Know About The G.M Diet

GM Diet means General Motors Diet. It is the car company and it was very serious about the employee weight loss. Because due to weight loss not only we can see the results in a change of body and skin but also we can see the change in emotions and attitudes. This diet is full fibers which helps to remove excess weight easier.

What is GM Diet?

General Motors developed the GM Diet. Employees were suffering from their heavyweight so to help them to lose weight and feel healthier General motors developed the GM Diet. This weight loss program is also known as the “the cabbage soup diet” and “the Sacred Heart diet”.

GM was jointly worked with both the Food and Drug Administration. In 1985 the US Department of Agriculture used this in field tests at Johns Hopkins Research Center.

GM DIET PLAN

Before going to this please consult your doctor if you are taking any medicine for your health issues.

GM Diet plan is a 7 days program. During this 7 days, more quantity of water must be taken because water helps to give the required energy to the body and also during this 7 days alcohol should be avoided because alcohol flushes the entire water from the body and it may lead to illness. So don’t do any type of activity which leads to illness.

Know About The G.M Diet

DAY 1

Throughout the day take only fruits especially watermelon and cantaloupes. Because these fruits are rich in fibers, and other than banana you can intake any type of fruit. For a healthy choice, you can intake papaya, apples, and oranges. Take fruit juices, it is good for gym and any other works. Including fruits don’t forget to drink water. 8-12 glasses of water is preferred per day. Please don’t stay starving. If you feel hungry then eat some fruits.

A Schedule You Should Follow

  • Breakfast (8 am – 9 am) – A regular sized apple with a glass of water
  • Brunch (11 am – 12 pm) –Half a blow of sliced cantaloupe with a glass of water
  • Lunch (1:30 pm – 2 pm) – A serving of sliced watermelon and two glasses of water
  • Post lunch snack(4 pm – 5 pm)- A whole orange and a glass of water
  • Evening snack(6:30 pm – 7 pm)- An apple and a glass of water
  • Dinner(8 pm – 9 pm)- Sliced cantaloupe and a guava with two glasses of water

DAY 2

In day 2 you need to start your day with the baked potato with oil or butter in breakfast. Then consume the cooked or raw vegetables like carrots, beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, and cabbage, and you can also intake the salads with wine or vinegar.Y ou can also use lemons for flavor and keep in mind not to use salad dressing including 8-12 glasses of water.

A Schedule You Should Follow

  • Breakfast (8 am – 9 am) – A boiled potato. You can also add a teaspoon of low-fat butter for flavor.
  • Brunch (11 am – 12 pm) – Cabbage and lettuce salad with a light dressing and a glass of water.
  • Lunch (1:30 pm – 2 pm) – A mixed vegetable salad with cucumbers, onions, and carrots and two glasses of water.
  • Post lunch snack(4 pm – 5 pm)- A cup of boiled broccoli, half a cup of sliced bell pepper, and two glasses of water
  • Evening snack(6:30 pm – 7 pm)- Some boiled cauliflower with a light dressing and a glass of water
  • Dinner(8 pm – 9 pm)- A salad comprising boiled carrots, broccoli, and green beans, and two glasses of water

DAY 3

On the 3rd day take the both fruits and vegetables in the combination, but don’t use bananas and potatoes. For easy consume you can also combine them in the blender and include 8-12 glasses of water.

  • Breakfast (8 am – 9 am) – Half a bowl of cantaloupe or a sliced apple and two glasses of water.
  • Brunch (11 am – 12 pm) – Half a sliced pineapple or a pear and two glasses of water
  • Lunch (1:30 pm – 2 pm) – A salad of cucumber, carrots, and lettuce with two glasses of water
  • Post lunch snack(4 pm – 5 pm)- An orange with half a sliced cantaloupe and a glass of water
  • Evening snack(6:30 pm – 7 pm)- A pear and a glass of water
  • Dinner(8 pm – 9 pm)- Boiled broccoli and beets with two glasses of water

Day 4

It’s day for banana and milk, preferably only unsweet milk with 8 bananas. By the banana and milk you gain potassium and calcium respectively. You can also intake the soup on this 4th day along with banana and milk because most people can’t consume so much.

  • Breakfast (8 am – 9 am) – Two large bananas and a glass of milk
  • Brunch (11 am – 12 pm) – A banana shake (use one banana). Half a teaspoon of honey can be added as a sweetener.
  • Lunch (1:30 pm – 2 pm) – A bowl of GM diet soup
  • Post lunch snack(4 pm – 5 pm)- Banana milkshake
  • Evening snack(6:30 pm – 7 pm)- Two medium to small bananas
  • Dinner(8 pm – 9 pm)- Two large bananas and a glass of milk

DAY 5

Finally, this day is for meals. So consume the meat and tomatoes in the proportion of 10 ounces of meat with 6 tomatoes and also increase the water intake by quarter level because for the meals digestion, more water(8-12 glasses) intake is necessary.

  • Breakfast (8 am – 9 am) – A few small tomatoes with a bowl of boiled, seasoned kidney beans and two glasses of water
  • Brunch (11 am – 12 pm) – A cup of yogurt and two glasses of water
  • Lunch (1:30 pm – 2 pm) – A bowl of cooked chicken breast/fish with two tomatoes and two glasses of water
  • Post lunch snack(4 pm – 5 pm)- A salad with onions, and sprouts with two glasses of water
  • Evening snack(6:30 pm – 7 pm)- An apple and a pear
  • Dinner(8 pm – 9 pm)- GM Diet soup with two glasses of water

Day 6

It’s time to consume unlimited amount of lean protein.

  • Breakfast (8 am – 9 am) – A bowl of mixed boiled vegetables and two glasses of water
  • Brunch (11 am – 12 pm) – A bowl of boiled kidney beans with a diced tomato seasoned with spices, and two glasses of water
  • Lunch (1:30 pm – 2 pm) – A bowl of chicken breast/fish with the GM diet soup and two glasses of water
  • Post lunch snack(4 pm – 5 pm)- 3-4 baby carrots and a glass of water
  • Evening snack(6:30 pm – 7 pm)- A bowl of GM soup and a glass of water
  • Dinner(8 pm – 9 pm)- A bowl of boiled vegetables with a glass of water

Day 7

On the 7th day, you can eat all the vegetables and fruits but not meat and also juices which are sugarless.

  • Breakfast (8 am – 9 am) – A mixed vegetable salad in a small bowl and a glass of apple or orange juice
  • Brunch (11 am – 12 pm) – A bowl of GM diet soup and a small portion of carrot sticks with a glass of water
  • Lunch (1:30 pm – 2 pm) – A cup of brown rice, a bowl of boiled vegetables, and two glasses of water
  • Post lunch snack(4 pm – 5 pm)- A few carrots and a glass of kiwi juice
  • Evening snack(6:30 pm – 7 pm)- A mixed vegetable salad and two glasses of water
  • Dinner(8 pm – 9 pm)- A bowl of GM diet soup and two glasses of water

Vegetarian Method

It’s all about nonvegetarian people then what about vegetarian people ?

It is very simple the first 4 days of the diet plan is same for both vegetarian and nonvegetarian people. But on the 5th day onwards the plan will be slightly changed.

On the 5th day, vegetarian people should use brown rice or chickpeas instead of meat. Don’t use the kidney beans and lima beans because they are high in calories.

After one week you have the option to take a glass of white wine. But not vodka, rum or bourbon and also avoid the cream drinks.

GM Diet’s Special Soup

After 72 hours the energy of the body is going to decrease and you would start feeling hungry. So to overcome this, Gm diet has planned a special soup.You can have as much as the soup you want.

Procedure for this soup

In a large stockpot, add:

6 large onions – chopped

3 ½ cups of water

2 red peppers – chopped

4 whole tomatoes

1 head of cabbage – roughly chopped

1 bunch of celery – roughly chopped

Herbs of your choice

Boil the for low heat up to 30-45 minutes until veggies are soft but not mushy.

Advantages:

Disadvantages:

– muscle weakness

– muscle loss

– dull skin

– hair loss.

What to do after the GM Diet plan over?

If you feel your weight has not decreased according to your expectations then repeat your GM diet plan again after completion of your one week plan. So from second week onwards, you can use alcohol but that too only white wine or beer.

The Do’s

– If it is desired then only take vegetables in salad form.

– Select vegetables which you prefer

– Consume the soup in unlimited.

– Use lemon, garlic, white or wine vinegar for flavors.

– Use any type of vegetable in GM soup if you prefer.

The Don’ts

– Only use one tablespoon oil for vegetables.

– Avoid salad dressing.

– Don’t use lima and kidney beans.

– Don’t skip any day of the diet plan which may lead to extra weight.

– Follow each step in appropriate manner for successful results.

Exercise

It is not specific but if you want you can do at least 10 minutes per day.
