WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU ARE LACKING INSPIRATION TO WRITE

0

Writing is a wonderful job. It is a fun incentive to earn money by putting your thoughts into words. What can be more beautiful than that? It is both a very personal experience, and a very public one,as it not only helps the writer to put their burdens down on a clear sheet of paper, but also to influence people into collective thinking and mass recognition. However, what happens if you are stuck in a particularly nasty phase where words evade you, and you are unable to conjure up a great idea for a very interesting piece of writing? What if your mind convinces you that this phase is here to stay?

You need not worry any longer, for I have come up with some tips and tricks to lure words back to you, so that they may follow your directions and help you write spectacular pieces of writings.

VISIT THE LIBRARY

Children's education. Girl reading book at library.
Children’s education. Girl reading book at library.

This one is pretty simple. You just need to visit your favorite library and let those sweet-smelling books to do the trick. Spending hours in a room (or rooms) full of books is a sure shot way to find something to write about. Moreover, it is probably your favourite haunt, so its really a fun activity for you.

OBSERVE AND INTERPRET

Instead of walking around the city with noise-canceling earphones, take your time to observe things. Eavesdrop on conversations in the metro or in cafes, join the political word war going during your bus ride, watch couples talk about their future and subsequently, dream about yours; or listen to the daily gossip on fashion, Bollywood and lifestyle. You will find that there is more to learn by the word of mouth than you could ever believe.

ALWAYS CARRY A BOOK

Reading a book
Reading a book

Always carry a book or two, because it is never a bad idea to have good reading material, whether you are traveling, or sitting alone in your room. Read your favourite genres and analyse the stories in your own ways. Read both Fiction and Non- Fiction, so that you may be inspired by both the real world and the imagination realm.

VISIT UNUSUAL PLACES/ HAUNTS

Instead of sitting at home with a pen in your hand, searching for inspiration, get dressed and go for a solo tour of the city. Go to heritage sites that are not very popular among the public, or sit in the ruins of some ancient monument, knocked down by the passage of time, and learn its history. Such unusual haunts have a strange energy around them so that even if you are not able to derive enough inspiration from their history, you might feel a particular connection to these places, which will leave you thinking for days.

  • WATCH YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIES/ T.V SERIES

Whether you are watching a completely new t.v series, or rewatch your favorite movie, it is bound to help you find some writing material. The first experience with a movie makes you emotionally charged, which ultimately leaves you thinking about it. A sudden surge of emotions is always good for writing, as it leads to the free flow of ideas. Rewatching, on the other hand, helps you to critically analyse the story and the plot, without any emotions or bias. It helps you to identify issues and subjects which are otherwise hidden behind the main plot. Moreover, who doesn’t love to have a nice movie night with loads of popcorns and drinks?

So whenever you hit a snag, don’t panic. Just follow these steps and get your creative juices flowing. Also, remember to get off your couch!

“Give Peace a chance.”

Looking around, trying to observe the present conditions of the world, the only topic that was sure to have struck me was “terrorism”. Maybe the photograph of the dead Syrian child, the millions of prayers for Paris or the condition of the billions of refugees were not enough to stop this cruel act. Maybe they needed lot more of it. Maybe they needed a lot more of bloodshed and a lot more of innocent lives.

large_THE9cCuo-CnYbO14P49Gdm3UHP7SFRyu_gGAwgZIt_4

In between the 9/11 attacks at the Twin Towers and 14/7 attack at Nice, France, I grew up from being a child into a grownup adult. When I was a child, I had seen millions of Americans crying for what happened in their homeland. Now when I’m a grown up adult, I can see million others crying for what is happening around the globe. I did not know how to react then. But now, I do know. I can either cry like the others or I can stand up against it. I can raise up my voice to protest. I can make my voice reach to the millions of this country, billions of this world.

France Paris Attacks

I have been learning all the while that “an eye for an eye makes the world blind”. Looking at the situations around, I feel it would have been better to be blind. At least I wouldn’t have to see people being taken as hostages, people being ruthlessly attacked, beautiful monuments being destroyed and thousands crying like anything.

Maybe thousands of years from now, when science and technology will reach its zenith, when scientists will prove the possibility of life in some other planet, when all the space organisations together will make a huge spaceship and carry all the people of the earth, except those terrorists, to the other planet, maybe then, they will stop. When they will have all of the earth only for themselves, maybe then, they will stop. When they will be tired of enjoying everything alone, maybe then, they will stop. When they will start feeling lonely and plead for the others to come back, maybe then, they will stop. Maybe then, they will give up all guns. Maybe then, they will give peace a chance. Maybe then, they will understand that the power of love always wins over love of power. Maybe then, all will come and live as one family.

“You may say I’m a dreamer,
But I’m not the only one.
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world would be one.”

Hello best friends

bff

10 years down the line, let me go with that thought what will I be doing? Well, sitting in my apartment with my two best friends laughing, giggling, remembering the days and years we passed together the happy ones, the sad ones, the mixed emotional ones, the mood swings ones, the breakup ones, fights, cry, argue and what not! It is said that if you have your school best friend still as your best friend then they are forever! IF you have one best friend then that’s true, but if you have two best friends then you are a lucky one.

I have my two schools best friends, we aren’t sisters by blood, but sisters by soul, it has already been 10 years more since we are best friends, in fact, sisters. Only two survivors of my life, who are trusted by my mother. Let me be in any mood, sad, depress or happier or let it be the biggest news, it’s always them who I have to tell to; my new friends or my old one. They are the only one who knows the true me after my family, my good habits, my bad ones my deepest secret.

bffnull

We hang out together, go for long drives and laugh till stomach aches not everyone gets our stupid jokes, and people might think that they’re immature and childish, but together we make them funny and get a good laugh out of it! We have that telepathy where we know that if we are fine or not, As days are passing and we are busy building our career we never forget to celebrate our days together, birthdays and family party best of all is they bear my voice crack when I sing a song though I love that because I love annoying them!

It’s never a day I got a chance to thank them, but just thank you is not enough because they have given more than I deserve.
Thank you again,
Best friends.

The claim

Review of ‘The Claim’ by Sanjay Bordia.

Writer- Sanjay Bordia

Publisher- Frog books.

First published- 2015.

Genre- Investigation, mystery.

‘The Claim’ as the title suggests is a claim to a sum of 10 crores from the Insurance company. the story begins with the panicky Sunil, who gets to know the death of Mr. Prabhat Mehra, son of kp mehra who had recently issued an insurance of ten crores. As per the rules of the insurance company, The 3M Chandani group sets out their able Auditor Mohan to look for any foul play before handing over the sum to the family of the deceased. All seems well and the stench of foul play is not evident in any case. All the evidences and proves support the story of KP Mehra and his family. all the puzzle pieces seems to be rightly placed. but something within Mohan’s heart does not lets him rest with what he has got to hear. He, Along with his team of two continues to investigate the mystery until they discover something gruesome.

Writing Style- The novel is written in a simple prose structure and the narrator is a third person who does not belong to the book.

Reviewer’s views- According to me, the story fails to hook the readers to it initially, and it has several digressions. the investigators rush to  food every now and then and on every opportunity gives a sense of usual things happening. the story is also made tedius going into great details about the meetings and formation of the team of investigating auditors, killing the actual suspense of the Claim.  But by the end, we know that Mohan can solve the mystery. and we are sure of the capability of his two other colleagues. The story peaks in the end and everything seems to be solved and the reader gets a climax. but just then the author drops another of his skills and the case is back to the same position as before. They solve it and narrate their findings before the company.

  • The novel has portrayed social issues by showcasing the condition of hospitals in rural areas. The reference to poor conditions of government hospitals and the ignorance of people triggers the readers’ mind into thinking whether or not such a terrible condition really exist. The story would be loved by those who like Sherlock holmes and are CID series.

Ratings- 3.5/5.

Girri Chaupal- A Revolutionary Grievance Redressal Framework

GIRRI CHAUPAL

Girri Chaupal- A Revolutionary Grievance Redressal Framework

Days of facing the bureaucratic red tape, harassment by public officials or prolonged delays in hardly a day’s task will soon be history in East Delhi.

Today, I was fortunate enough to witness the ‘40th Girri Chaupal’ organized in Kailash Nagar Colony by the BJP Government. As simple as the name is and so is the concept of the Chaupal, the event managed to bring about results which are truly beyond one’s imagination.

Girri Chaupal indeed, is a very effective platform for the redressal of public grievances with the motive to reach out to maximum people, right in their area and to their maximum convenience. Every week, Mahesh Girri Ji organizes a Chaupal in a specific area in East Delhi Constituency. The event is attended by officials from all the Government Departments, including PWD, BSES, DDA, East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) (including works, project, building, education, health, malaria, sanitation, electrical, license and horticulture divisions), Traffic Police, Delhi Police, SWD, DUSIB, DJB, Health, Education, Irrigation and Flood Control, Food and Civil Supply. Residents of the area come to the Chaupal with their grievances and the Chaupal organizers ensure that all the people’s issues are resolved and no one goes back unattended.GIRRI CHAUPAL

So today, impervious to the blazing heat, residents of Kaislash Nagar and the nearby areas came with their grievances and every person’s complaints against the Government functioning or any social issue they were facing were catered to on the spot. The thing which boggled my mind was that it was Mahesh Girri Ji himself who listened to the residents’ pleas or complaints and made the respective department to attend to the issue without any ado. The department official was made to give in writing the date by which the task will be done.

Not only this, the Chaupal was also a platform for people to get enrolled in any available government scheme, be it the pension scheme for the Handicapped or for Widows. Besides, people also got a change to register for obtaining any Government document or identity proof, namely Aadhar card, ration card among others.

The highlight of the event was Mahesh Girri Ji’s announcement to build a multi-level parking in Gandhinagar from his MPLADS fund.

Girri Chaupal has not only been successful in redressing the grievances with 100% fulfillment but has also built people’s faith in the Government.  With his integrity and willingness to serve the people, Mahesh Girri ji has sent a strong message to all the Ministers of the country to realize their duty towards the people.

P.S. To all the dozy and irresponsible Government officials, kindly wake up, your days in the system are limited.

Correct Body Posture = Correct Mood

Proper posture is more than just physical alignment; it’s a dynamic state where every part of your body is positioned neutrally and efficiently. While standing, this means having a straight back and chin up, with your body poised and balanced. Often overlooked, body posture is a silent yet powerful communicator, offering insights into our attitudes and emotions.

The Impact of Posture on Perception and Mood

  1. Communication Beyond Words: Our actions and body language often speak louder than words. To create a positive impression, it’s crucial to be mindful of our posture, movements, and overall body language. While verbal communication is important, our non-verbal cues, including posture, often form the basis of first impressions.
  2. Mind-Body Connection: Our thoughts and emotions influence our posture. Conversely, our posture can have a significant impact on our mood and mindset. Research has shown that different postures can evoke various emotional states, affecting our conclusions and decision-making processes.

Transforming Mindset Through Posture

  1. Control and Balance: Instead of letting your mind dictate your body’s state, reverse the dynamics. Let your body guide your mind towards healing and balance.
  2. Cultivating Calmness and Positivity: A calm and peaceful demeanor can foster positive thoughts. Certain postures aid in maintaining this internal harmony.
  3. Effective Postures for Mental Well-being:
    • Sitting Straight: Sitting upright on a chair not only maintains spinal health but also encourages positive thinking while diminishing negative thoughts.
    • Standing Tall: Standing with a straight posture, devoid of any curves, can combat feelings of depression. This posture promotes relaxation and a sense of cheerfulness, potentially reducing the production of stress hormones.
  4. Decision Making and Creativity: A correct posture enhances cognitive processes. It aids in clearer thinking, better decision-making, and can even spur creative thinking outside the box.
  5. Maintaining Energy: Choose postures that invigorate you. Avoid lethargy and aim for poses that energize, such as skipping, which can stimulate both mental and physical alertness, aiding in swift and effective decision-making.

Conclusion

Embracing good posture is a transformative journey for both the mind and the body. It not only helps in developing a positive self-image but also plays a crucial role in mood regulation and cognitive function. By maintaining correct posture, we can pave the way towards improved mental well-being and potentially shape a more positive destiny. Remember, a well-aligned body not only reflects a poised appearance but also fosters a balanced and healthy mind.

The music of Silence

0
silence is the most powerful scream quote

Oh the pin just dropped. The society just mocked. That raped girl just cried. Syria in deep pain died. Did you hear it?
The storm that just hit the soul and not the ear drum. Did that blow you you off? Yes, right? That’s how silence speaks.
The music of Silence
It’s has the loudest voice ever. The voice that shakes the minds. The voice that has the power to express, convey and impart a message, a signal and a concern that even words can’t deliver. A mute tear drop is an expression of upsetness. The same tear drop complimented with a lip curve signifies sheer happiness.
The music of Silence

The music of Silence
Her pinky blushing and a warm wet kiss says it all. Did she require the letters Y, E and S to answer him? No, right? Many people say that “I LOVE YOU” are the three magical words that can change your world. But according to me, the mere feeling of the expression called love is FELT and EXPRESSED by showing concern, silently caring and respecting from within. True love doesn’t actually require words to showcase its authenticity.

Silence is sometimes the strongest reply. If a girl is silent then it means that she is giving upon you. A silent ocean brings the heaviest tides. Silence is never empty. It is full of answers.

You can listen to more things in a silent and empty room. Your very own soul is silent too. Ever introspected deep within? Sit mute for a couple of minutes everyday and seek within. Peep through your soul. You’ll understand yourself as a whole. You’ll discover new spices that you possess but were earlier unaware of.
The music of Silence
The devastated people of Syria, who silently cried. The victim of Nirbhaya case, a silent death she died. But the impact, it was thunderous and stormy. Incidents always take place without making any noise. What bangs our ears is the noise created by their impact on our minds. Our reaction speaks. Meaningful silence is more powerful than meaningless words.

You must be wondering about the uses of this Silent aspect. Well, if you’re having a big fight with your boyfriend, then silence is the best reply ever. If your gang is a gossip master, then you need to have great listening skills, and silence is the key to it. If you decided to Introspect deep within yourself to wash away your sins and analyse your strengths, then keeping mum is a path you need to cross.
The music of Silence
So next time when you hear silence screaming, don’t try filling the void with voluminous activities. Simply listen to the music of Silence.

Things only a North Indian staying in South India can relate to

0
NORTH SOUTH

Are you a hard core North Indian?
Are you suddenly forced to shift to south India?
You can’t go back because of unavoidable reasons.
Difference in pronunciation, Difference in food-habits. You feel a bit left out.
You might feel that you have undergone a surgery.
Well, there are few things that you will definitely relate to if you are a north Indian shifted to southern region of India.

  1. Language Issues: This is one of the major challenge you need to face. The people have their own regional dialects. You don’t understand their language. Hindi is the national language but not so in south. In south, many people don’t know Hindi. If you don’t know their language or your English isn’t strong enough. So, there can exist a communication gap. Some even don’t know English. Thus, it becomes a major challenge for you.
  2. Food: This is the biggest problem because without food you can’t even think of. You can’t survive without it . But what you see. You will find idli, dosa everywhere on every street. No doubt, south food is yummy and delicious. But, you will definitely take time to get use to it. You will start missing those parathas and street food.
  3. Pronunciation Issues: You are going to have tough time to learn how to pronounce things. They have different names for vegetables as well. You will have a tough time with the vendors and auto-rickshaw pullers. As they are less educated, communication with them becomes a bit challenging.
  4. Music: Music is one thing that keeps us alive and energizing whole day. If you are addicted to Hindustani or Bollywood music, staying in South, listening to Southern music is really tough situation for you. But sooner or later, you will realize the delightness of the music. You can recognize the originality and beauty of the music.
  5. Lungis and Rajni Fans Everywhere: Though initial level of  staying in South will be a challenging for you. You will find lungis everywhere. No jeans, no stylish clothes which you will be adhere to. South is equipped with Rajni fans. Rajni, a legend is worshiped as a God figure in South. But if you don’t like these things, it’s better to keep yourself quiet. As this might hurt their sentiments. They may also arouse negative feelings for you.
  6. Recognition Problem: You are unable to differentiate between Tamil or Telugu or say Malayalam or Kannad. Because all seem to be similar to you. You can’t recognize the caption written on the hoardings. You become an expert at guessing what’s written by viewing the picture.

You need to adjust. Adjustments might be difficult or challenging, but consider it as fun. You will definitely discover something different about South. You’ll soon fall in love with their culture, their food, their tradition. You just need to create your own different perspective.
