Wishes, wishes and more wishes to be fulfilled.

Though a country of only 74.04% literacy rates, many Indians aspire to go abroad for a future settlement. But for many, this dream is never fulfilled because of passport issues. ‘Passport Baba’ has a solution to this problem.

Situated in the corner of the town of Jamshedpur, this 140 year old ‘Dargah’ is said to have fulfilled many wishes. People travel from all over the world or send a copy of their passport to get their visas cleared. Though many people do not believe in such super-natural forces, but this place has seen a large number of wishes getting fulfilled.

I recently visited this place with great reluctance. The great number of tombs present in the pathway gives it an eerie look. Sitting at the entrance of the mosque is Peer Mohammed, who said to have constructed it single-handedly. It is said, about 140 years back, Hazrat Miskin Shah Baba, a fakir, travelled all the way from Lahore to Jamshedpur. This was at a time when the town of Jamshedpur was not even formed. It was all jungle amidst the Dalma Range. He died here and his tomb stands between two huge banyan trees. These two trees act as the base where people pin up their wishes. Though most famous for catalysing the receiving of visas, today it is said to fulfill every wish from love stories to exam related issues and even cure illness.

Located behind Jamshedpur Public School in New Baridih area, this is one of the least known places to the town. Though a world famous site, very little is known by the people of the town about it.  My survey showed that only 15% of the Jamshedpur population knows about the Dargah. Honestly, when I first heard about it from my neighbour, I was quite cynical about the concept.  The initial atmosphere too made me freak out. But once I entered the Dargah, a chat with Peer Mohammed cleared my mind of all the pre-conceived notions.  He’s been building the Dargah mostly with his savings and the little donations that he receives from visitors. It’s a selfless service he has embarked upon towards Miskin Baba.

Not only can people come to this place to pin their wishes to the banyans, but can also courier a written copy of their wish. It will be pinned up by Peer Mohammed. Even though a lesser known site, the calm and pleasant atmosphere helps soothe the mind. A faith to fulfil wishes, the warm welcome of Peer Mohammed and the history of Passport Baba keeps attracting new visitors from all over the world.

Autonomous Cars in INDIA

AUTOMATIC CAR

Indian roads with driverless and autonomous cars , less traffic jams , proper coordination on roads , less cases of road rage and less accidents(this is subjective) come to our minds but can this idea become a reality in near future.

Driver – less cars seem fantasy in India now and according to many experts it cannot be possible even in coming 2 decades, the possible reasons be the infrastructure.In India, we do not have infrastructure for normal cars, separate lanes for autonomous cars is not even possible. Moreover, market building requires time, India is a home to 400 road accidents deaths daily , and believing in driver-less cars requires courage and valour by Indians . I remember the scene from critically acclaimed tv series by H.BO SILLICON VALLEY when Jared was kidnapped by a self-driven car and was taken to a remote place. It was hilarious and scary as the same time.

AUTOMATIC CAR

Inspite of the impediments , in march,2016, Dr Roshy John developed a self-driving Tata Nano. Roshy who heads Robotics and Cognitive Systems at Tata Consultancy Services in Kerala and was inspired to build his autonomous Tata Nano five years ago when he booked a taxi at the airport to go home but found the taxi driver more exhausted than him. This is really inspiring but there is still long way to go . GOOGLE,Tesla, APPLE , Diamler are testing their autonomous cars from a time now. Legislation has been passed in four U.S. states and Washington, D.C. allowing driverless GOOGLE cars.

Tesla has introduced autopilot feature in beta version in their model S but the recent death in U.S.A. and car accident in china when the autopilot mode was on in the car pose a serious threat but the company stated the feature was used improperly and its clearly stated that you cant take your hands off the steering wheel even in autopilot mode. Recently , a customer gave full control to its tesla auto pilot and was comfortably reading newspaper in his car . All of a sudden the a white coloured truck came in front of tesla and auto pilot couldn’t detect that ! the car ran into that truck !! Company later stated that no one should be fully assured over auto pilot as it is under testing phase only.

India’s market is rigid in terms of accepting technological change, many smart features have been introduced in the cars but their acceptance rate is really low because of mainly cost factors. Moreover, driver-less cars if to manufacture in India, seeing the recent promotion of manufacturing in INDIA, require pool of great thinkers, economists, scientists, resources and of-course money and research &development on large scale and the legal framework of India is so intricate and ease of doing business is so pathetic that its just a fantasy now.

On his first official visit to India,chief information officer of Daimler, Jan Brecht,in charge of IT innovation at the world’s biggest commercial vehicle manufacturer and the parent of Mercedes-Benz said in an interview with Hindu that running autonomous vehicles in India would be a challenge and an ultimate test and India is one of the toughest markets for this. The poor quality of roads , highly congested and over populated atmosphere , and a government that pays least attention to traffic safety , autonomous cars have very feeble hope for now ! Tesla testing phase is facing accidents and mishappenings even in well developed countries , so setting there foots in India wont be a easy task at all ! But yes , looking at the wide market of India , looking at our willingness to accept to new things will be tempting for these car companies to come and have there setups in india.
So we should not loose hope.

Tamasha, where Ved meets his real self.

We all have been grown up watching movies of different genre and we also have somewhere lived in those stories. We relate ourselves to those fictional stories and start living in those moments because it’s somewhere makes u to dwell in your past experiences.

Tamasha is one of those movies which was not appreciated by critics much but some people who are little different from others in their concepts of life and their perspectives are somewhat out of the track could have related themselves with this story.
How the names of the protagonist were so symbolic, Ved and Tara(star) where Tara shows the right path to Ved like a star indicates a right path when one goes out of his track, as when he putts off the real face of himself aside and putts on the fake face which was bounded by social norms. Tara was the one who understands him deeply because she has met with his self and the other. Initially he was himself and enjoying his self when he first met Tara at Corsica. At that point of time Tara realize that this is the way of living and enjoying the life to the fullest.

At Corsica they both undisclosed their real identities and introduce their selves as the characters of other’s story. They live in the story of someone’s else story. Ved always wanted to become a story teller instead of engineer, which was imposed by his father. But he was bought up by listening to those stories from a story teller near his place at Shimla. From that tender age he starts living in stories of others and bring out his own story out of it. Engineering made him other from his self. Every single day at engineering college bites him like an ant and makes him hollow from inside.

At Corsica, Ved created his own imaginary story and start living in it. When Tara meets him, he pulled Tara also inside his story and they both were happy being in other’s world, which is different from theirs and where they can enjoy to the fullest without revealing their original identities but one day Tara
has to leave that place and go back to her actual world.

After Corsica, Tara met Ved in Delhi , where he lives alone and work in a corporate company and he was totally devoid of his self. It seems like that his self has actually lost somewhere and he was trying to find out his self. Some how he became the other of himself because now he was behaving and acting totally different from what he was initially. He restrained himself from living in someone’s else story and started living in his monotonous real life story. One day when Tara met him again and realized this drastic change in him she felt dejected. She observes each and every bit of his changed personality and rejects his proposal by saying that ‘She loved his self not his other’ and the one whom he met at Corsica and he hiding his self, answers in his other’s voice that

‘he’s the same person she met at Corsica’.
Tara helped him in tracing his actual path by staying with him being his strength. Ved has made himself so bounded by the societal norms and conditions and living a life of a robot, who actually has no emotions, desires, longings, passion. He became deaf to his desires and passion of becoming a story teller. He shuts all the windows of his heart through which beams of his self could reach.

One day , the said words of Tara starts jumbling in his mind, which says follow your self which keeps you lost in your imaginary world. At that point of time he realizes that from now he would follow his passion and meet his self again by leaving behind his other. His family who always wants him to become an engineer not a story teller. Ved when opens his heart in front of his family, at first they rebuke but then they realized and persuaded him to fulfill his passion.

Ved, at the end meets his real self and completes his own story of becoming a story teller and again re-living in those stories. He lives for living in those stories which were connected to him from his tender age. Every child is best in his own way, so always supports him in fulling his desires and don’t imposed anything on them.

Ved live as a free bird, who got wings to fly in his own world, the world full of stories and imagination.
Follow your heart, because it knows things which your mind can’t explain.

Augmented Reality (AR) has been taking over lives – quite literally. Think Pokémon Go and Back to The Future 2! Augmented reality blurs the lines between the real and virtual worlds by enhancing what we feel, see, hear and even smell. AR adds graphics, sounds and haptic (touch) feedback to the real world as it exists, thereby enhancing our experience and changing the way we see the world. In Back to The Future II, we saw Marty Mc Fly being scared out of his wits by an AR Jaws 17 trailer. Pokémon Go makes use of your smartphone’s camera to show you the Pokémon that are present in your vicinity.

AR has applications not merely in just movie fantasies or video games – it is constantly evolving and has applications in various fields like education, literature, navigation, architecture, automobiles and even military. Some of the familiar AR products include Google Glass and Sony Smart Eye Glass, which like many other hi-tech gadgets of the day, uses Internet of Things for their operation. In the above case, a privately held company called the Crowd Optic Inc., holds the patented solution for these wearable marvels. Crowd Optic is best known for their mobile technology that gathers and analyzes data from smartphone cameras, based on where they are pointed, to identify areas of high interest. Numerous technologies are being developed to bring AR into Virtual Retinal Displays and contact lenses.

Augmented Reality

AR in the automobile industry has immense potential and its use is growing day by day. AR is used almost in all stages, right from assembly to sales and even repair and service. With just a smartphone or a tab, the entire process from the building of the automobile to the sales is streamlined and efficient. AR can also help people service their own cars or bikes without any other help, thanks to evolving technology. Don’t know where the carburetor is? No problem! Just whip out your smartphone or tab and it will guide you through the repair procedure.

Various automotive industry giants use AR as part of their building process. Ford Motor Company uses virtual reality to design cars before it makes a physical prototype. In Ford’s Immersion Lab, designers can use an Oculus Rift to walk around the car and even sit inside of it to get an early idea of what the customer experience would be. Lexus even created a driving simulator in 2014. BMW service engineers wear head-mounted displays whilst working on cars and augmented reality projections instruct them how to proceed and what tools to use. German auto-maker Volkswagen recently launched an app for its luxury brand Audi that allows consumers to experience this AR-based test drive, without actually being close to the automobile. In the same vein, the bulky owner’s manual of the Audi A3 has been replaced with an enhanced, interactive AR app that familiarizes the user with the interior of the car, just by pointing the user’s mobile device camera at different parts.

As of October 2015, the auto industry held its first conference focusing specifically on the use of augmented reality in auto making, which covered how AR can be used across the board from production to sales.

Today, car manufacturers are looking to enhance safety and personalize and augment the driving experience by building AR technology into newer car models.

AR-based ‘Heads-up Displays’ (HUDs)

AR-based ‘Heads-up Displays’ (HUDs) are transforming automobile windscreens into large computer screens, non-intrusively displaying travel information—navigation indications, vehicle speed, weather information, live traffic data, and even collision warnings—directly in the driver’s line of vision.

Further, to make the drive more engaging, in-car AR systems highlight popular landmarks, restaurants, and shops as one drives past them. The driver’s social media feeds are also displayed in a manner that is least distracting.

To enhance safety, car makers developing AR systems also lean towards integrating gesture and voice recognition—for example, an incoming caller’s face pops up on the windscreen allowing drivers to accept or reject calls with a swipe of their hand or a voice command, without reaching for their mobile phones.

Certain augmented reality concepts will, soon, even allow drivers to “see through” vehicles in front of them by allowing vehicles to wirelessly connect with each other. This AR system, once further developed, can be especially effective in situations when a smaller car needs to overtake a larger vehicle on narrow roads.

While all of these concepts and applications sound amazing, they are not without drawbacks. AR relies heavily upon the internet and is very closely connected to a concept called Internet of Things (IoT). This means that AR does not function very well in places with poor connectivity or in adverse weather conditions. It also means that there are very less chances of it becoming and offline application too.

WWE THE VIPER VS. THE BEAST

One is the Apex Predator, the other is The Beast. One is the Third Generation Superstar, the other is WWE Champion, UFC Champion and NCAA world heavyweight champion. And this summer, the heat will rise when ” The Viper” Randy Orton takes on “The Beast” Brock Lesnar in Summerslam.

The match is surely gonna be a ” way-too-heated-dual”. Even online polls are carried out on who will have the final word when these two superstars collide in Summerslam. Randy Orton has just returned to WWE after he injured his shoulder in November last year. This will be his first match since his return. Brock Lesnar, on the other hand, has recently defeated Mark Hunt in UFC 210 and is riding high on his success.

The last time these two superstars faced each other in the ring was in 2002 when both were still rookies and had made an impact on WWE. Lesnar defeated Orton when he was still the WWE champion. Almost 15 years later, now, Randy Orton is 12 time WWE champion while Lesnar, has 3 different championship tags on his name and is a well know name in Sports and Entertainment.

Lesnar has a reputation when it comes to big events like Wrestlemania where he ended Undertaker’s winning streak. Also, he beat Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose last year in a triple threat match last year.
Orton, is seeing this match as a ” lucky draw” to set himself up as WWE’s ” Apex Predator” again.

Randy Orton was on RAW this Monday. It was unexpected for the viewers when he took the mic and marched in the ring. Orton made it clear that “he deeply respect The Beast for his strength and power”, but made it clear that Lesnar has ” survived ” as he hasn’t faced The Viper yet.

Brock, in an official interview with WWE.com said that The Viper has proved his metal by defeating some big guns of WWE, but, mentioned that his “street smart tricks” is of no match to The Beast’s brutality and force. The flame got more fire during the latest WWE pickup event where RAW CEO Stephanie Macmahon picked up Brock Lesnar and SmackDown CEO Shane MacMahon choose Randy Orton claiming Orton to be the ” better choice “.

But its not just records and strength that woes the fans. It is their attitude and mental strength which keeps the two iconic superstars miles away from each other. Brock is said to be aggressive, brutal,no-hold-bars fighter. Orton, on the other side, has dark,sinister, tactical brain and its his strategies and remorse aggression that make him lethally invaluable against his opponents. Coming out openly in RAW and mocking Lesnar was a well planned strategy to irritate Lesnar which provoked him to attack openly on Orton in Smackdown Live.

And not just the fans, but the officials too are curious for the event. It is rumoured that WWE don’t want to take any chances when these two surperstars face each other and will only allow Orton to go in the ring when he is 100% fit to fight. So, Brooklyn is all set and its just a matter of time now when we know whether its going to be THE RKO or the Supplex City.

During a busy morning, it’s easy to let breakfast fall low in your list of priorities, but taking just a few minutes to eat anything can really make a difference, though you are not growing anymore, but your body is constantly furnishing itself, replenishing your skin, hair and nails, replacing old tissues with new, and generally keeping your body in the best shape possible. Breakfast provides the body, brain and soul a boost after staying hungry all night. Break-fast as the name suggests, is meant to break the fast that we keep all night. It is like starting a car with no fuel.
Ever wondered, how does our body manage all this? With the nutrients we take through our food. Breakfast is especially important because, in the morning our body prepares and refreshes itself for the new day. Also, after a long night’s sleep our body is low on vitamins and energy. Therefore at this point of the day, a healthy meal is what our body needs. So that is definitely a good reason to have breakfast. Isn’t it?

Another reason, to have your breakfast is that a small study found that when lean, healthy women skipped breakfast, their blood sugar was higher, along with their cholesterol, increasing their risk of chronic diseases like diabetes and even a cardiac arrest. Skipping breakfast caused the women to eat lunch early, and consecutively eating another meal at around 3 or 4 in the afternoon, increasing their number of meals in the entire day.

Here, a question arises, is skipping Breakfast related to being overweight? Although a direct effect of skipping breakfast on weight has not been discovers yet. But studies prove, people who skip breakfast are more likely to be overweight, it said that breakfast skippers are 5 times more obese than those who ate a healthy breakfast. Also, Breakfast helps you balance out your protein Protein is essential for development in the body, but if we’re not getting enough protein throughout the day, muscle maintenance is not adequate. Therefore it is very important to have a protein filled healthy breakfast.

SANITATION

Sanitation is the hygienic practice to promote healthy lifestyle through proper disposal and treatment of human excreta, sewage, solid & liquid waste and provide a healthy environment. Improper disposal of these wastes causes health problems such as diarrhea, malaria, etc. Attack of disease to humans can be prevented through appropriate hygienic practices, e.g. sanitary sewers, sewage treatment, solid waste management and excreta management. There are a number of technologies for excreta management, e.g. pit latrines, dry toilets and septic tanks. Above all behavior changes is most in personal hygiene practices, such as use of toilets for defecation and hand washing with soap neither all technologies will be useless.

It is scientifically  proven that human excreta is very dangerous in terms of health. Human excreta contains a huge number of pathogens which causes disease when comes into contact. Sanitation should not limit with individuals it must be cumulative; because shit of one person might enter into another body through hand, food, water, etc. So, human excreta must be handled thoroughly during collection, transportation, treatment or disposal.

According to WHO (World Health Organization) “Sanitation generally refers to the provision of facilities and services for the safe disposal of human urine and feces. The word ‘sanitation’ also refers to the maintenance of hygienic conditions, through services such as garbage collection and wastewater disposal.”

Four major engineering infrastructure of sanitation associated with:

  • Wastewater management systems
  • Solid waste management systems and
  • Excreta management systems
  • Drainage systems for rainwater

The Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council defines sanitation as

  • “The collection, transport, treatment and disposal or reuse of human excreta, domestic wastewater and solid waste, and associated hygiene promotion.”

Overall of sanitation practices provide a healthy living environment for everyone, provide safety, security and dignity. Rural sanitation is crying for safety and dignity for people, especially for women when they defecate or urinate openly.toilet

Lack of sanitation generally refers open defecation whether due to the absence of sanitary toilet or habit. This carelessness creates serious public health issues, especially in rural areas.

Disease transmission

The “F-diagram” depicts that human excreta is the main source of some of the disease. This feces come with human contact via fingers, fliers, fields, fluids and food. Finally, pathogens use the human body as new host to develop new diseases.
