Why You Should not Give up on Your Dream!!

2

Daniel is a highly ambitious, creative, qualified, well-settled man. His parents wanted him to be a banking personnel and being an obedient and loving son that he is, he became a banking personnel. He has a steady, well-paying job, a well-furnished apartment and close friends. He is happy with his life.

Yet, somehow, he always has this feeling of emptiness in him. This unfulfilled, cherished dream. Since he had attended an art gallery in his school at standard 8, he had this dream of being an artist. At that point, with next to no responsibilities, his dream was very achievable. So he made some paintings. Paintings of people showing various emotions. Paintings that no one, except his close friends, knew about. Paintings that were not destined for the world to see. Paintings that meant the whole world to him.

Some years into his working as a banker, Daniel faced an emotional crisis. He was unhappy with the way his life was turning about. He didn’t feel like socializing with friends. He didn’t even want to talk to anyone. One of his friends at that point, suggested to try some activity that relaxed him. Acting on the advice, he took a long leave from his work and took out his painting gear for the first time in years. That is when he started his painting sessions. At first his brush felt foreign in his hands. His art was quite depressing at the beginning. Gradually, with each stroke of the brush, he felt lighter. His thoughts became clear and positive, as opposed to the jumbled mess that used to be in his head. He felt relaxed and inspired at the same time.

Now Daniel is a full-time painter. His works are much acclaimed for. His life became stress-free and full of satisfaction.
Whenever he sees a person struggling with their dreams, he gives them these timeless advice:

1. It always gets better:

No matter how hard it seems, it gets better. The struggle you face right now is temporary and it will pass with time.

2. Your quitting may cause more damage:

There comes a time in life when you feel holding on to your dream becomes very difficult and giving up seems easy. It may be so but then you will have to live on with your life making much more difficult choices, knowing that you let go of your dreams instead of working hard to achieve them.

3. Quitting will only make you weaker:

Quitting your dream seems easy and quick but it will also make you weak. When you cease to try, you cannot learn from the experience and grow.

4. You are a lot stronger than you know:

Following on the above point, you are much stronger than you believe yourself to be. Mould your life in such a way that you can learn more and develop yourself. Facing your fears will make you a stronger individual.

5. Your dream is only so far away:

Many have given up their dreams just when the were on the cusp of reaching it. With just a little more effort and determination, you can achieve what you wish for.

6. The more opposition you face, the greater your achievement will be:

The exposure you get while on the journey to success is directly proportional to the enormity of your success. So don’t lose hope when the struggle seems endless, your success will be that much greater.

7. It is always worth fighting for:

Your dreams stands for your happiness and you deserve to be happy. You are the only person who can make it happen. So, hang on to it.

8. Perseverance always pays off:

Continuous and focused efforts reaps their benefits undoubtedly. It is difficult, yes, but the results are so incredibly satisfying.

9. Fighting against the odds is exhilarating:

Quite often, when we do something outside the box, there is a certain thrill to it. Knowing that you have done what many fear to do, is undoubtedly freeing.

10. The feeling of accomplishment surpasses all the hard times:

When you have gone through all the trying situations and you finally make your dream come true, you feel such bliss. The trials and troubles you faced will seem worth the result. The sweet taste of success is unlike any other.

These are some words of advise to the struggling souls out there. Now, Daniel is a fictional character, but the above advise are 100% true.
So, give your dreams a shot! You won’t regret it!!

Life is What We Make of It

0

Cruising down the beach with wind through the hair, an ice cream on a summer day or even a coffee by the windowsill in the rain, reading quotes like ‘Life is What We Make of It’. All of these make life look so young and easy. As if, no problem would ever be associated with it. But, just when we sit loose and try to flex, ‘life’ hits us with what it really is.

We face many problems in the everyday life, ranging from who has the prettiest clothes or who works out more? Wait…what! Do you think these are not serious issues? Well, needless to say, you should ask the ones who face them (pity!). On the other hand, there are people who don’t have clean water to drink or even a shelter above them, but then again, for us, clothes and gym are far more important.

We’re not willing to serve even a dime to charity, but when it comes to latest brands and gadgets, the money becomes endless! No, I’m not saying we should donate all that we earn. All I mean to say is that nothing in this cosmos compares to the affection and love we can offer to the underprivileged. For them the best we can do is treat them equal. Even though, many do say they don’t consider the underprivileged lower to them but at the end of the day, you and me, both, know the truth. Half of the times they get left behind because of the shredded self-esteem. We need to help them to build their confidence back before we can help them to earn.

The Creator never made any human different, we did so. If we had the guts to make it, we sure as hell have the courage to break it too. The walls need to be broken. We need to get out of our luxurious bubbles we live in and instead put a pinch of a reality check in our ‘lives’.

This is a fantasy romance drama starring Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun, Lee Dong Wook, Yoo In Na which revolves around an immortal goblin, an amnesiac grim reaper, a girl who can see ghosts and goblin’s reincarnated sister. Goblin is a thoughtfully crafted masterpiece that takes youon a roller coaster ride of emotions and pushes you to continuously think and immerse yourself in it with an unexpected ending. Itis epic and even raised the bar of Kdramas. Its acting, photography, cinematography and osts (official sound tracks) are mind blowing. Go for it!

It is a fantasy crime drama (starring Lee Je-hoon, Kim Hye-soo and Cho Jin-woong) about a group of detectives who are able to communicate with a detective in the past using an old two way radio to solve crimes. The characters are extremely appealing with a very interesting overarching plot that will make you glued to the drama. This drama is highly recommended and will not disappoint you at all.

  1. WEIGHT LIFTING FAIRY KIM BOK JOO

This is a light hearted romantic comedy( starring Lee Sung-kyung  and Nam Joo-hyuk ) about the ups and down of college life (career, emotions, love life, friendship etc). The story revolves around the athletes especially a weightlifter Kim Bok Joo on a college campus trying to achieve her dreams and experiencing first love as a young woman.  The drama has some nice humor with lots of heartwarming moments and very relatable with our daily life. 1. DESCENDANTS OF THE SUN

Here comes the “song song” couple (Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo). This year their acting has won the hearts all over the world. Though this military romance drama (which revolves around the love story of captain of the south Korean special forces unit and a cardiothoracic specialist) do not have a gripping plot but the acting of the popular actors and supporting actors have a high chance to make you fall head over heels for it. Though the sound track is good but I feel the characters could have been given more depth so that the viewers are more intrigued towards it. If you are a huge fan of Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo then watch it!

  1. ROMANTIC DOCTOR, TEACHER KIM

This is a good, warm and comforting family drama and you will never regret to spend your time on its 54 episodes. This is a story about a widower who has two children and a single mother who was betrayed by her husband three years ago and has three children. This is very realistic and   there’s also an enduring positivity in many characters that I found appealing and quite inspirational. It inspires us to live life more cheerfully and tenaciously and to laugh at life more easily.

  1. OH MY GEUM-BI

If your heart can handle gut-wrenching, sad melodramas then go for this one. This is a story of a con-man and his daughter who suffers from Niemann–Pick disease. The best part was that they already knew that she would die but the courage and will power shown by them gives a lesson that “No matter what happens try till the last moment and you may never know miracles do happen”. This is really beautiful, amazing and heart touching and the child actor gave her best. This one is highly recommended!

A story about a cardiothoracic surgeon and the main character of a webtoon wrote by her father and how she is romantically involved with him when she is teleported to his world i.e. the webtoon. Apart from Show’s bold storytelling, the execution of the two worlds and management of the relationship and transitions between the two worlds is done so skillfully. Though some episodes may be dragging but this was daring and different.

  1. THE LEGEND OF THE BLUE SEA

Sorry Jun Ji-hyun and Lee Min-ho fans, but this drama got high ratings only because of the actors popularity. This is a fantasy romance melodrama which revolves around the life of a mermaid and a con man and their past life (in Joseon era). The drama started off as an interesting story – the con man’s tricks, intrigues, crimes, getting-aways etc., adding a lot of tempo and suspense. How to Boost Confidence

0

Confidence and self-esteem are not something magical or congenital, its either you got it or you don’t. It’s something that can be developed. Confidence is not something which money can buy and you can show it off to everybody proudly, it’s something you develop with time.

Here are 5 ways to boost your self-confidence:

Eliminate negative people:

There are those negative monsters in everyone’s life who directly impact your confidence as they are more contagious than crabs. The people who give loads of negativity when they are around and your mind shouts at them like just get away from me and never show your face again but but but, it’s not like when you say get away, they will disappear, it’s not that easy, although I hope it would, for this I’ll suggest, you go away, it might be possible that you have to change your environment, which will initially suck but will be beneficial to you in the long run, which isn’t a big deal when it comes to your confidence.

Improve yourself daily:

Work on yourself daily, yes with this I mean every single day. Be it a walk, sit-ups, pushups, yoga, doing something for your skin, your hair, anything, just grooms yourself each day. Taking out 10 minutes from your busy schedule every day for self-betterment is not at all a difficult task. When you will do something good for yourself and for your body you will automatically feel confident.

Compliment others:

How does it feel when someone compliments you? You feel amazing and automatically you like that person more, exactly same happens when you compliments others they would start liking you which will improve your people skills and as a result, you will feel confident.

Help somebody every day:

It feels really good when you help someone, not for the sake of money or because others say it, it’s because you feel good by helping others. That incredible feeling is out of the world and accelerates your self-esteem and boosts your confidence.

Feed your brain:

As food is to the stomach, knowledge is to the brain. So feed your brain with knowledge every day. Although there are many people who don’t love reading but playing brain games, solving riddles, watching educational videos or news headlines always helps. It will not only increase your knowledge but will make you creative as well. So give your brain a quick bite of knowledge every single day which will boost your confidence and make you stand out of the crowd.

10 Horrid Slums Found in Well-off Places

0

Slums are not confined to under-developed or poor countries only. There are slums teeming with awfully poor people, even in the most developed nations of the world. Don’t believe me? Let’s take a quick look into 10 of the most horrid slums found in comparatively well-off places:

  1. The Tent Cities of Seattle, Washington

Tent cities are now a permanent fixture in Seattle especially in an area called “Nickelsville”.  In a city like Washington you all would be surprised hear about this slum area but the fact is very much true. Tent cities spring up all over from time to time, but in Seattle around 275 people call these makeshift communities their home. Moreover hundred more “camp out” each night only to pull up their stakes and disappear the next morning. Whether permanent or temporary, all of the residents are poor and most are unskilled, with little in the way of job prospects or hope of a better life.

  1. Vancouver, British Columbia’s Downtown Eastside

Vancouver is one of the best beautiful cities in the world which is known for its beautiful architecture and scenic views. Just east of Main Street, one can witness the dreadful scene where lots of street dwellers reside. The downtown eastside is the poorest urban postal code in all of Canada. It’s an area where thousands of drug addicts, many of whom are HIV-positive reside. Theft, prostitution, murder, and mental illness plague the district, and the homeless and disenfranchised can be found everywhere within the blighted area. It’s a dark-spot in a beautiful place like Vancouver.

  1. Colonias in Texas

The Colonias are found in Texas and in the American Southwest. These are Hispanic people and it is believed that some of these people have come from Mexico to America seeking better life and living conditions. They reside in shantytowns with no real infrastructure and they are deprived of basic amenities like proper drinking water and electricity facilities. In a country like America finding such a community might shock everyone but it’s a real fact.
