Do What You Love

love what you do

All of us must have had some crazy dreams during childhood, and then suddenly we grew up and got trapped in the fast-paced roller-coaster ride of our lives. Every action was reinforced by motivation to achieve certain grades or degrees. And eventually came our responsibilities towards our families. Amidst all this and the chaos of life, we gave up those fantastic dreams of ours.

There is no doubt that the real purpose of every human being is not to gather material symbols of achievement but to satisfy her soul. But all we do is strive to fit into the schemas of perfect subjects, hobbies or occupations created by society by killing our own desires. We see ourselves as manifestations of society but we don’t see that the society, whether its rigid or not is our own reflection.

The world begins with us. It comprises of  our actions, thoughts and desires. That is whatever makes it is our actions and the thought attached to it. If our thoughts aren’t congruent with our actions then we cannot enjoy what we are doing and we usually don’t up being fruitful to ourselves and the society.

A very common issue in India, for instance is that many students are often forced to take up science as it is THE subject which could promise them a profession which is more stable and meaningful than what Humanities would offer(a misconception).

It is not just a matter of academic choice but also about choosing ones interests in other areas such as dance, music, art etc. It is always that some things are thought of as being lower in heirarchy of occupation than others.

At some point of time in life we all regret not doing what we wanted to. This happens especially when we encounter failures in life. Some of us often try to impose our ambitions onto the coming generation again creating a chain of social expections. Life becomes monotonous and unproductive for those who don’t love what they do.

It is thus very crucial to indulge in our interests that we desire. Doing something we love instills positivity in us. Even if failure comes our way, there is always motivation to improve and overcome. It also relatively easy to be proficient and professional in ones own area of interest. A motivated individual is always satisfied and is also fruitful and productive for the society. It makes her or him come alive and the world needs people who have come alive.

However, times are changing and the needs of individuals are better understood now than they were earlier but it is one reminder one must always be reminded of.

It would be perfect to end it with a positive note by Steve Jobs: “The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it, keep looking. Don’t settle.”

10 most dangerous snakes in the world

0
snake

Not many animals knock as muchear into people as snakes do. Although the contingency of running into a venomous snake, much less being bitten and dying from its toxin, are diminutive compared to dying from cancer, heart disease, or a road accident, this seemingly absurd fear remains very genuine for many people. This abnormal fear of snakes is called Ophidiophobia. The list below is an overview of the snakes that posit a significant health risk to humans, through snakebites or other physical trauma.

10. Rattle Snake

The Rattlesnake is easily attributable by the tell tale rattle on the end of its tail. They are the members of the Pit Viper family, and are capable of striking at up to 2/3rd their body length. The juveniles are considered more dangerous than adults, due to their inability to control the amount of venom injected. Most of the species have hemotoxic venom which destroys tissue, degenerates organs and causes disrupted blood clotting. Difficulties in breathing, paralysis, salivating and massive hemorrhage are also common symptoms. A rattlesnake bite is on all accounts a fatal injury. However, antivenin, when applied in time, decreases the death rate to less than 4%.

9. Death Adder

The Death Adder is found in Australia and New Guinea. They actually poach and kill other snakes via ambuscade. They look quite similar to vipers as they have triangular shaped heads and short, squat bodiesIts untreated bite is one of the most dangerous in the world as the venom is a neurotoxin. A bite causes paralysis and can lead to death within 6 hours, due to respiratory failure. With the swiftest strike in the world, a Death Adder can go from strike position to striking and back again within 0.13 of a second.

8. Viper

Vipers are found across the globe, but the most venomous is the Saw Scaled Viper and the Chain Viper, found in the Middle East and Central Asia, particularly India, China and South East Asia. Vipers are quick tempered and generally nocturnal. There is a descent in blood pressure and the heart rate falls. Blisters occur at the site of the bite, and gradually develop along the affected limb in severe cases. Necrosis is usually superficial but may be severe in extreme cases. They have pit organs which give them a form of binocular vision that aids them to strike with great precision. Death from respiratory or cardiac failure may occur 1 to 14 days after-bite, or even later.

7. Philippine Cobra

The Philippine Cobra is an exception amongst the other cobras. Its venom is the deadliest of all the Cobra species and they are gifted of spitting it up to 3 metres. It’s bite can cause death from paralysis within 30 minutes. The venom alters cardiac and respiratory function, and can result in neurotoxicity. The bite causes only minimal tissue damage.

7. Tiger Snake

Found in Australia, the Tiger snake has dynamic neuro toxic venom. Symptoms can include localized pain in the foot and neck region, tingling, numbness and sweating, followed by an expeditious onset of breathing difficulties and paralysis. The Tiger snake generally flees if encountered, but can become aggressive when cornered. It strikes with impeccable accuracy. The tiger snake produces live young instead of laying eggs. After mating in spring, the female produces 20-30 babies in late summer.

6. Black Mamba

The formidable Black Mamba is found throughout many parts of the African continent. They are known to be highly aggressive, and strike with deadly precision. They are the fastest and the deadliest land snake in the world, capable of reaching speeds of up to 20km/h. A single bite is capable of blood shedding 10-25 adults. Black mambas hunt during the daytime and go back to their places every night to sleep. The victim undergoes a tingling sensation in the mouth and extremities, double vision, tunnel vision, severe confusion, fever, excessive salivation and lack of muscle control. Without antivenin, the mortality rate is nearly 100%.

4. Taipan snake

Taipan, native to Australia, is strong enough to carnage up to 12,000 guinea pigs. The venom clots the victim’s blood, blocking arteries or veins. It is highly neurotoxic. Prior the advent of an antivenin, there are no known survivors of a Taipan bite, and cessation typically occurs within an hour. Even with fruitful administration of antivenin, most victims will have an extensive stay in intensive care.

3. Blue Krait

The Blue Krait is, by far, the most deadly of this species. Found throughout South East Asia and Indonesia, 50% of its bites are mortal, even with the administration of antivenin. Although it is called a Blue Krait, the snake isn’t actually Blue.  It has a white body with broad black bands across it. Sometimes there are some yellow patches on it too.  The head has completely dark shade. They are nocturnal and more aggressive under the cover of darkness. Overall they are timid and will attempt to camouflage rather than fight. The venom is a neurotoxin, 16 times more potent than that of a Cobra. Before the advent of antivenin, the fatality rate was as massive as 85%. Even if antivenin is administered in time, you are far from assured survival. Death usually occurs within 6-12 hours of a Krait bite.

2. Eastern Brown snake

1/14,000 of an ounce of its venom is enough to kill an adult human. Unfortunately, its preferred habitat is along the major population centres of Australia. It is rapid and can be aggressive under certain circumstances. Even juveniles can slay a human. The venom contains both neurotoxins and blood coagulants. They react only to movement, so stand still if you ever encounter one in the wild. However it has a very useful role in a farmer’s life as it helps control the numbers of rodent pests.

1. Inland Taipan

The sub-specie Inland Taipan deserves a mark of its own. It has the most toxic venom of any land snake in the world. The maximum produce recorded for one bite is 110mg, enough to kill about 100 humans, or 250,000 mice! Favourably, the Inland Taipan is not aggressive and is seldom come across by humans in the wild. No casualties have ever been documented, though it could potentially kill an adult human within 45 minutes.

Now you know the most dangerous snakes in the world. Some are easy to avoid while others may sneak up on you even in the middle of a bustling city. Some snakes are dangerous because of the ferocity of their attacks, others because of how widespread they are, and some because their toxins are deadly. The majority are not aggressive, and will steer clear of you if you steer clear of them.

The nerdy introvert

2
Introvert

“Don’t stare at me this way, who are you to judge me. I’m not shy okay it is just that I don’t want to entertain this melodrama.” His own image stared blankly at him from the mirror of his room. Society called him introvert he called himself smart. This was just the difference of perception, mind set and choices. Don’t you remember that silent kid in your school, or that college nerd? No?  Then that person whom you met on your train journey, who didn’t even say a proper hi to you. Yes now you must be frowning on how rude some people can be, no they weren’t rude they just like to keep it to themselves.

introvertArnav had been silent for most of his life but his thoughts had wandered a long way, wondering why people voiced their opinions without giving it a second thought. He had been a calculative person, for most of his life. But tomorrow it had to be different, he had his interview. The dream job was just an interview away and he at any cost had to crack it. But ‘how’ was the question…he had been rejected by two companies already due to improper communication skills and his introvert nature. But tomorrow he couldn’t afford this, he was going to grab this opportunity.

Since last two hours he had been trying to practise the mocks but would stop abruptly due to loss of words. He was frustrated, trying to question his own existence. Had he been leading a wrong life all these years, was he not capable enough to pass a job interview. Then what was the use of those ranks and highest grades in the class. It felt as if they were shouting back at him that it would all go In vain because you are a face with zipped mouth. But he was not; he had always been a good listener, not a loser. This was his only opportunity to prove that a loud mind is no less that those who have loud voices.

“So Mr Gupta, why should we hire you?” The interviewer had a grim face, though he was already impressed by Arnav’s grades he had to put up some general questions to test this boy.

His hands were cold and sweaty, trying to search for some vocabulary he finally got his voice, “Sir, I’m an eight point grader that completely fits your criteria. Also I’ve managed to complete projects within the given deadline, which shows I can very well work under timely pressure.”

The interviewer liked his easy going yet confident attitude but still he decided to play the villain. You would understand this scenario if you ever have been to an interview, the questionnaire is never ending from their side until they scare the shit out. He asked him some technical and logical questions that Arnav solved with ease. After all he was stud in quantitative and logics. With a big smile and erect stature he left the cabin and joined the candidates waiting for the results.

“Mr Arnav Gupta, congratulations you have been selected to join our firm as a graduate trainee

Arnav was on cloud seven, but suddenly he felt a jab on his back…he started falling down and hit a big stone. That jerk of his body woke him up of his deep slumber. Rubbing his face and yawning he tried to clear the dirt of his eyes. He had again fallen asleep on his study table like every night reading some classic or fiction, but today it was his dream company’s appointment letter on his name.

Experience magical love

LOVE

Love has a different meaning to all. The way each person views it, love becomes that for them. Love is a psychological factor which exists in all human being. It is an emotion, a feeling that can only be felt and it has different ways of expressing.

It is a great thing to be experienced in life at least for once according to me. The reason that is motivating me to write this article is love that I’m in with my someone very special. Now while I’m writing this article it is reminding me of him and I’m having a smile on my face. It’s almost been four years I’m experiencing it and it is a great feeling. After a whole tiring day when you are back to home and you just speak some two words with that special one it again energizes you and makes you feel so relax.

The most important thing that I have learnt in these four years is having a trust on the other person which makes your relationship stronger day by day. It becomes very difficult to maintain a long distance relationship at times. And mine is the same. It’s being 3 years we are not being close to each other and at times it just makes me feel ‘if he could have been here’ but yet we have the same spark and trust in our relation and we both feel that the love grows more and more as the days are passing by.

Now a day’s people have started taking all these as fun. In my friend circle only I see so many of them breaking up today and again going with some other person the next day. It makes me feel like as though they are paying with each other’s emotions and never had any true feelings from the beginning of the relation. I don’t find any trust between the partners which the most important fact to maintain any relationship for a long run.

I don’t say that have a blind trust because that’s again dangerous and either of the partners end up getting hurt and losing the trust factor for future.

experience loveLove can give you a lot and as well take a lot from you as sacrifice. So, it becomes important that how you choose your partner who worth that sacrifice. To be true love never gives you an option to select you just fall in love without really caring how the person is. Even though you know that the person is not right for you and the relation might end up soon still you tend to fall in love with that person. It’s true and well said by someone that while you are in love just ‘follow your heart and not the mind’ because mind at times makes you do that you would not like to.

But at times we need to listen to our mind and specially in today’s world when we have started taking everything to be so easy going and are becoming emotionless day by day. Because mind always helps you in taking the correct decision whereas heart only binds you with emotions.

You can fall in love with anyone anytime and anywhere. It is not bound to time, age or status and looks. You just fall in it because your heart says that yes that’s the right person for whom you have been waiting till now.

Love always might not solve all your problems or might not require a sacrifice each time. It all depends on the person , the situation and the time you are in with your partner.

Love is beautiful, love is friendship , love is a small world of you and your partner and you must experience it.

Death

death image

The time to die has come,
for no immortal did I ever become,
will have to leave what I earned.
The lessons that I learned,
The relations I gained,
Even the memories that pained,
Nothing can be taken along,
Except the deeds I did
Till now since long.

Death

Now here I lie,
Looking for you my death
with wide open eyes.
Your coming is inevitable,
For you never were preventable.
But I honour your existence,
And now I can sense your presence.
I don’t seek to question you,
Nor have any grudge against you.
Now, that you have arrived
To take my soul,
just grab me in your arms
And swallow me whole,
At last, I let go off my spirit and strength,
With peace and calm I accept my death.

Imperfect heart

1
imperfect heart

From an imperfect heart In a perfectly abnormal body

You! Yes, you are definitely not a perfect human being. Okay no need to get offended by this, because I just stated facts that you people call quotes. Nobody is perfect in this world, no one can be because The Almighty hates competition. Let me start by introducing myself, isn’t that the way a normal conversation should start. I’m an imperfect heart; placed in a perfectly abnormal body. Yes this is what you all call her, ‘an abnormal kid’. But common you know this was not her choice, it was no one’s choice unless you can simply blame those chromosomes.

When born, the doctors turned down their smiles looking at the child, they sympathised her parents. But for me she was my soul bearer, only if I could tell her that I’m beating only for her. Her parents where in a dilemma, they loved her but they were not prepared for this ‘abnormal kid’. But she was yet so beautiful, so pure; unaware of this cruel world and judgmental minds. She smiled and gurgled in her mother’s lap and I felt the warmth in every touch. Days passed…frowns increased. She was shut down to the world outside, her parents wanted to safe guard her. But finally given to her tantrums they took her out on a picnic. She was a mere six year old innocent kid then, how would she know that she was not a normal child and no one would like to play with her. You see she was not judgemental. But the kid’s parents were, they shooed her away from playing with the normal children at the picnic spot. If it were you, you would have cried your heart out and created a fuss out of it. But she was still smiling and clapping her hands not knowing that she is not to be mingled with any normal person.

That was the first time I cried, silently sobbed but still kept beating. A thought crossed my mind, if I go silent then it will end her misery but the next moment I dreaded it. But then the big day arrived, her father thought of admitting her to a school that are built for special children like her. May be she would be happy to be with people who are like her. I was happy but at the same time I was angry, that her parents also didn’t wanted to treat her the way she deserved like every normal person. But that was the wisest decision taken by her father because the golden days were waiting ahead with a bright shine.

She was warmly welcomed by the warden of her school, I was smiling brightly yet beating a tit faster at the thought of being among strangers for the whole six hours. After some quite minutes, there she was playing, sweating and still enjoying and here I was dancing and pounding.  As days passed…friendship got thicker and I learnt they all were special, they didn’t need permission of this chauvinist society to smile and be happy. She learnt many new games and got attached to a hobby; knitting and Oh MY GOD! She became a professional in it and I was so proud of her. I wanted to tell the world that she, unlike you all genius minds could knit her own clothes. But I knew they still would treat her badly…they won’t abuse her but they will show pity on her. I wanted her to be accepted by everyone, not because of sympathy or responsibility but by choice.

It was her parent’s marriage anniversary today, she had a gift wrapped packet in her hand. She silently walked to her parent’s room that walk was full of excitement and I was bursting with joy. Her parents asked her why was she standing on the door, she stammered and said she had brought something for them as their anniversary gift. One look at the hand knitted cloth by their daughter, they were over whelmed. It was a cute baby pink square shaped cloth and scribbled in red colour was;

“I love you, Ma and Papa. You are the best parents in the world”

That was the moment they accepted their daughter for who she was. She had succeeded to change her parent’s perspective but to change the mind set of this society was not that easy. . Till then they treated her like an abnormal child who needed special treatment, but now they knew she needed that special care for being the best child in this world. But only if they knew, they were late. That night being overjoyed, I went to sleep…she breathed her last…

Overcome Shyness

4
shyness

There are two types of people in this world. Ones, who like to think out loud, others, who prefer to process the world internally, answer their own questions, and come to a conclusion before speaking up. All my life I’ve been an inwardly directed person. This personality trait has benefits and drawbacks. On the positive side, it’s a source of strength as a writer .Without it I wouldn’t have taken an interest in books. On the downside, my tendency to keep everything inside is responsible for one of my major weaknesses-shyness.

Understanding Shyness

Shyness is rooted in fear-an irrational fear of speaking up and being humiliated or ignored. Why are some people so afraid of speaking out? In my opinion the main causes are oversensitivity and insecurity .When you associate speaking out with pain and embarrassment, you’ll do almost anything to avoid it. Unfortunately, shyness is an enormous detriment to success.

It’s Not You It’s Them

For naturally quiet people, the fear of speaking can arise from a few bad experiences, especially at an early age. The way someone reacts to something you say usually has nothing to do with you-it’s more likely a reflection of the mood they’re in or a recent event in their life.

A key to overcoming shyness is recognizing these perceived slights for what they are-meaningless. When someone reacts to you negatively, don’t take it personally. Imagine the other person’s perspective. Considering the perspective of the other person makes it easier to put their reaction in the proper context.

It’s also essential to let go of bad experiences. When you dwell on a bad experience, it grows into something much more frightening than reality. The more you think about a bad experience the more power you give it. Don’t blame yourself. The more you can fill your mind with positive memories of speaking up the easier it gets.

Other People Aren’t So Different

Another important step in overcoming shyness is realizing that other people are basically the same as you. Everyone is insecure and afraid of embarrassment. People are friendly and interested in connecting with others. They’ll respond favourably to your attempts at communicating.

The second cause of shyness is insecurity .If you don’t think you have anything to contribute, what’s the point of risking embarrassment?

Do not watch yourselves with other people’s eyes, you are not them! You are YOU!!

shynessTo get over this you need to recognize the merit of your own thoughts and the value they present to others. To reach your potential, you need to share yourself with the world. Your brilliant thoughts don’t hold any value until they’ve enlightened someone else.

The best way to get accustomed to sharing is practice .Force yourself to speak up. Sit in the room and make yourself visible. Once you get used to opening up, you’ll notice how positively people react. This will build your self confidence and faith in the goodwill of others. Try to push your limits bit by bit. Go to more public places and try to slowly get more and more accustomed.

When you have a thought or idea that deserves to be heard, you’re not only hurting yourself by keeping quiet, you’re hurting the people around you. Other people need you. They need your insight to work through problems .By hiding behind shyness; you limit the help you can give to your friends, family members and society. By overcoming shyness, you give yourself the chance to be recognized and promoted. You create opportunities and open yourself up to forming meaningful relationships.

Don’t keep your talent inside, share at every opportunity so it can grow and flourish.

Be proud of who you are and show people you are confident and have loads to offer.

Head vs Heart

head vs heart
Brain and Heart

The one who is reading this may be you are a teenager, may be your  adult or a aged person, this is the thing which we all are facing in each phase of our lives. We all are dealing with this battle everyday sometimes knowingly and sometimes unknowingly. Sometimes, this leads us to a greatest pleasure of our lives or sometimes we end up with  lifetime regression. In this battle , there is no winner or loser in both the cases “WE are responsible to became a Dictator or a Victim”; its  just a matter of “SELECTION” selecting your head or your heart. Yes you got me right the battle is between our head and heart.

Everyday we come across millions of things in which we have to choose over our head and heart. It starts right from the morning itself. For example: Getting up in the morning from bed our HEART says ” Have a sleep dear you still have time “ while HEAD says “ Get up you fool you are running late” ; At the time of having breakfast our Heart says” Look at those aloo paratha soo yummy go for it” while HEAD says ‘No no are you nuts you on diet no ways you are going to have that much calories”; Or When you on shopping and you are buying a stilettos heels HEART says “ Wow just perfect you gonna look amazing” and HEAD says” Ohh c’mon you won’t be comfortable in those stilettos go for something in flats”

heart-vs-head

As you can see our Head always goes with the long term solutions it takes every decision by thinking logically, analytically, calculating from all the possible ways with all IF’s &BUT’s with all pro’s and con’s.

But our heart it just know how to feel, without any measurements it just takes all decisions emotionally and sentiment based , it always follows the intuitions, gut feelings doesn’t go for any IF’s & BUT’s it just do what it feels right at that time.

Let me ask you one thing, How many  times you have told yourself that you are not going to repeat that mistake again? Or How many times you have told yourself that you don’t care about that person? Or How many times you have just pretended to be the one who you are not?

Many times I guess, you can see the moment when you say, you are not going to repeat that mistake again because you know how much your heart got hurt the very first time so your brain direct you to that consequence; The time when you are saying you don’t care but you know deep down the heart you do you always do; the time when you are pretending you know that you are faking it but you even know sometimes being fake is easier than revealing what you actually feel. You can see the fight between mind and heart is for sure very real and might be serious sometimes.

Let me tell you a short story about girl named Naina like us she is also struggling between her heart and mind always. When is was at turning stage of her life the time when she need to choose her career   she was confused, because at Heart she always wanted to do something big in life and to become famous so she always wanted to become an Actor; but at Head she was thinking what if selecting Acting turns out a wrong decision and I will ruin my whole life I can never come back at this stage again and as her family says the one who is born and brought up in middle class family doesn’t belongs to that world. She was not able to come on one conclusion every time the voices of her heart and head pop up and make her  more confused this mess continued till a week and finally her Head won she diverted her mind from being an Actor to Doctor.
