies, and their governments. Sometimes people have misconceptions that journalism is the same thing as that of the literature, but as we all know “journalism is unreadable and literature is not read”. It can be distinguished from other activities and products by certain identifiable characteristics and practices. Did you know when and how the journalism came to India?

The history of journalism or the development of the gathering and transmitting of news were different. Before the printing press was invented, word of mouth was the primary source of news. Returning merchants, sailors and travelers brought news back to the mainland, and was then picked by peddlers and travelling players and spread from town to town. This transmission is highly unreliable, as the configuration of the news sometimes changed. Now days, online journalism has an adverse and great impact as it is a growing field shared between traditional media and the growing blogging community. Although Indian newspapers were using computers for writing and page layout as early as 1987 they were slow to move online editions of their papers. For e.g.: Dainik Jagran has been India’s most read newspaper for 23 consecutive years with a daily readership of over 16 million.

While journalism occupies a much smaller space than the talk, entertainment, opinion, assertion, advertising propaganda that dominate the media universe, it is nevertheless perceived as being as more valuable than most of the “stuff out there”. Its value flows from its purpose, the most important and systematic process- a discipline of verification- that journalists use to find not just the facts, but also the “truth about the facts”. As if your aim is to change the world, then most immediate short term weapon is JOURNALISM.

Now let’s discuss about the most important elements of journalism for that we mentioned above: and How they are important::

The first element is “TRUTH”, journalism is a practical and functional form of truth. It is not the truth in the absolute or philosophical or scientific sense but rather a pursuit of “the truths by which we can operate on a day-to-day basis. The “journalistic truth” is a process that begins with professional discipline of assembling and verifying facts because: “a good journalist is not that writes what people say, but the one that writes what he supposed to write”. Here, journalism means you go back to the actual facts, you look at the documents, you discover what the record is, and you report it that way.

The second element is “TRANSPARENCY”, journalists should be as transparent as possible about sources and methods so audiences can make their own assessment of the information. Even in a world of expanding voices, “getting it right” is the foundation upon which everything else is built- context, interpretation, comment, criticism, analysis and debate. The larger truth, over time, emerges from this forum.

The third element is “LOYALITY”, a journalist should be a loyal because a commitment to citizens is an implied covenant with the audience and a foundation of the journalistic business model-journalism provided “without fear or favor” is perceived to be more valuable content from other information sources.

The fourth element is “discipline”, it is the most important element as it is a consistent method of testing information- a transparent approach to evidence- precisely so that personal and cultural biases would not undermine the accuracy of the work. The method is objective, not the journalist.

The fifth element is “reliability”, “independence is the cornerstone of the reliability”. On one level, it means not becoming seduced by sources, intimidated by power, or compromised by self interest. On a deeper level it speaks to an independence of spirit and open-mindedness and an intellectual curiosity that helps the journalist see beyond his or her own class or economic status, race, ethnicity, religion, gender or ego.

Discipline of verification is the most important constituent of journalism and it rests on the three core concepts- transparency, humility and originality.

Transparency means show your work so readers can decide for themselves why they should believe it. “Transparency signals the journalist’s respect for audience”. Humility means keep an open mind. Journalists need to keep an open mind — not only about what they hear but also about their own ability to understand what it means. Originality means do your own work. Information can be viewed as a hierarchy. At the top is the work you have done yourself, reporting you can directly vouch for.

Now we figure out the fact that journalism is important in what ways:

Smart, fair, and independent journalism is essential for a democracy to function well. By reporting what government, businesses and other powerful institutions do, journalist give citizens information they need to decide everything from which school to attend to whom they should vote for.

So, Journalism’s role at the time was to act as a mediator or translator between the public and policy making elites. The journalist became the middleman. When elites spoke, journalists listened and recorded the information, distilled it, and passed it on to the public for their consumption.
Journalists have many roles to play commonly as; watchdogs, investigators, moderators, entertainers, analysts, informers, editors, commentators, and advertisers. They are community activists, agenda-setters, and voices for the voiceless. They are public servants, keepers of public record, protectors of democracy, and promoters of public dialogue. Thanks to these responsibilities media is playing, it has earned the recognition of fourth estate. People’s participation is the foundation of democracy. Press is the pillar of democracy. Similarly, the main principles of journalism are; Accuracy, Balance and Credibility. One of the important responsibilities of journalist is to maintain their principles in their reporting. The information should be based on truth and facts which provides accurate news. While reporting one should be balance. Without credible information, there would be no trust PRESS and could have no strength. Thus maintaining accuracy and balance provides credible information.

At last, the conclusion is “journalism can never be silent: that is its greatest virtue and its greatest fault. It must speak, and speak immediately. While the echoes of wonder, the claims of triumph and the signs of horror are still in the air”.

If you have cleared your interview and ready to join the company below given tips will be useful to you on your first day of your job. We all have to walk through this phase.

Getting a job means you have cleared one step. Now you have to focus on your work, behavior, relationship with co-workers, boss, and client.  This might be too much on your first day. You will be nervous once you enter office. Your HR Department will help you and guide you. Read out this article and get ready for your First Day.

Reach on Time

This is very important. Be on Time whether it is a job, interview or attending a meeting.  As we all say time is money. Believe me it is.  Always be on time. This creates a good impression, It shows how much responsible you are at your job and what kind of attitude you carry towards the same.

Rule number 1: Reach on time. Never forget this rule.  Get up little early than regular days for important meetings, interview etc.  This will help you finish your daily routine on time, you can eat proper breakfast and then leave early for the venue.  You may not get stuck in traffic and you won’t be worried about reaching late.

Be Confident

Being Confident revels a lot about you.  It’s about self confidence.  If you cannot be confident and doubt yourself who is going to be confident about hiring you.  If company hires you they see whether you will be able to handle your task, responsibilities given to you as they are going to rely on your work to deliver to clients.  Always be confident about your skills.

Introduce Yourself

Once you enter office, get in touch with HR Department.  Normally your team lead or your seniors will help you with this process. They will introduce you to the team. With this introduction session you will be at least familiar with faces and few names. You can further connect with them on lunch time for further talks.

Know your Task for the Day

Once your Introduction is over. Go to your desk.  Make yourself comfortable.  If the task is given to you start doing it. If not then reach out to your lead or senior and ask them about your task. Ask them how you should start, what reference you have to go through. Whom you can contact if you have any doubts.

Make sure you have your notes ready with you. Write everything your senior tells you this will help you once you start doing your task rather than wondering what was told and again disturbing your seniors. This will create a bad impression on your first day and who wants that so take your diary along with you to make notes of it.

Talk to co-workers around

As it will be your first day and you will be very new to company and its environment. Try to talk to people around, your colleagues will give you time. Generally on first day you won’t have much work to do so make sure you use this opportunity and time well. Know more about companies’ rules, regulations, culture from HR Department or colleague.

Get Involved

Try to get involved with activities around.  Get involved in engaging activity happening around. Attend Meetings, attend celebration or go to team lunch if its happening that day. Get Involved with team.  This will also make you feel comfortable and you will feel good.  Always take part in some activity, this will showcase your talent to them. Never miss a chance while these activities are going around.  Be it singing ,dancing, acting, ramp walk etc.

Jim Corbett

Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park in India and was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park to protect the endangered Bengal tiger. Appropriately called the heaven of majestic tigers for the fact that it shelters a large population of tigers in its breathtaking landscapes that consists of exotic flora and fauna. Its foundation was led by the legendary hunter turned conservationist Sir Edward Jim Corbett (1875-1955)- Edward James Corbett was born of Irish ancestry in the town of Nainital in the Kumaon of the Himalaya (now in the Indian state of Uttarakhand). Jim grew up in a large family of 13 children and was the eighth child of Willam Christopher and Mary Jane Corbett. His parents had moved to Nainital in 1862, after Christopher Corbett had been appointed postmaster of the town. In winters, the family used to move to the foothills, where they owned a cottage named ‘Arundel’ in Chhoti Haldwani or ‘Corbett’s Village’ now known as Kaladhungi.

After his father’s death, when Jim was 4 years old, his eldest brother Tom took over as the postmaster of Nainital. From a very young age, Jim was fascinated by the forests and the wildlife around his home in Kaladhungi. At a young age he learned to identify most animals and birds by their calls – owing to his frequent excursions. Over time he became a good tracker and hunter. Jim studied at the Oak Openings School, later merged with Philander Smith College in Nainital. Before he was 19, he quit school and found employment with the Bengal and North Western Railway, initially working as a fuel inspector at Manakpur in the Punjab, and subsequently as a contractor for the trans-shipment of goods across the Ganges at Mokameh Ghat in Bihar.
