AUTISM

0

There are so many people that are suffering from disorders. In India, people think that disorder is a disease… but this is not true. Disease can be recovered, but disorder can’t. People think that the people with disorder are considered to be psycho, but it’s not true. There are so many disorder in world which affect the people very badly and one of them is AUTISM. An autistic is always in their own world. They do not considered themselves to be a part of this world. They are not involved in anything and even do not want to.

A child with autism is not ignoring you, they are waiting you to enter their world. An autistic is not able to express, that how he is feeling, where the pain in body, etc. They do not much interact with people. Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impaired social interaction, verbal communication, and restricted and repetitive behaviour. Parents usually notice in first two years of their child’s life and sometimes in the initial stage of their life. The range and severity of symptoms can vary widely. Common symptoms include difficulty with communication, difficulty with social interactions, obsessive interests and repetitive behaviours. Now a days, people has observed so many behavioural problem in autistic people like in inappropriate social interaction, poor eye contact, compulsive behaviour, impulsivity repetitive movements, self-harm, repetition of words or action. Development Problems like learning disability or speech delay in a child. Muscular Problem like poor coordination, Psychological problem like unaware of others emotions or depression, Speech problem like speech disorder or abnormal tone of voice and any other problem. A child’s autism diagnosis affects every member of the family in different ways. Parents must now place their primary focus on helping their child with ASD, which may put stress on their marriage, other children, work, finances, and personal relationships and responsibilities. Parents now have to shift much of their resources of time and money towards providing treatment and interventions for their child, to the exclusion of other priorities.

The needs of a child with ASD complicates familial relationships, especially with siblings. However, parents can help their family by informing their other children about autism and the complications it introduces, understanding the challenges siblings face and helping them cope, and involving members of the extended family to create a network of help and understanding. It’s widely acknowledged that parenting is the hardest job of all and this is especially true for parents of children with autism, who face a different set of challenges. While cases range from mild to severe, all autism spectrum disorders affect a child’s ability to communicate and interact with others. In mild case it’s not that difficult for parents as they do not show such signs of autistic but when we go to severe case, yes it’s difficult for parents as well as society to accept them as they can harm anyone. After so many problem faced by the child and parents, there are so many unusual thing about autistic that they can be opposite to given data because we don’t know that which part of their brain is being affected. Example- Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, research shows that they were suffering from a form of autism called Asperger Syndrome, which could enhance their thinking powers. So, it’s not like that autistic are psycho it’s just that we need to accept them in our society as they are. And help them to survive in this world because nobody knows that there may be is another Isaac Newton or Albert Einstein exist in this society.

Rules of Introverts

2

#RULE 1-

We are very shy so don’t think that we are egoistic if we are not making the first move. We also want to talk to you and want to break the barriers but lack of guts always pull us back.

#RULE 2-

Whenever we see you in public, we just pick our phones and start tapping it uselessly to pretend that we have not seen you. That’s why every gathering or get together is incomplete without our phones.

#RULE 3-

Our friend circle is very limited and we don’t like to make friends just like that. We make the true friends only with whom we can share each and everything.

#RULE 4-

We won’t ask our things back after giving you because we really feel very hesitating for asking our own things. So, that’s why we lose our pens most of the time. Many introverts can relate with this rule.

#RULE 5-

We won’t ask for any favor so easily. We will take a lot of time to collect enough guts to ask you for a favor and we always remember it and are always grateful.

#RULE 6-

We just hate public gatherings. If a single friend is there along with us, then we can survive the public gatherings, otherwise we need our phone only. If nothing is there then we might go crazy too.

#RULE 7-

We won’t dance in any public gathering until and unless we are completely forced and are thrown to the dance floor itself. Then also we just shake ourselves a little and come back to our seat with a satisfying long breath.

#RULE 8-

We face a lot of difficulty in proposing our love too. That’s why some of the times we are not able to open our mouths and our love is taken away.

#RULE 9-

If the party is of only the close friends then only we can enjoy our best so don’t invite others too for the party.

#RULE 10-

We are day dreamers. Sometimes we just lose ourselves in the moment and just reach into the world of imagination. We love to make up the stories which never happened and live with that happiness only.

#RULE 11-

We can never step out from the home without the headphones. For us our headphones are like our life savers which protect us from the blah blah of this world.

#RULE 12-

If a teacher asks us to present the topic in front of the class then suddenly our throats are choked, heart starts to beat at its maximum speed, our blood pressure lowers and we feel that why the tsunami is not coming and why this world doesn’t end. No, it’s not dramatic. Ask it from any introvert, he can surely feel the pain.

#RULE 13-

Sometimes to avoid the conversation we just see the messages in the notification bar itself and open the chat after 1 hour to reply back when they are not online anymore. We love to chat but in chunks only. Sometimes if we don’t want to chat with the particular person then we just remove our last seen and don’t open the chat for many hours, sometimes even days too just to avoid him. Is that rude? No, right?

#RULE 14-

When something is really irritating and we are just not able to concentrate then also we are not able to make that person aware about it because they are just chilled out and don’t even care.

#RULE 15-

We like the people but the empty room with a sound system fascinates us more.

#RULE 16-

We don’t prefer to get late for the class because it becomes awkward for us as we think that the whole class’s attention will be on us only. Sometimes, when the teacher close the door from inside then it is very common that we are never going to knock the door.

#RULE 17-

We can’t ask the doubts in the class only. We wait for the class to end so that we can ask the faculty personally.

#RULE 18-

We love our friends and family a lot but are not able to express our love towards them. If we don’t express it then don’t think that we don’t care. We do care but we are very bad at expressing it.

#RULE 19-

Sometimes we just like to cut ourselves from this world and want to live just alone. We are alone but not necessarily lonely because there are always many thoughts running in our mind uselessly. So, please don’t mind our behavior.

Talking with Flag Bearers of Hindi Cinema: The Directors

0

By all accounts, 2016 was no great year for Hindi films, particularly if measured in terms of box office or footfalls. What was impossible to overlook however, is sheer variety of cinema that was an offer. The result of an often singular vision of directors, who boldly dared to go where few had gone before. From rousing biopics of rousing public figures to progressive thought provoking dramas that hammered their message. From compelling recreations of true events, to engaging works of friction. Some of the year’s most interesting films reflected the passion and the commitment of the directors who did not hold back from the fear of failing. Ram Madhvani skillfully evoked the mounting tension within a hijacked flight cabin, literally transporting the viewers to the scene of the harrowing tragedy in Neerja. Nitesh Tiwari took the true story of a has been wrestler and his two daughters and crafted an epic saga of sport, family and girl power in Dangal. Abhishek Chaubey maintained a tight grip on multiple narratives in Udta Punjab. Creating a powerful portrait of a landscape, marred by drugs. Shakun Batra mind genuine laughs especially tears from the simple premise of a family reunion, delivering an authentic portrait of human frailty in Kapoor and Sons. Ali Abbas Zafar fashioned a moving love-story, at the heart of a sport’s film, shrewdly harnessing his superstar’s leading man’s charisma to carve a flesh and blood character in Sultan. And Karan Johar employed all the trappings of Hindi cinema, including hit and catchy songs and heart-throb stars to deliver a fresh perspective on the messy business of unrequited love in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Between them they made some of the best most successful or simply the most talked about films of 2016. The six film makers opened up about the steps they took, to win their actor’s trust, the fears they are often crippled by and their cynicism about where the industry is headed, when they assembled to share their thoughts and perspective.

  1. Q) Some directors say that they expect their actors to have implicit faith in them, do you feel that this level of trust is crucial?
  2. A) According to director Ram Madhvani, he feels that it is too much to expect from an actor. But it is also necessary for director and actor to have a relationship of faith and trust. But at the same time, a director owe them a lot of explanations for having faith in them. But sometimes you have actors which are not on the same page, so at that time a director needs to negotiate with them.
  3. A) Director Karan Johar feels that actors are most vulnerable creatures that exist. And he thinks it is not possible for a director to just deal with them professionally. From a very young age he discovered, that a director is their counsellor, their guide, therapist, friend and everything else. He also says as a result of all this, a director knows what is happening in their personal life and that is going to have an impact on director professionally. In the morning when they come on set , director always have hint about the baggage they carry and the insecurity they have in the moment. So no matter how big a star they are, they are completely scared and looking for a nod from their director. So sometimes, director has to lie too, seeing the sensitivity of the situation. A director has to hold actor’s hand and then do their work as he is a part of their journey.

A) Nitesh Tiwari feels that actors need to feel warm and fussy on sets as they too are human beings with sensibilities. He believes that there is no one set formula for actor director equation. So, sometimes director is warm and cordial and sometimes, he has to take out a stick.

  1. A) Shakun Batra believes if the actor trusts director, then the equation and working condition of both of them becomes very easy and calm. He feels what mostly happens is that the director has to hide his own insecurity in front of the actor. Sometimes it is more important how you say things than what you are saying. Director has to use different motivational techniques for different actors.
  1. Q) When a director is working with a star who has a bigger career than the present director, how does then a director brings trust to the table for that big superstar?

A) Nitesh Tiwari says first and foremost, he wants to highlight the fact that when an actor is buying into you, he/she is buying into director’s vision. For example, if he talks about Aamir Khan, working with him means he has to buy into your passion. Whether a director is able to deliver or not, Aamir does a lot of homework. Also his and Amir’s sensibilities match a lot. So there was no problem of convincing each other in his case he says.

  1. A) Ali Abbas Zafar says that he has a completely different take with Salman. He also says that the strongest part about Salman Khan is that he is very secure as an actor. So, as a superstar Salman’s concern is only the content of the story, he does not ever question smaller strokes. So he thinks while a director works with superstars, it becomes very comforting if the story is good as they are secure about their positions.
  1. Q) Does director have any kind of fear or apprehensions when the trailer of a movie is about to launch?
  1. A) Director Shakun Batra agrees and says that it happened to him in his first film. When first day one walks on set and sees plethora of cinematic equipments, one realise the fact that someone has put huge money for all of that, the pressure comes automatically. Also, he has come from a team of assistant directors so these instruments were only meant for him to organise. But when one is main director, a pressure inside one to use all equipments becomes too much.
  1. A) Director Abhishek Chaubey feels that he fears more while he makes film than the time of trailers, because it is much more daunting managing people and their egos while a film is made. So, half of the time one is managing stuffs like spot boys, assistance, hiring etc. And in the middle of all that, one is trying to tell a story, that is more difficult for him than facing the launching trailer. So, he feels that the first skill that a director should know is how to be a good people’s person.
  1. Q) Is it hard to make money from movies now or does it worry producers where film-making is headed to in terms of box-office prospects?
  1. A) Karan Johar believes that contemporary times are crisis times for movie making and it is very hard to put a film together no matter who you are. As productions are dropped by nearly 40%, so footfalls are literally drowned very drastically. So, it is the biggest wake up call for everyone involved in movie making process including actors, writers, producers, directors everyone.
  2. A) Director Ram Madhvani believes as a director he has a different take. He says, now times are liberating as now director’s reputation is not based on the friday release. It is based on what is the content of movie. So if a good movie is made, and on first day, if it does not gets a grand opening, eventually during first and second week, it is going to collect money for what it deserves.
  3. Q) If you could make only one film what would it be?

A) Director Shakun Batra says that he has a script which he has been developing for a long time and did not make a movie out if it because at the time he was starting the project,  Gangs of Wasseypur was out and his script was about mafia too. So looking at the similarity, he stopped that project.

  1. A) Ali Abbas Zafar says that he has one film in his mind, and it is since the time he first thought of making movie, it was a biopic on a girl from village. He would like to make a movie on that.
  2. A) Karan Johar says that he wants to make Agneepath again as his father literally felt burdened by its failure.

With all these films we feel that Hindi cinema is in safe hands and we are greatly looking forward to have a lot more from them in 2017.

My Hospital Bag List

0

Words cannot describe the phase of pregnancy in the life of a woman. Like most people say, you must experience it to understand the depth of the feeling. It is a blessed period when the mother and the child share an inexplicable bond. The fathers are equally pumped about the pregnancy. They walk the extra mile to make the baby and the mother feel contented and adored. Pouring over many books and internet material to get a hang of the situation, some men do fuss about the pregnancy. Sometimes, more so than the mothers!

The pregnant couples fret about, making an endless list of things to prepare for the arrival of the baby. Right from decorating the nursery to the baby-proofing of the house. Anything and everything related to the word baby feels monumental. But the first list that you need to make when you are gearing up for your delivery is very important. The list of things you need to take to the hospital is crucial and you must get it right. Here’s my hospital bag list of things that might be handy postpartum.

FOR THE BABY:

  1. Gripe water

You can never really guess the stomach situation of the baby and it is better to carry a bottle of gripe water with you.

  1. Filler or a small spoon

A filler is a little tube like thing with a sucking pump on top. It usually comes with a bottle of medicine. In case the baby doesn’t latch on to the breast, it is easier to give milk through a filler. A small spoon is also a pragmatic option.

  1. Nappy crème

You can never go wrong with a tube of nappy crème. Pop it in the backpack without a second thought.

  1. Soother/Pacifier

Experts consider it wise to practice the use of a soother for the baby from an early age. It helps the baby to sleep better and has a great calming effect.

  1. Warm clothes and blankets

The frail body of a new-born is sensitive to the temperature outside of the mother’s womb. Pack a lot of thick tees, socks, and leg warmers for the baby. A couple of blankets are always great in keeping them warm and comfortable.

  1. Wet wipes, tissues, diapers, and changing mats

Well, the title says it all. The essentials for a diaper change are an inevitable must. Ensure that you pack a bunch of soft towels too.

7. Artificial milk powder

In case the baby cannot feed on the mother’s milk, a packet of baby milk powder is a great option.

  1. Milk bottles, cleaning brush and a covered box

Cram in extra bottles, a cleaning brush and a covered box to keep them in after sterilization.

  1. Kettle

Don’t be sceptical about packing a small kettle, it is always handy to have one with you.

  1. Baby lotion, shampoo, and body wash

Undoubtedly, you need the bathing essentials for your little one. Pick the proper and safe brand.

FOR THE MOTHER:

  1. ID proof, hospital-related documents

Bustling about in a rush to get to the hospital, people often forget the ID proof documents and the likes. Ensure that you have all the required documents packed if you are a forgetful person.

  1. Maternity gowns or button ups

Always be equipped with spare clothes of your own. Maternity gowns or feeding shirts are comfortable as you need to feed the baby repetitively.

  1. Sanitary napkins

This item is a given when it comes to packing the postpartum essentials.

  1. Hand sanitizer and disinfectant liquid

A disinfectant liquid which is extremely useful when you need to wash the baby clothes. Its antiseptic properties leaves a sanitary and clean effect. Hand sanitizer bottles are a given when you stay at the hospital for too long.

  1. Bathroom essentials

Pack your toothbrush, paste, shampoo, and body wash. Nothing like the comfort of using your preferred bathroom essentials.

  1. Snacks and chocolates

You never know what mood you might be in and some light treats always help. Some energy bars and chocolates have a great soothing effect.

17. Novels and a Diary

Always carry reading material with you for it calms your nerves more than you know. Also, keep a little diary or a book to record your contractions and feeding periods of the baby.

  1. Make-up kit with comb

Carry a make-up kit and a comb, what’s a little clean up going to do!

18. Change of clothes

Spare clothes for the mother is always appreciated. Pack at least two sets of clothes for yourself.

  1. Flip flops

It is better to not walk barefoot in the maternity ward. So, pack a pair of flip-flops as they are extremely cosy.

Hope you find my list of essentials useful for your postpartum needs. Feel free to add more to it if need be.

Happy parenting!

Grandma’s Sumptuous Butter Chicken

0

Great food and grandmothers are symbiotic in nature, one cannot exist without the other. It is a primary rule that grandmas stuff you with humble home-cooking and no restaurant quality dish will stand in the way of their immense love for feeding the grand kids. They pour their heart and soul into the food they make and you always seem like you have lost 10 pounds in their non-judgemental eyes, which is extremely reassuring to your ego. No one has to ask you twice to eat because happiness and eating are synonymous!

My grandmother is one such kind soul who has a ravenous passion for cooking and has graciously granted permission to share the recipe for her sumptuous butter chicken. This dish has so many happy memories tied to it and hence it is very close to my heart.

Ingredients required for making naani’s scintillating butter chicken consist of:

  • ½ a kilo of chicken
  • 400 grams of tomato paste
  • 250 ml of thick full cream/whipping cream
  • 5-6 green chilies
  • A sprig of coriander leaves
  • ½ tsp of Coriander powder
  • 1½ tsp of Cumin powder
  • ½ tsp of Garam masala
  • 1 tbsp. of ginger and garlic paste
  • 1 tsp of chili powder
  • 2-3 tbsp. of butter
  • 1 tsp of Salt or 1 cube of Maggi chicken stock

Method:

  1. Marinate the chicken with chili powder, salt, and ginger and garlic paste for an hour.
  2. Take a saucepan and pop in the heavy cream, tomato paste, Maggi cube, coriander powder, cumin powder, and garam masala.
  3. Allow the sauce to blend in the spices and simmer it for 15-20 after it comes to a boil. Occasionally, give it a stir or two.
  4. In a frying pan, splash some oil and shallow fry the marinated chicken, until it looks golden and a little crispy.
  5. Toss the fried chicken into the creamy sauce and let it boil for a while. Keep swiping the sides of the saucepan with a spatula to prevent the sauce from sticking to the surface.
  6. The last step is to sauté the green chilies and chopped coriander leaves in butter. Garnish the chicken with this elegant mixture.

This recipe is simple yet quite technical. You need to nail the method and use the same ingredients for an outstanding output. The secret ingredient is unequivocally love and all the mush from your heart. This delicacy goes well with a bowl of sizzling fried rice or buttery flaky parathas. Don’t forget to impress your family with this number!

Who Says Long-Distance Friendships Don’t Last?

0

Friends are truly a blessing in our lives. They are the perfect creations of God who is practically our soul mate. Except maybe the ‘in love with them’ part but you totally love them no matter what. But some of us are unlucky when that twin best friend of ours moves away to an entirely different continent. To think that there are oceans separating the pair of us is the despicable diabolical plan of a super-power. But that is when the force of friendship kicks in, we rage against the storms with limitless phone calls and text messages. Catching up with each other’s lives becomes a top priority once a week or once in two weeks when stuck in time crunches.

The most lovable part about a long-distance friendship is that you get to pick up from where you left off. There is absolutely no hesitation or embarrassing silences. You can chat about anything and everything under the sun. Be it a Game of Thrones meme or an incident that occurred on a T.V show. Addressing each other with expletives is a given as both the parties assume it as nothing but an expression of love. Also, it depicts the level of comfort and the right amount of trust you have in each other. There are no qualms about video-chatting considering the state of your hair at two am in the morning. Since that friend is special, they get to see all sides of you and they would do just the same.

Ever thought about those random texts you can send that one friend who knows your devious mind all too well? How can you not cherish that kind of relationship? Long distance friendships are tedious and we are constantly put down because of it. Although we hardly ponder about how those friendships that last long when a geographical barrier pops up in between. Who can guarantee that we stay true to this friendship?

There is a vibe of negativity that steps into this long-distance friendship. One thing that we need to come to terms with is that any relationship requires an effort. Giving attention to the person in question is of utmost importance. Four am friends don’t sprout overnight because relationships like that require trust. It demands time and mutual coalition. As miraculous as it may seem when you count the several years of your friendship, it just shows how much you care.

Long-distance friends are the people who choose to stick with us through thick and thin. Listening to our unrestrained rants and attempting to offer practical solutions, not for the sake of it but genuinely so. And we respond by religiously spending time with them, through a virtual medium at the least. Aspire to have that kind of friendship because when you two meet, there will be nothing stopping the two of you. Because a geographical barrier is just another line you strive to cross.

Friendships like that simply should last a lifetime.

PRIYANKA CHOPRA- WINNING HEARTS GLOBALLY!

0

When bollywood superstar Priyanka Chopra decided to leave her turf and make the move to Hollywood, a lot of people were apprehensive of her decision. People supported her and applauded her but a lot of people were quick to criticize, mock and troll her. Everyone believed that she would end up being just a fancy arm candy in a mega movie or make blink and miss appearances. But then Quantico happened, and there was Chopra, the first south Asian woman to ever play lead in an American series.

The general notion with Asian actors in Hollywood is that they are often given stereotypical roles, which has them playing store owners, cab drivers or geeks talking in a typical accent. Priyanka Chopra broke all barriers when she decided to play an unconventional FBI agent of American Origin in Quantico. This show gained so much popularity in a short time and happened to be one of the most viewed shows on the ABC network. Within a short span, Priyanka Chopra had gone on from being a relatively unknown face to a household name in US television.

Quantico was just the starting for Chopra’s fiery Hollywood career. From there she went on to grace almost all big red carpet events. Starting with the people’s choice award (where she even won her debut award for Quantico) to her iconic appearance in the Oscars and swaying hearts with that red dress at the Emmy awards.  Priyanka’s appearance at all the red carpets was always an anticipated one; not only by the Indian but the International media houses as well. She not only made sure that she shone bright among all the big Hollywood actors but also managed to emerge in the best dressed lists at all the awards.

But TV shows was not the only thing Priyanka had her eyes set on. After much speculation, the actress finally announced her debut Hollywood film ‘BAYWATCH’ where she plays the baddie Victoria Leeds. When most actresses often refrain from playing negative characters, Priyanka took a brave move.  The trailer of the film is evidence to it. While the first trailer had Chopra in just a blink and miss part, the second trailer did enough justice to her and had people swooning over her. She managed to grab enough attention in a film starring some of Hollywood’s biggest names like Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.

The journey to Hollywood has not been an easy one for Priyanka. Leaving an industry where she dominated, to stepping foot in a place where she was not known was a very difficult task. From giving auditions like a fresher for Quantico to now being on the covers of international lifestyle magazines and presenting awards with the cream crowd of Hollywood (we are hinting at Tom Hiddlestone) , her journey has been an epic one. Priyanka is no longer a ‘Bollywood’ actor anymore she is a global star who finds herself in one of TIME magazine’s most influential people and Forbes highest paid actresses. Here is to seeing much more of Priyanka on American screen and wishing her all the success in the world. We are also hoping that a lot of other Bollywood actress pursue a more global career; and as was quoted by her ‘ taking over the world , one desi girl at a time’.
