Birthday gift

0

I was six years old when i was sent here. I don’t know why i was sent here. But i remember the day very clearly. It was my birthday, the most awaited day of whole year. I turned six. It was the day I got this gift. The gift which today is the only possession of my own. I got it from the two most important persons of my life, my parents. Being only a six year old kid I consider it to be the worst gift of my life. I was send to place I do not know anything with the person I do not know the name even. But they choose it as my birthday gift was the biggest question my life. Like every normal child I tried to know but all in vain. The real truth of my life is I still do not know. Later did I realised what has happened with me. I was sent to a fully furnished 2 bed room apartment to live all alone forever. The lady who accompanied me, I consider her my aunt until I realise she is even a myth in my life.

It was my birthday when I first reached there. I guess that was the most exciting journey of my life for the whole way I was dreaming of a biggest surprise I was going to get. Being a normal innocent child I was also expecting a general surprise party with lots of gift. But honestly that was the last time I dreamt of something good. As soon as I entered the place I ran to each and every corner of it looking for my surprise but got nothing. The lady consoled me to wait for some time and being tired from my happiest journey I slept. That was the most calm sleep I ever had after coming here. I slept with a hope for a real good morning instead of a virtual one. But to my hard luck I got nothing neither real nor virtual.

It was my first day here when I got to know everything. I had always noticed a certain difference in my parent’s behaviour with me comparing to other parents with their kids. But I never bothered about it, I always use to think it could be because of my shy nature. I am an introvert since childhood. But I have always thought being introvert is my strength for I can listen to peoples very calmly. It was that day only I was proved wrong. But my that birthday had changed my life forever. I was just a kid that time who being normal want to go to school, make friends, want to share each minute detail if my day with my parents but all these things turned out to be a just dream for me. With each passing day I tried my best to contact my parents, sent numerous letters to them, called n times in a day just to get the answer of a single question.

But the things were far beyond my reach. Each thing with me was not just awkward but weird as well. I was just made to stay away from them means in any case I should not be in contact with them- My Parents. I was admitted to quite good school. I was provided the proper education I could ask for. I had all the materialistic things I could ask for but the kid at age of six need affection, care which was no where to be seen. I was seven only when I had learnt to do almost each chore of mine, myself. Starting from getting ready to school followed by packing my tiffen accompanied by washing my own dishes for all three time meal and finally ended by accepting the reality of my life. The lady who accompanied me handled all my emotions, my late night crying to my morning sadness. She was the one who did her best to help me.

dreamingThe time passed with its pace but my emotions were still stuck at my place. With each passing day I missed my home my parents everyone out there much more but it was of no use. For I was not at all missed there. Four years passed on like this but there was no sign of my family no phone call no letter nothing. Every year the worst day of my life come(my birthday) and went off like every another day. Then came another worst day of my life. My only hope my aunt left off. The girl just 10 years old was left all alone in a big two bed room apartment. Those were the most fearful nights. I could always feel somebody is noticing me, following me and cursing me all the time. Every time I close my eyes I feel like somebody is lying near me sometimes on me. Those were the most dread moments of my life. These went for an year

Due to all my fear and anxiety i was completely lost at my academics but since most of the teachers know my background none of them bothered much about me. But as it is said there’s always the light behind darkness, I finally got the light of my life. A lady from my neighbour step up to help me. She was my teacher as well. She once called me home and asked everything about me. After so many years I heard a loved voice. She gave me so much affection and love within an hour that I had no hope of recieving ever. She had so many questions but I had just one answer “I don’t know” for that is the truth of my life, I actually don’t know. But that day I really got my only hope I ever could wish for. She had a son and a daughter a lovely family and they all accepted me like their own. I still had to sleep alone in my apartment but that fear of being alone has now gone forever. Her love and affection has strengthened me. They have taught me importance of life, a life which is a most valuable thing we have which we all should live to the fullest. I scored well afterward and completed my education the way I have always dreamt of.

Now I live much better life than expected. I am a teacher now and the most favorite person of all my neighbours for I am the teacher of their children. I not only teach the my neighbour’s children but also their servant’s children. All of them know everything about me and treat me as their family. Its been 18 years now I am living here. I was six and now I am 24. Many things have changed in these 18 years. I have completely given up on my family. For the truth is that yes I do not have any of my blood relations but I have all the relations which are much more than the so called blood relations for me. They have always supported me helped me and most important believed in me. It is not that I have no respect left for my parents, they are still my possession. It is because of them only I got so many beautiful peoples in my life. I am really thankful to them for sending me here because of them only I am able to overcome the most dreadful pain of life “being alone”. Now I celebrate my birthdays as well for as I said I have learnt the importance of life. But I still don’t know why I was sent here. Honestly I have no expectations from my family but I do hope to get to know this reason once in my lifetime.

A simple life quote to follow:

“Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future. Concentrate the mind on the present moment”.

From Father of Nation to The Modern-Day Gandhi

0

Mahatma Gandhi, ‘the Father of Nation’ has been cremated almost six decades ago but his ideology still continues to live. You all will be glad on knowing this that our Bapu still lives among us, he is still with us spreading his messages of truth and non-violence.
Yes, on not more than the distance of 100 metres away from Rajghat, lives Mahesh Chaturvedi, a man of 68-years-old who looks and lives like Gandhi. A man who was earlier a professor, but in 2002 he left his job. He says, “Gandhi came to me one night and I left everything.”

Dressed in crisp white dhoti with a gamcha (towel) over his shoulders and rimmed spectacles he has made the message of Mahatma. He preaches Gandhi’s teachings and wants to spread the message of truth and non-violence all over the world. On first glance, the resemblance between him and Gandhi is striking as apart from that he can also mimic his voice and he greets people by folding his hands and by saying “Ram Ram” with a simple smile on his face. Over the phone every conversation of modern Gandhi begins with “Vande Mataram.”

According to HT, he rebuffs queries about his “past life” and doesn’t say how he sustains himself without a job. Many of the local people says that he has some devotees who puts money in his bank account.
His leaflet reads, “Leave India, brown Englishmen” as he is looking for a country who is free from the corrupted political system. “The British left India but their influence remains. I don’t oppose English language but the feudal mindset needs to go for the poor to prosper.” Says modern Gandhi. He has also written letters to prime ministers and presidents regarding the same but all were unsuccessful. “One person can change the world.” He says and so he never loose hope and continues to spread his message all over the world.
In spite of all this, he says that the times have changed and so military action is necessary and doesn’t flinch from praising soldiers. But what about the Mahatma’s famous non-violent methods? “Times have changed. If you extend one cheek after a slap, people will hit you thrice.”

Deep secrets of healthy , happy and a beautiful life

0

Are You guys ready to explore a new, beautiful world leaving all irrelevant beliefs behind. So here you go…Now every girl should need to think like  this—

Yes i am gorgeous. Smart and damn strong. No one can define my beauty , my Grace , my body. Feminism is something to be celebrated. But these days is it’s all so lame , the so called disease of being trendy and cool is making everyone sick. Every women is beautiful. Unfortunately now its all about skin show, exposure and turning hippy. Weird accessories with a pathetic sense of fashion. People are just blindly following the crowd without using their own senses.

Comfort Zone

11-59-08-images I am against body shaming and bullying, but we cannot deny we all have different body types, and just to prove ourselves being a part of this fashionista rat race we force ourselves into any sort of dress and without realising how funny we look. There is a difference between centre of attraction and centre of laughter. If many eyes are turning on u its not always to appreciate , but sometimes to mock. Fashion is being graceful, elegant, carrying yourself with confidence and most importantly you must feel comfortable in what you wear, it can be either acessories or any dress. And might be the smallest of things like a mere handbag, earings, or even shoes. We all need to get this very necessary thing straight into our heads that we make fashion it is for us , to enhance our beauty not to makes us feel bad about ourselves & that is what we call style.

Proper Knowledge

The most essential thing is proper or atleast basic knowledge. We all know that beauty lies within ourselves, but then we Also hear many jokes or even saw many trolls on that. We dont have an x- ray in our eyes to see inner beauty. Right, i agree but just think if you are happy , confident , comfortable , calm from inside isn’t that going to affect the glow on your face. A happy face looks far better than a face with loads of make up with no confidence. Doing over with yourself in any aspect will always make you conscious. So this what we call as fashion and beauty. No a big and clear no is the only answer. Now lets start with basic things.11-56-53-images

  • Always look presentable, it nothing has to do with make up , it means staying hygenic, wearing decent clothes, smelling good.
  • If you want to go for accessories , try something that comlients you , your attire.
  • Dress according to your age.
  •  Dont push yourself for those tights, if you have a broad structure, and if you are slim dont try to look over slim its not cool at all you can try the stuff that makes you look normal like balloon style. Over in everything is bad even kareena kapoor who once achieve size zero says that she never wants to have it again. So use your senses wisely.
  •  Dont go for too shiny stuff. It looks tacky. Simlicity is classy.
  •  Dont be too harsh with you hair. Show some love for them, simply shampoed, nicely comb, looks perfecf than any other hair style and even this specific open hair thing go for every occassion with a very little style, like a small front flick it can work out.

The Super Secret

Girls i am not against anything fashion, dresses accessories , being trendy or cool. I am against your pain, your anguish, your feelings of self pity, self hatred due to these so called fashion races. Think is there seriously any need of taking so much mental pressure, cursing your looks , your complexion , your body type, your hair every day every moment, that intense public fear. I know people who love taking pictures but avoid them due to same reason, people who dont like to face mirror.

You know what, these are two basic things that i strongly feel we all have fail to understand badly but before that remember now we are leaving destructive things far behind, and going for the constructive things.

Just be optimistic and start to work out.

fitness

  •  If you start to love yourself that will be all just take bath everyday , try never to skip it, wash your hair at least thrice a week and if you can massage them before washing you can have long lustrous hair in two months or so. Because if you take bath everyday you will look fresh as a flower , like a morning dew, and your beautiful hair will be an add on to enhance your beauty.

  • This is the ultimate and most important factor Staying Fit. If you look fit everything will look good on you and apart from beauty by exercising, by keep a check on your food, and then its all good if you eat healthy you can stay away from many chronic diseases, strokes, depression , diabities. There is no snake oil. Many scientific researches have proved exercise is benfitial for all age groups. It leads to glow, flexibility , increase in stamina , better sleep and most importantly a long and healthy life. I know its not easy  to cut down you fat or extra inches which can be due to many reasons but there is no harm in trying , if you keep trying then definitely you will get something because when you leave all your excuses you will found your results. So stop thinking and blaming just give it a shot.

I firmly believe beauty and fitness are co related , fitness and happiness leads to beauty and it leads to confidence. But always remember miracles never happen overnight you must need to stop doing complaints and start from now onwards. Its never too late. Last but not the least if you look wonderful in what you carry then people will follow you, your style , you can be a trend setter. But never try to get into others’s shoes , you can create your own magic with a little pinch of optimism. And above all ultimately its all about YOU , go do it for yourself and not for anyone or anything. Remember might be you are not like others but surely you are better than the rest. Just learn to have faith in your choices and prefernces and you are gonna rock it…
Go girl you can do it…

Durga Puja Kolkata

0

“Pujo ashche” is probably the most powerful couple of words for every Bengali; wait let me correct that, for any person staying in Kolkata (people, seriously,we are not all bengalis  -_-). Quite realistically, it marks the oncoming of Durga Puja, the festival every person in Kolkata lives and dies for. It summons the alacrity of a child even from the laziest of beings. It not only represents the traditional, cultural and worship ritual but also the chaotic yet, peaceful and adrenaline-pumping time of one’s whole year. From the 5 marked days of worship (Sashti, Saptami, Ashtami, Navami and Dashami) to the Anjali at the Pandals to the Bhog to the idols to the street lighting to the Pujo feel to infinity (because words don’t even begin to describe the feel), Pujo means everything those few days that Durga Maa is with us.

Celebrated as an epitome of the triumph of good on evil as a result of Maa Durga’s victory over Mahisasur (the buffalo-demon), this festival brings out the soul of the city and even to the least bothered person in Kolkata, this soul showers love, peace and inner joy like no one can and no one will. The belonging to the city, to one’s roots, to the culture heightens during this time. From the Dhunuchi dance at Rajbari to the Dhak to the Bangla rock to the rickshawallas dancing to Tuni, it’s all to be seen.

dp3 The preparations for Pujo:

It begins with the building of Pandals weeks before Puja in every Para (small divisions in the locality). Then the ritual of shopping for Durga Puja a few days before Pujo, the streets bustling with people to shop for sarees, jewellery, new decor for homes etc. People shine their houses from scratch. Then comes Amar Maa-er Murti(Goddess Durga’s idol),with Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha on Maa’s right side and Goddess Saraswati and Lord Karthike on the left. This arrangement takes place a couple of days before Pujo just to be on schedule with the faces covered with a piece of paper or cloth. The whole city is decorated with lights, flowers, rangoli etc. Food stalls set up in every lane of the city, from street food to packed food, to cold drinks to special dishes, these stalls provide everything.

Game stalls for the entertainment, for kids and adults (read ‘kids’ during Puja) alike, like rifle shooting (not humans but balloons of course) to loop throw etc. are no scarcer. The whole city symbolises a toddler waiting for it’s Maa. The children run around with cracker bursting guns. Then finally the day marking the beginning comes. The papers over the idols’ faces come off. Maa is ready to meet her children. The whole city comes to life, like an unknown spirit giving the energy, an unseen source of everlasting energy. Pandal hopping (jumping from pandal to pandal) commences. The city seems packed, literally 24×7.

The Connectivity

conitivityJust enter a pandal to know what I am talking about and to relate to it. When you look at the idol, you can see nothing else. Just feel the serenity around you, the love anyone and everyone is ready to shower on you, the blessings the elders spread throughout. Feel the comfort of the goddess in your proximity. Feel the soul of the city calling out to you, telling you “no matter where you come from, who you are, you belong here, you are our own”. Just live the experience. Smile, cry, just do what you feel like, no one’s going judge you there, in front of your mother.

The Delights:

Now after you feed your soul that love, affection and belongingness, it’s time to feed the stomach. From Puchkas (pani-puri or gol gappa) to chowmein to rolls to chops to ice golas to Chana-Chur to Ghatti Garam to Ghugni to Luchi Aloo-Dum the list goes on. From street food to swimming pool to Varadhan market to Lake District, even the places to eat are endless .All this, and I can still say it’s nothing, because you haven’t eaten the bhog, yet. Khichudi, aloo dum, bhaja, payesh, lungi etc,all this comprise the most heavenly meal one can ask for. Trust me on this. Eat as much as you can, people wouldn’t tire serving, infact the more you eat, the merrier.

After feeding the stomach, feed the eyes and that wanderlust soul. From lighting in areas like Park Street to the pandals of Bagh Bazaar, Sree Bhumi and FD block in Salt Lake to the street decorations in Nagerbazaar and Lake Town. From the decoration of Maa to the traditional red-white saree-clad women.

The Goodbye:

durga-pujaFinally after all the days of being carefree comes the bitter-sweet symphony of Dhaks signifying its time to say goodbye to the Goddess till next year. To let go of the idol into water. To let Maa take away all pain, all problems, all difficulties and yet bear the pain, the difficulty of letting Maa go. Yet us, Calcuttans fail to show sorrow in this. We happily, with music and dance and Sindur-Khela, bid farewell to her.

We cry, yet we smile.

We weep, yet we shine.

We are hurt and yet we love.

Like nothing can and nothing will.

This is Durga Puja in Kolkata and if you haven’t seen it, i can bet you haven’t experienced half the happiness you can!

It’s not a celebration, it’s the experience of raw happiness, sheer joy, unbridled emotions, it’s the experience of the city with a soul, it’s the experience of Kolkata.

Find yourself in the chaos of love, celebration, and Maa.

More than just LOVE

When we talk about LOVE, the first thing that comes to our mind is our partner. But LOVE has other meanings attached to it too.

Remember how your Mom was worried when you called in sick and she kept checking on you that whole day and night? She helped you deal with all your problems. She taught you to be best at what you like. She made all your favorite dishes when you asked for. She  called you 10 times to check if you had your food or not.  That’s More than just LOVE

love-father-photoRemember how your Dad motivated you to follow your passion without any fear and that he will handle everything that will come on your way? He taught you to be brave. He solved all your math problems. He even convinced mom when you wanted to go out for some party. He spent his money for your education and hobbies. That’s More than just LOVE

how-to-deal-with-grandparents-who-spoil-your-childrenRemember how your grandfather and grandmother took you out for a stroll and bought every chocolate you demanded on the way for you? They told you stories from their generation and showed how different their time was. They answered all your silly questions, even though you got pissed when they asked you how to use a certain application on their cellphones. That’s More than just LOVE

More than just LOVERemember how siblings made fun of you at one moment and then took a stand for you when everybody else started making fun of you the very next moment? They will fight with you every now and then but you do not know how much they miss you when you go for a short school trip. You can share your secrets with them without a second thought. That’s More than just LOVE

More than just LOVERemember how your pet came running towards you and started to wag his tail so that you caress him? You shouted at him when you were angry and he still came back to love you unconditionally. He would not eat his food until you make him eat with your own hands, he will wait for you. That’s More than just LOVE

Remember how your friend saved you from getting debarred? When you looked like a joker, he became a joker too, to save you from the embarrassment. He faced and tolerated all your tantrums. He found solutions to all of your problems- from having a crush or a situation in your love life to deciding clothes for your date to convince your parents for a night out, everything. He’s there for you always. That’s More than just LOVE

DREAMS

Do you know why should we never stop dreaming? Because dreams bring motive with them, the motive of our lives, the motive to live. They give us motivation to move our steps in the direction that make our walk longer on that particular path and in making it, the meaningful stroll of our life.

Dreams are the very first step in the ladder of success. It is that beautiful scenario that once, we assumed to be the part of our beautiful lives. Sometimes more than an assumption it become the truth, that reality of our life that we enjoy living with.

For some, it makes their lives and for some, it waste their time. It can make your lives but it can never waste your time as when you start dreaming, we always have that dreams that either we haven’t do  in life or we are going through the process of achieving that. It fills your eyes  with the confidence that you can do it and believe me you can. Dream to make your time as well as life worthy.

“Dream for being loved, dream for being successful, dream for being the most powerful voice, dream to be yourself and dream to be for others”.

Dreams are like blue everlasting sky, they have no end. No end for those who keep enough strength to stand up again and again, if they lose their balance in the way to their dreams and fell down, for those who cannot give up, for those who are the fighter.

Way to dreamsThe most important if you think that after seeing a dream your job is over, then I am sorry, you are highly mistaken my friend. For seeing a dream your eyes must be enough powerful which sees your success as well as ready to see you falling down at the same time. Your thoughts must be enough dreadful that it can’t change-up your mind when you feel low. Your words must be enough powerful that fight for their right and your steps must be enough benevolent that they can’t lance at the time of action.

The path to your dreams may not be easy, may it has failures, may be at times it makes your life more difficult but always remember:

“To choose a path is not difficult, but to walk on that path till last is more difficult, sometimes it ask you for sacrifices but at last,on reaching that destination that happiness makes you forget all that hard times in that one moment”.

Make yourself enough visionary, enough capable that you can see your dreams changing into reality. Dream it. Do it. Believe it. Believe in yourself, believe in your dreams. To do great, dream great. But never stop dreaming . We all have dreams. But to make it perceptibly, we have to make dreadful effort of self-discipline and determination.

Somebody has rightly said:

” Every great dream begin with dreamer. Always remember you have within the strength patience and passion to reach for the stars to change the world “.
