THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE A STARTUP

0
startup

Knowledge without its practical implications is as worthless as a body without a soul. If you have an idea to change the world around you and knowledge to create it and make money through it, you should go for a startup. Nowadays it has become necessary for an individual to earn a handsome amount of money to live an optimum lifestyle and for that, there should be a source of the money. Most of the people prefer business for the same reason.

“It doesn’t matter what you do. What matters is how differently you do it from others…”

A business needs an idea that may be new completely or a revised and evolved a version of currently existing one. Although it seems an easy task to start a business but there are few things one should keep in mind before any startup.

  • PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE AND ITS GROWTH POTENTIAL

startupFirst of all, you should stick to the idea of what you really want to start your business with. Suppose you are about to start your business by setting up a factory which manufactures smart watches, then first you have to learn everything about what kind of smart watch the market really needs. You should also consider the new features that you are going to add to your smart watch that would leave every other smart watch behind yours, this would help you to judge the growth potential of your gadget i.e. how long it is going to survive in the market. The first step is all about setting up a goal. Everything you do should be according to principles. For best result, you should consider the SMART rule for business.

  • RESOURCES

startupOnce the goal is all set, next thing you need to do is to prepare a list of your resources. Before ruling the market you should review it very deeply, and this reviewing includes things such as WHICH IS the BEST MARKET TO LAUNCH MY PRODUCT? HOW MUCH SHOULD I INVEST IN MY PROJECT?

WHERE CAN I GET THE BEST QUALITY RAW MATERIAL FOR MY PROJECT THAT WOULD SUIT MY POCKET TOO?

You should find answers to these questions before investing or else a blind amount of money would be wasted for no good reason.

  • TIMING

startupIn every business, timing plays an important part in its survival in the market. You have to work hard and smart within deadlines. The people who are going to work with you should take responsibility to cover the task given to them in the given time or else every day the workload would increase and finally you have to stop your startup because of insufficient supply of your product to the market. It is important that you should not let your love for what you are doing, to die. You should work in a team and be optimistic all the time. It is also important to launch your product at right time. Suppose you want to launch your brand new umbrella then the best time would be before the monsoon. If your timing mismatches and you launch it in winters, then it is of no use. Clearly, you have to wait for a whole year and maybe till then you may become bank corrupt.

  • RISK FACTORS

startupBefore starting a business you should also consider the risks associated with it. You should have at least two backup plans in case something goes wrong with your business. You should take risks sometime and play a wild card in your business when you think there are possibilities of something good to happen. It is good to keep a mentor or different mentors that would help you and guide you to know your mistakes and let you know new strategies but first you should keep calm and try your own common sense to evolve a solution.

  • KNOW YOUR COMPETITORS

startupBefore the world’s renowned company “Apple” was setup, Microsoft was ruling the world of technology. Apple wanted to reach out to every individual around the globe and facilitate them with their product and its simplicity. Once they got ahead of Microsoft and were ruling in the market, they started increasing the cost of their product and people were comfortable with it. Things like this tell us that it doesn’t matter what product you are going to make, all it takes is just one simple idea that can take you ahead of your competitors. Before setting up the price tag for your product, you should observe the market. Sometimes it is necessary to lower the selling price and go for a little loss in order to create an image among the customers like Apple did.

Some common misconceptions about IITians

3
Misconceptions about IITians

Many have the curiosity to know how it feels like to be an IITian. Only a few manage to actually feel, and the rest automatically develop some judgement based on whatever is published in newspaper (placements, projects and achievements). Hope that this article works pretty well and gives you a rough idea of why IIT’s are worth the hard work.

No, we do not study all the time.

In fact, we don’t even study. The only time we open our notes are just before exams, just like any other student in other colleges, we do not submit assignments, we do shabby record work and we most definitely don’t mug our lessons. What might make us different would be the interest we have in learning and all the learning that we would ever need for exams would happen in the classroom.

Not all here are not introverts.

football-soccer IITYet another common misconception about students in IIT. People think everyone stays in their respective rooms and no one comes out. Many play a sport. Let me tell you that the only time I enter my room, most of the days is during the night when I go to sleep. People assume we do not socialize. Well, after coming to the campus I met people following different cultures, speaking different languages and from various backgrounds.

We do have a sense of humour.

When people see an IITian and the topic of humour comes up, the initial response would be to crack a lame science joke and expect us to laugh. Not everyone in IIT are Sheldon coopers or Rajesh koothrapallis (yes we watch TV shows too). We play a lot of pranks and people here are sportive enough to take pleasure in getting laughed at. There is a comedy club in IIT madras purely dedicated to lame science jokes. (that was sarcasm, if you didn’t get it, but there is actually a comedy club in IIT madras)

We know how to have fun.

I don’t need words to explain this. Here is a picture of last year’s saarang, our cultural event.

Goodness with limited kindness: Be selfish

0
Goodness

Goodness and kindness come hand in hand.

Goodness is the behaviour, kindness is the character. Both are fruits of spirit. A relation to be nourished require both. Kindness is the disposition we should have toward others while goodness include an additional aspect of honesty. Both defy each other as well. For goodness is followed by criticism so is kindness followed by meanness. As it is good to love but to give everything in love is no good. A relation can only grow when both give their share of love and recieve their share as well.

The belief that unhappiness is selfless and happiness is selfish is misguided. It’s more selfless to act happy. It takes energy, generosity, and discipline to be unfailingly lighthearted, yet everyone takes the happy person for granted. No one is careful of his feelings or tries to keep his spirits high, he becomes cushion for others. And because happiness seems unforced that person usually gets no credit. It is good to trust but it is no good to trust blindly. Don’t trust anyone blindly most people you meet with are with you only for their own sake and interest. Trust yourself, create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.

Being generous is good but being generous only is no good. People are so docile right now. It is almost as if good government means when the politician lie to us for our own good, for public good and bad government is when politician lie for their own selfish interest. To make everyone happy is good but to always make everyone happy is no good. Putting yourself first is not selfish. The real truth of life lies in the fact sometimes you have to be selfish to be selfless. The size of your success is measured by the strength of your desire; the size of your dream; and how you handle the disappointment along the way.

Feel free to trust people, feel free to get disappoint. Give people numerous chance to trust you for it enlightens your character but do not degrade yourself in it. Do not always step up to fulfil people’s expectation for you have your own life to live to enjoy to be happy. Learn to say no, learn to take credit for each and everything you do, learn to share it as well but do not learn to always share it. A leopard does not change his spots, or change its feeling that spots are rather a credit. The most important thing for a person is to eastablish a credit, a reputation and a character. Follow a simple quote ” everyone doesn’t deserve a platinum, some are happy with bronze.”

Failure is first attempt at learning

0
ailure is the key to your success

Definitions are used to describe a word, but it depends upon you how you want to ingress the meaning. Failure is defined as an instance of failing or lack of success but certain people also define “F.A.I.L” as first attempt at learning. Failure is very real and every individual has faced failure once in their lifetime. What is important is not the failure but how you cope up with it.

The moment when we see not selected on the paper, a email from a dream job, finishing fourth on the finish line and all you can hear is the decrepitating sound of your dreams scrunching right in front of your eyes.  The sheer disappointment and prominent feeling of reprehensible is felt by every inhabitant on this earth.

failureIf one door closes there is a small window open somewhere, you just have to find that window. If you are feeling disparage and exhausted then give a chance to redeem yourself. Don’t feel sorry for yourself or let any other person make you feel it. The worst thing you can do from failure is not learning. Nothing in the world can teach you better then failure itself. Take time off to measure your strength and weakness and instead of contemplate on weakness cultivate your strengths.

Einstein once said “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it will spend its whole life believing that is stupid”.

So never sell yourself short by restricting your success in comparison to the achievements of others. Never allow your failures to dampen your positive attitude but use it as an inspiration and eliminate senile perception that failure is atrocious and keep a constructive attitude. Go out there and show failure people what you’re made of. Failure is a deadly combination of fragmented dreams, a last chance and will of shattering the notions of society, age and gender.

Let your emotions sink in, accept you failure, cease ruminating and assess the deep rooted cause of failure. Then rise again, formulate, see the virtual reality, introspect and then implement not to be knocked again. And this time don’t give any room to any mistakes or failures. Stand tall with your head high. And always remember that you have something that the bitter taste of failure that successors don’t. After all success tastes the sweetest to those who have seen it slips out of their hands once.

nawazuddinEvery successful person has once failed in their life, and just because they took a decision not to surrender but to continue with the journey has made them stand where they are today. For instance now a trade mark name in Bollywood is Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Born to farmers in UP. Nawazuddin first worked as a chemist, later moved to Delhi to only be a watchman. Meanwhile he developed an interest in theatre in Delhi and moved to Mumbai to try his luck in movies. In spite of being a phenomenal actor he did not get any constructive job and kept appearing in small roles. He started conducting acting workshops to earn a living. He got noticed as a reporter in Peepli Live and there has been no looking back for him since then.

“Most great people have attained great success just one step beyond their greatest feeling.”

Never back down from your path towards your goal who knows if you are just a step away from your destination.

Talking Myths about Rajasthan

Having Myths about Rajasthan

Being one of the biggest states of India, Rajasthan is also famous for its myths that every outsider wants to know. Rajasthan is also known for its different cultures, colours and referred as the land of brave warriors. The people of Rajasthan often migrate around different places for their business works, education and other purposes. But during this stay, they face different myths about Rajasthan that are persuasive in rest of the world. These are some of the funny Myths that every Rajasthani experience:

“Tu pakka Marwari hai” : Really?

imagesIf you belong to or are basically from Rajasthan, then you are simulated as a Marwari. For god sake please stop assuming that. Rajasthan has different cultures and diversities. Marwaries are Indigenous traders group of India whose origin is from Marwar region of Rajasthan. Laxmannagar, Jodhpur, Nagore, Pali, Barmer and Jalore are some of the regions of Marwar. So people having origin from these districts can be inscribed as Marwari. Not everyone who is from Rajasthan can be referred as Marwari.

Do you travel on Camels there? No!

franzbird / Pixabay
franzbird / Pixabay

Rajasthan too has well functioning roads, flyovers and bridges in most of the areas. People of Rajasthan either in urban or rural areas have their own vehicles to travel. Not every place of Rajasthan is covered with desert. So why would people travel on camels everywhere? Only northwestern region of Rajasthan is covered with desert known as Thar Desert. In that region only Camels and Sheep are used.
“Rajasthani people have their house in desert! Sounds so cool”
Can you imagine surviving in that hot weather? No! A big no. There are camps for the people who travel through the desert to rest in. Deserts are not cool at all to live. People generally assume the camps to be houses but there are only few of the Rajasthanis who have seen desert. Even many of them haven’t ever heard about the desert. Because deserts are mainly in the districts of Jaisalmer, Badmer and Bikaner which is very far and difficult to reach.

Not all Rajasthanis can speak local language!

images-1Marwari language is a synonym of Rajasthani language but whole of the Rajasthani people don’t use this language to speak. And this language problem arises most of the time when an outsider or your friends says you to speak or sing a song in Rajasthani language. And you might end up saying “Khamma Ghani Hokam” which too is learnt from television.

It does rain as well in Rajasthan!

Rajasthan is same as other states in case of monsoon. It does rain there as well like other states even heavy rain most of the times. Weather of Rajasthan changes drastically because of the climatic conditions of deserts and lakes. One can experience flood there and drought as well in other deserts. There is no fear or anything of drought or scarcity of rain in Rajasthan.

“Kalio kud padio mela mai” – traditional song?

rajastanThis song of Rajasthan is world famous for its cultural dance and music. It is a form of Kalbeliya music which defines the culture, language and colours of Rajasthan. But this is not the only kalbeliya song in Rajasthan. There are many other regional songs also. So why this song is played everywhere every time when it comes to Rajasthani tradition.

What about Rajasthani attires?

Rajasthan has an artistic culture which reflects the antique way of living life. Their attires shows the folk and culture of Rajasthan. There is no such attires of Rajasthan as shown in movies or daily soaps. And not everyone in Rajasthan wears those traditional attires. Only some of the people of rural areas could be seen wearing that. But except these areas the attires of the people are common as those of other states.

Jaipur-Udaipur is nearer? Not at all!

Being far or near is not all about rhyming words. Just because the name Jaipur and Udaipur pronounce or rhymes well, it doesn’t mean that these places are near. It covers approx 500 km to reach Udaipur from Jaipur whether traveled by car, bus or train. It takes minimum 7 hours to travel.
Being a Heritage state, Rajasthan has its own savour. But because of some stereotypes, these myths have been developed in the mind of people who have never travelled or gone through Rajasthan.

Love Cannot Be Measured

0
love quotes
Love does not control. There is nothing about love that is controlling or manipulating. Love is the ability to effect people how they feel. It’s not about how love can be measured but the thing is by love what changes can be made to people. One concern people seem that i have to mention that we have the ability to send love to other people is about one person controlling another. When a person is sad, depressed or angry , his actions resemble the lack of love. Love tends to behave in different ways, that one who feels unloved, angry or depressed.
imagesNormally, that is accepted that there is not much we can do, but that is just an illusion. We Have the ability to send massive love to people, animals, plants and our environment. The result can be astounding. Loving someone is wonderful but giving massive love is the real magic that we can really see .We can fill our homes with love , our surrounding with love and pleasant you will surprise by seeing how plants really well do when they are surrounded by love.
There’s nothing stopping anyone from filling the world with love .So let’s do that and make our world with a super care and with love .And the main point , whom we do we send love to ? Here we will present few facts on fasting that very few people know. This has been found out by the researchers and scientist and therefore it is important to know all this.

  • How is our Body on a Fast

Human bodies are equipped to handle periods of not eating and the credit goes to our ancestors and since the ancestors who made it through those lean times are the ones who survived our DNA may actually be coded to receive a benefit from fasting.

Lets see how every one ‘s body reacts when you stop feeding it :

We all know how our digestive system breaks down carbohydrates into the sugar glucose after we eat. We know this clearly. We studied that glucose is major necessity and it comes from food. This being body’s major source of energy. Glucose then travels to your body’s cells to provide them with fuel.  When we don’t eat, the supply of glucose in your blood drops and your body turns to stored glucose, called glycogen, for energy.

And once all the glycogen has been taken by the body , what happens is your body begins to burn fat and muscle stores to make its own glucose to fuel your cells. So, you see now the body burns fat and muscle which took you ages to build and because of fasting it all goes down the vain .

Thus, you will lose weight in the form of body fat. Also chemicals will make your blood acidic. And so there are few side effects like

  • bad breath
  • Fatigue
  • kidney and liver damage.
  • Fasting may help your heart.

It is okay if a person does Fasting for a day once a month. This is infact good as it may prevent heart diseases. Yes, cant believe it? The truth is this. It has been found that women who fasted a day in a month were less prone to heart diseases. So, yes fasting once in a while isn’t a bad option.

  • Possibility of preventing cancer.

It has also been found that fasting has a possibility of preventing cancer. Scientists feel this is natural way to let the body maintain its balance.

  • Fasting won’t help lose weight :

Fasting will not help you lose weight. This should be very clear right from the very first day. Some people have a misconception that fasting will help them become thin but it is a wrong thing to believe. Once they start eating again the carbohydrates will build up. It happens because of their faster metabolism and not over eating.

So, make sure you don’t fast with the intentions of loosing weight but as a naturally tendency to keep your body balanced and allow nature to handle its own thing in its own way. So , clear your misconception and eat and fast right.

  • Fasting is not same as eating a healthy diet.

It is to be understood that fasting wont replace a healthy diet. A good food with proper minerals, proteins and vitamins will help prevent all the problems be it any problem. So, if you believe that fasting is an alternative to healthy eating then you are wrong.

Therefore, make sure you eat regularly and good food. These days majority of the food is contaminated and hence finding healthy food in its pure form has become difficult. But then eating is always better than fasting. Except on a few occasions make sure you eat well.

Conclusion :

It is good that people fast occasionally and it has been going since ages. It has biological benefits but the problem is when we cross our limit and do things in excess. We should not fast more than is required. Our body needs proper food with enough nutrition and so,  fasting once a month is good enough.

Also, it is to be understood that fasting wont replace a healthy diet. A good food with proper minerals, proteins and vitamins will help prevent all the problems be it any problem. So, if you believe that fasting is an alternative to healthy eating then you are wrong.

So, know what is right and live your life gracefully .
