Hope -the anchor of soul

Hope is the anchor of soul .Hope is what people need and the lack of it discourages even the most beautiful souls.we make plans for next day, next month even next years .What is that what makes us believe their is a tomorrow ? It’s HOPE

Angels  ? Happily ever after ?Afterlife ? Are there angels or a forever or an afterlife ?

Like most of the things that are not either black or white and are grey ,the answer to imaginations is not yes or no .The answer is FAITH . Yes faith ,which we often loose in even in the most beautiful things at times and Even ourselves .

We all are in search of something that will make us happy . We try all that we have and blame God for all that we don’t . And this search never seems to end in our life . let us ask ourselves are we so lost in search for our “something ” that we forget to live and just breathe ?are we doing what we really want to or are we busy finding the dreams and fulling them which are society’s notion of a “good life ” or just concerned about about what the people will think . After all there may be times when deep down our heart we fear that what will people say and it’s completely okay . It’s okay to be scared as it’s okay to be brave .

But the question is what are we afraid of? About being judged ? About failing ? About not being happy ?But the reality is even when we follow the “safe path” -the one led by the society for us .We are not always happy ,we fail and we are nevertheless judged ,then what is the point of it ? In reality there is no safe path . There ‘s only one path and that is the path you choose . Life comes with no guarantees. Maybe life will not be what you thought of it to be . it may be better or may be worse. One day the sun may swallow the only earth we have. But then decide what do you want to do ? Die everyday of your life Or try to live most of the days of your life.

hope

There are moments when you feel like dying ,the pain is unbearable, one which cannot be expressed . It hollows you. You can’t really escape pain. Life doesn’t work that way . But at least make the choices about who and what is worth giving you pain , when you can .Probably the answer would be the thing or person you love the most ,not the people or things that never mattered . So take those risks , don’t be in search of that safe path or that saviour or that something . God gives us the strength to save ourselves , but we can see it when we believe in him and when we believe in ourselves , when we are willing to give things a chance and most importantly when we believe that there’s a future waiting for us that requires us to live our present to its full extent ,to not find things that will make us complete but to realise that we all are complete in our own ways ,perfectly imperfect and not running blindly to fill that incompleteness which we create and yet realising that we all are connected by some or other way. After all life is complex .

Some forevers are shorter than others . Some infinities are bigger than others . You Never know what will happen . Stop fearing and give yourself a chance , a chance to recapture yourself from all the things you’ve lost yourself into, beacuse bad souls are the good souls that got lost in the darkness . Create your own light. Who said sun is the only source of light ? Dare to see the power of a candle !

Stop finding the fault in your stars and dare to be YOU . We are often more capable then we think of . HOPE is the anchor of soul!

ARE MATCH REFEREES REALLY NECESSARY?

0

New Zealand Cricket have scrapped the Match Referees off their payrolls for their domestic Plunket Shield season. Budget cuts are the primary reason behind this unconventional stance taken by the board. But it raises a legitimate question. Are Match Referees really needed to officiate a cricket match? Or are they simply a waste of space and resources?

ARE MATCH REFEREES REALLY NECESSARY?
The referee with the respective team captains and a commentator at a toss

Match Referee is someone who is appointed by the ICC to oversee the match. He analyses the game from a third person’s point of view and documents it. He takes the pitch and conditions into account and sends in a report to the ICC every match. According to the Marylebone Cricket Committee rule book, the duty of the match referee is to “ensure that the ICC Cricket Code of Conduct is upheld during the game, to assess any breaches of the Code, and to hand out penalties for any breaches”. He administers the toss in every match. Over the course of the past year the added responsibility of the match referee is to identify bowlers with suspect actions and to report them. But thinking more rationally, the on field umpires and the third umpire are at a much better position to judge the bowling actions.

Given the fact that there are already two on field umpires, a third umpire as well as a reserve umpire, the role of a match referee is pretty much negligible in the actual match functioning. The duties he/she performs doesn’t have a direct influence on the match proceedings. The function of the Match Referee is that of a judge when it comes to miscommunication and issues on the field. This role can well and truly be done by the third or the reserve umpire as well. The decisions that the referee makes in general have a post-game effect and given the fact that the conclusions they come to are with inputs from the on field umpires, the duty they have to perform is basically downright minimum.

Given the fact that most countries excluding the Big 3 – India, Australia, and England are facing financial constraints. Leaving one individual out of the pay roll could make a genuine difference over the long run. They are paid a fixed amount on a yearly basis. The match referees have to be transported and accommodated. They are also given their regular match fees for doing work that can in turn be fulfilled by the third umpire or the reserve umpire. Most matches taking place at the domestic level in most countries don’t have a match referee. Matches played at the associate and the affiliate levels don’t have a match referee. Yet, these matches  function smoothly.

Over the course of the years, ICC is trying to incorporate technology into the game more and more. And the first Hierarchical post that is under threat is definitely the position of a match referee. Following New Zealand’s lead, I think it is high time ICC considers scrapping the post of a match referee. The Third Umpire would be the best person to fill the mediocre tasks the match referees have been performing overtime.

I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions.

Stephen Covey

In this chaotic world, it seems that no one has the time to take a step back and think as to what path they are headed. Let’s not make the mistake of joining that ignorant populace. Everybody seems in such a rush to get a degree, score a job and settle down that in this process we have lost track of the most important aspects of living. Questions such as:

  • Are we passionate about our work?
  • Are we enjoying ourselves?
  • Do we like the course that we have opted for?
  • Are we sacrificing our desire to elect for a different path?

These questions may have plagued our mind at least once in our lifetime. But we have the tendency to put these questions in the far back corner of our mind. People rarely know which career path is the right one for them. Some may get it right in the first time but for some it may take years!

career-516949_1920

But fear not, we have come up with some easy pointers which may help you choose the right path.

  1. Think of what you always wanted to become. Always remember you can achieve anything you choose to be, no matter what others say. Sky’s the limit!
  2. You can turn your hobbies into an occupation. As they say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
  1. Decide the kind of lifestyle you want in the future. Choose your career accordingly.
  2. Think of your skills and what you excel at. You can turn that into your career.
  3. Money may not be more important than passion but we still need it to survive. So consider money also as a relevant factor while choosing your career.
  4. Mental Satisfaction is an essential factor to live a peaceful and pleasant life. So think of the things that give you inner peace and try if you can make a career out of it.
  5. If you have already chosen a career for yourself and do not like it then try the above mentioned steps along with taking a few classes related to your interested career.
  6. If you are confused or hesitant to make a decision then don’t be afraid to talk to your close friends and family. They know you the best and can tell you points which you may have overlooked.

There you have it folks! Try these steps to pick a career which you will enjoy because don’t forget what Mr. Covey said in the above mentioned quote:  A man is a product of his decisions.

Why do we need feminism

0
Femainism

FEMINISM. Have you ever wondered about feminism or saw it as any other political ideology or considered it as only for women ? If you have associated with only women .Then think again beacuse  feminism fights patriarchy that affect both men and women .

Thousands of women in our country are victims of domestic violence. They are not considered to be good enough or intelligent enough to participate in the public sphere. Thousands of voices, the screams, the anger goes unheard, that is why we need feminism. Once a boy was raped by a woman ,the “intelligent” men said that he has no reason to be disturbed, he must have enjoyed it rather. The feminists said NO, its wrong and supported the boy. That’s why we need feminism. Women are sexually abused and then our society rather then supporting them to get justice that is their right, brings about faults in that women encouraging rape culture. Questions, counter questions and counter counter questions.
That woman gets more wounded and,a part of her dies. She loses hope. Her voice goes unheard. That’s why we need feminism.
In the so called sophisticated urban families Which in reality are not sophisticated enough to respect the women of their own family is visible enough in the fact how the male members often try to suppress the women by forcing them to stay confined in the houses and prevent them from doing a job. If some women are able to do a job and do it better then the male ego tries to find fault in the women though ways like lack of responsibility as a mother or a daughter in law. women often tend to find their own faults in the situation, try to do what that man wants them to do. They completely change their identity sometimes. In a country where women are not allowed to be themselves, where they are constantly told what to do –what to eat, wear, or what to be or what or think, is a country that needs feminism. In a country where men are supposed fit in the “macho” image

or be the protectors ,or behave in a certain way they become victims of patriarchy . It’s patriarchy that encorages men to behave in a certain way even if many of them deep down their heart may not agree with it . Men have equal right to express their emotions , that’s why we need feminism.
Feminism is not anti-male, It believes in equality of men and women but equality does not mean sameness . There is  emphasis on protection of women’s rights as apart of belief that women are equal humans beacuse it has been the women who have been oppressed for centuries .Feminists understand that women are more than cooking and household chores, they do not have to listen to the patriarchal morons because its not their society, its our society as well. Before someone else’s wife, mother, or daughter, we are women and humans. We have an identity of our own. We are strong, a lot more stronger than the men know us. We have no reason to be subjugated or victimized and every reason to explore the world equally and find our identity and be what each of us wants to be. That’s why we need feminism.

True Love never dies

2
digital art

digital-art-398342_1280It is a very common phrase that we hear in our day to day routine lives.
‘True Love never dies’. But are we even aware that what exactly is true love. Sometimes we address infatuation or attraction as mere true love and hurt ourselves. We need to find the difference between attraction and love.

“Love”. All of us have different definitions for love and each one of us admire this feeling once in his/her life. It can exist in various forms. It is shapeless and endless. Love is not just attraction but more than that. Love includes the emotional aspect of every individual. Love brings up the understanding between two or more people who share the feelings. Love is about sharing and forgiving. When we are in love, we accept the person with his/ her disabilities and weaknesses. Love is not about finding perfection. Love is all about grabbing the moments and making them perfect.

It can happen at even the least predicted time. We never know when we can fall in love and with whom it is. It is something that happens on its own.

“True Love” is regarded to be the most purest form of love. A situation when both persons are so committed to each other that there exists very few chances of weakening of the bond. Trust leads the way in this kind of love.
It is a situation when your love for a person becomes unconditional.

A love where there are no doubts in your mind and you both trust each other completely.

The bond of true love is inevitable and difficult to explain. It can be understood completely by those who feel such situation. We can also feel this in movies. In movies also, we have seen that the third person might be successful to some extent in creating problems between the two lovers. But the third person has no chances to break their bond. If their love is true, they will anyhow find a way to be together forever. if their love is true, there can be no wall between their level of trusts.

True love never dies because when two are deeply in love with each other, they completely understand each other. They have accepted each other with the flaws. Not even a high speed storm can break their bond.

It never dies. It only grows as the year passes. True love exists even after you end up with the relationship. We have already seen this in the movie ‘Ashiquie 2’. The bond they both share could be felt while watching the movie. True love never dies. What it actually does, it learns to love from the distance. Romeo-Juliet, Heer-Ranjha are the couples who give lovers motivation to fight for their love.

True love never dies. It always creates more out of it.

It might appear hypothetical to some. But this is a fact. You may ignore this once. But, I guarantee at some point of life, you would relate to this fact and realize that actually “TRUE LOVE NEVER DIES, IT ONLY GROWS”.

Remember if someone really loves you or if you really love someone. No matter how many people pass by you, The feeling you have will stay, will never change. Why? Because a REAL LOVER can’t be stolen.

So keep believing. Miracles do happen. Maybe someday you find your true love and experience the same.
Good Luck!

Can you love someone who is not yours?

child father

The idea of fatherhood unleashed a swirl of emotions in me. I found it frightening, daunting, and exhilarating all at the same time. I wondered what sort of a father would I make. I wanted to be a father like Baba was to me. I wanted to be a good father to my child and not just a disappointment. I often envisaged Sana, my wife, our baby and me together. Sana and me running after the baby as he went about scampering in the house. See him scattering everything as he walks by, turning the house upside down and the innocent smile on his face as we get hold of him after long hours of endeavor.

yeah

Initially, I used to wonder if Sana thought about our baby as much as I did. Then one morning I woke up to her knitting socks for the baby. It became conspicuous that Sana was way more excited about our baby than I was. The favorite part of the day was when Sana placed her hand slowly on her belly and whispered words to it. I became accustomed to her singing lullabies at night, hoping that the baby in the belly would enjoy the way it sounds. The thought of our baby was the new source of happiness in our house.

Then one day something happened that none of us anticipated. Sana fell from the stairs and that took the happiness away from us, it took our baby away from us. We stood there aghast as the doctor informed that the injuries were the cause that Sana won’t be able to be a mother ever again. I stood there, quivering, too scared to look at how Sana reacted to the news. I could hear her panting. She uttered something between a gasp and a shriek and that was the last time I heard any sound coming from her mouth.

In the months that followed, Sana became quiet. She avoided any conversation with me and we never looked each other in the eye. I would find her staring at the socks she knitted for the baby followed by the tears running down her cheeks. I couldn’t garner the courage to speak to her. I couldn’t figure this out on my own. Then one day, Sana initiated a talk on the breakfast table. I knew that she wanted to say something but quietly, I swallowed the thought and the food. Sana told me that she wanted to adopt a baby.

yup

The word adoption rang in my ears. I thought about the sayings regarding adoption that prevailed in the society. About how important blood was and about how a father cannot love an adopted child as much as his real child. I wondered if I would be a good father to the adopted child. I dismissed these thoughts and looked at Sana with affirmation in my eyes. I saw her smiling and in that moment, I realized that there was no not loving him. He wouldn’t be an adopted child but my child. Our child. I would love him more than I would have loved a real child because he brought back happiness in our house. He brought back my Sana’s smile.

THE INDIAN CONTINGENT AT THE RIO OLYMPICS

Champions from India in 2012 London Olympics

The place where legends are created, stars become superstars, records are broken, dreams are shattered and the world takes notice of the underdogs. India, over he years perhaps have not put up show that corresponds to the potential that 125 crore people possess. But, improvements have been made in the recent Olympics. India doubled its medals tally from 2008 at the 2012 edition. India’s hope at the 2016 summer Olympics heavily banks on their shuttlers, shooters and grapplers.

India is sending its largest ever Badminton contingent with 7 shuttlers. Former world no.1 Saina Nehwal and young P.V. Sindhu who is in a red hot form are India’s biggest hope for the yellow metal. Commonwealth gold medal winning pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Jwala Gutta are always medal contenders on a sunny day. Kidambi Srikanth who won the China open defeating the legend Lin Dan is India’s medal hope in the men’s event and much will be expected of him considering his recent form.

Indians always expect medals from their shooters ever since Rajvardhan Singh Rathode won the Silver medal in 2004. India has a cumulative haul of 1 Gold and 2 Bronze medals in the previous 2 editions. This time too the expectations are sky high. 28 year old army shooter Jitu Rai has been in an incredible run of form leading up to the Olympics having qualified for the finals of the ISSF world cup for 5 consecutive times. He has also reached the podium on a number of times with his pistol. His pet event is the 50m pistol. He also competes in the 10m air pistol event. Heena Sidhu won a gold in the 2013 ISSF World Cup and has a Commonwealth title to her name. She will take part in the 10m air pistol event at the Olympics. Seasoned campaigners Abhinav Bindra and Gagan Narang are also in fray with the rifles. Mairaj Ahmed Khan won a skeet silver at the World cup in Rio which was also a test event for the Olympics.

Despite the controversy revolving Sushil Kumar and Narsingh Yadav for the chance to take part in the 74kg category at the Olympics, Indians have a great chance to improve upon their 2012 show in wrestling. 2012 Bronze medalist. Yogeshwar Dutt has won gold in every event he has taken part in the 65kg Category. Indians have booked 8 quota places at the Olympics in all three events – Freestyle, Greco-Roman and female wrestling.

Former World No.1 Deepika Kumari will lead the India’s team at the recurve archery event. Bombayla Devi and Laxmirani Majhi are the other two members of the team. The players underwent three and a half months of rigorous training and trials before the Archery association selected the team. They will take part in the individual as well as the team event. The men have booked one individual quota place and are vying for more at the Archery World cup later this year.

Both the Men’s and women’s hockey teams have made the cut for the Olympics. The Men’s team led by Sardar Singh have done well after their disappointing show in London 4 years back. If things go well, they can come back with a medal. The eves hope for a medal is a long shot given that their recent form is poor. They were given a 7-0 whitewash during their Great Britain tour earlier this year.

In total more than 80 members have qualified for the Olympics including the hockey teams. Many more are giving their best and trying to qualify for Olympics with last ditch efforts. India is hopeful of improving its medals tally from the previous editions. For that, it would require the Olympians to step up to the task at hand and grab the opportunity with all they have got.

Peace And Chaos

Living in an orderly world we people believe the lies around us and thus we are entrapped inside this infinite loop called Perfect World. We see the flaws in this orderly living but still we continue according to the Plan.
Order is the Way to live what we say THE PERFECT LIFE. But is it necessary to follow a certain code? Why there is a need to follow some rules that limit our perception, why to pre-decide our next action on the basis of some code that may or may not be according to our nature. But still we go on following the code, living our dream THE PERFECT LIFE.
But it seems pretty weird that we actually want to live that way, isn’t it?
Actually we really don’t feel anything weird in living that way because it’s the way we are raised, the way we are taught, it becomes our nature to long for perfection in life. The branded clothes, the furniture, there is a long list of such unnecessary equipment that we do not actually require but we still end up owning them just to make sure that we get our share of attention in this otherwise uninterested world. Now it raises a new question, why we need attention? Why we long for the admiration? Why not we just do what we are supposed to do without giving a thought about what other people think? But sometimes this attention and admiration works as a fuel which keep us in the loop.
There is a very curious thing about living by some codes that we sometimes (or most of the times) end up doing things that we do not actually want to do in the first place.
We do things that are meaningless to us, we want appreciation for that, the society makes sure that we get our share of motivation and admiration, so that we do not break the order and hence this loop continues.
But it’s not always the case , exceptions are everywhere.

“If you don’t like the rules, follow them, reach the zenith and change them.”
There always been some personalities who change the codes of this orderly society by reaching the very top of this well organised tree.
How did they accomplish this? Well to understand ‘How’, we must first know ‘Why’ and ‘What’?
Order always provide us with almost all the necessities but sometimes it puts a restriction over our free will. That’s when rebellions rise. Free will is our uttermost resource for self-gratification. Wars have been fought to achieve freedom. Freedom to do things we want to do .But still after so many wars deep down all of us are nursing children of chaos inside us that will be born when this order is no longer required.

Emotions can be tricky, sometimes they make us take decisions that we do not opt for under normal circumstances. But the decisions we take under the influence of our emotions are the ones we never regret.

ya

Thoughts. Thoughts visited him of last night’s love making, of last week’s candle night dinner, of that pleasant hug, of that rainy day spent together sipping hot coffee. He remembered everything. Her voice. Her way of nagging him for not keeping his shoes back in the rack, for creating a mess in the house.

yo

He re-called her last birthday. It was 29th June. He had planned a surprise for her. The day before he escaped to his friend’s house for a party and told her that he was going to stay there for the night. Unknown to his plan, she got all furious. He heard her groaning as he called her to inform her about his plans with his friends. Things were going just like he planned. The clock struck 12 and he rang the bell. She opened the door wondering who could it be at this hour, ringing the bell and disturbing her sleep. She opened the door and there he was, standing at the door with flowers in his hands. He entered home and wished her happy birthday and planted a kiss on her cheeks. He can never forget the priceless smile on her face. He lovingly puts his hand on her face and admires her beauty. He looks into her eyes and her smiling, innocent face. He feels a wave of love running in his body and he just wants to hold her in his arms and never let her go.

But, the call of duty makes him take a leave from her. The backdrop fills with shrieks and cries. His soldier friends are shouting and asking all of them to huddle together and take their positions as the enemies were approaching them. He had few minutes before he goes out, takes up his arms and save his nation, his mulk.

yeah

A tear trickles down his cheek as he slides his hand on her photograph, uncertain whether he will be able to see her again or not. With these thoughts, he slides the photograph in the bag and with it the memories of her. He took up his arms and went out to fight. He was no longer a husband, just a soldier on duty.
