Mushroom is a hidden treasure of nature. It is a tasty vegetable that you can cook in any form. Mushrooms are a delight for vegetarians. There are some scrumptious dishes of mushrooms which we usually eat in restaurants. You can make those Mushroom dishes by following these recipes. The ingredients of Mushroom dishes are easily available at home.
Kadai Mushroom
This is a delicious dish of mushroom sautéed in a spicy gravy. You can eat this with rice, chapati, paratha and poori.
Ingredients –
- Mushroom – 1 packet
- Onion – 1 and half
- Tomato – 2
- Garlic – Few cloves
- Ginger – Small piece
- Chili – 2
- Oil – 3 tablespoons
- Capsicum – Half
- Cream – 2 tablespoons
- Water – 1 cup
- Salt – According to taste
- Coriander leaves – 1 tablespoon
- Turmeric powder – Half teaspoon
- Chilli powder – Half teaspoon
- Cumin powder – Half teaspoon
- Coriander powder – Half teaspoon
- Garam Masala – Half teaspoon
- Pepper powder – Half teaspoon
- Bay leaf – 2
- Kasuri Methi – 1 teaspoon
Method –
- In mushroom, remove the black part that is present inside it and then cut it. Chop tomatoes, 1 onion, garlic, ginger and 1 chili finely.
- In a pan, put 1 tablespoon of oil and fry onion, garlic, ginger and chili. Then add tomato. Do not overcook but fry till the raw smell disappears.
- Let it cool completely. Then grind the fried stuff in a grinder. Check the paste to ensure there is no whole piece. Cut half onion and capsicum into cubes.
- Wash that pan and heat it again. Put 1 tablespoon of oil. Add bay leaf and 1 chili to it. Let them crackle. Then add onion and capsicum cubes to it.
- Sautee them but do not overcook. Put the grinded paste to it. Then add 1 cup of water and let it boil.
- Add salt, turmeric powder, chili powder, pepper powder, cumin powder and coriander powder to it. Mix well and then put cream to it.
- Mix properly and add garam masala and kasuri methi. Then put mushroom pieces to it. Mix well and cover the pan for few minutes. Let mushroom absorb the flavors.
- Remove cover and mix, then garnish with coriander leaves. Serve it hot.

Mushroom Manchurian
This is a lip-smacking dish of mushroom in Chinese cuisine. You can eat this with any rice dish or noodles dish.
Ingredients –
- Mushroom – 1 packet
- Water – As needed
- Corn flour – 3 tablespoons
- Maida (Refined flour or Plain flour) – 3 tablespoons
- Chili powder – 1 teaspoon
- Oil – As needed for frying mushroom and for making gravy
- Salt – According to taste
- Garlic – Few cloves
- Chili – 1 or 2
- Onion – 1
- Capsicum – 1 or 2 depending on size
- Tomato sauce – 2 tablespoons
- Pepper powder – 1 teaspoon
- Maggi Magic Cube – 1
Method –
- In mushroom, remove the black part that is present inside it and then cut it. Chop onion, garlic, chili and capsicum.
- In a bowl put corn flour, maida, salt and chili powder. Mix all the ingredients and add water in required amount. Check the consistency of batter.
- Put mushroom pieces to this batter and mix well. The batter should neither be thick nor thin. It should coat all the mushroom pieces.
- Heat a pan and put sufficient oil to it. Add mushroom pieces in batches and fry them. Fry till the mushroom pieces become crisp. Keep them aside.
- In the same pan, heat oil and put onion to it. Then add garlic, chili, capsicum and fry till the raw smell disappears.
- Then put salt and pepper powder to it. Fry till they get cooked. Add tomato sauce to it and mix well.
- If there is any batter left in the bowl, then add water, Maggi Magic cube to it and mix. If there is no batter left, then mix 1 teaspoon of corn flour with some water and Maggi Magic cube.
- Add this to the pan where other ingredients have been sautéed. Mix thoroughly so that a gravy form. Cook till the gravy turns glossy.
- Put the fried mushroom to this gravy. Mix very well so that the mushroom pieces get coated with the gravy. Serve it hot.
Mushroom Masala
This is a yummy dish of mushroom sautéed in a creamy gravy. It is famous in restaurants. You can eat this with rice, chapati, paratha and poori.
Ingredients –
- Mushroom – 1 packet
- Oil – 3 tablespoons
- Salt – According to taste
- Onion – 1
- Tomato – 2
- Garlic – Few cloves
- Ginger – Small piece
- Chili – 1 or 2
- Chili powder – Half teaspoon
- Cumin powder – Half teaspoon
- Coriander powder – Half teaspoon
- Pepper powder – Half teaspoon
- Cinnamon – A piece
- Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder – Half teaspoon
- Garam Masala – Half teaspoon
- Kasuri Methi – 1 teaspoon
- Water – As needed
- Cream – Half cup
Method –
- In mushroom, remove the black part that is present inside it and then cut it. Chop onion, garlic, ginger and chili finely. Cut tomatoes and blend them in a blender.
- Keep the tomato pulp aside. Heat a pan and put oil to it. Add cumin seeds and cinnamon. Let them splutter. Put onion, garlic, ginger and chili.
- Fry till the raw smell disappears. Then put tomato pulp to it. Sauté till the tomato turns mushy.
- Add salt, turmeric powder, chili powder, pepper powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and garam masala to it. Mix properly so that all the ingredients get combined.
- Add water and stir. Then put cream and mix well. Add mushroom pieces and mix properly. Cover the pan and simmer for few minutes.
- Remove cover and put kasuri methi. Mix well. Serve it hot.

Mushroom Pepper Fry
This is an appetizing dish of mushroom with a spicy taste. You can eat this with rice, chapati, paratha and poori.
Ingredients –
- Mushroom – 1 packet
- Oil – 2 tablespoons
- Salt – According to taste
- Pepper powder – 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
- Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon
- Fennel seeds (Saunf) – 1 teaspoon
- Capsicum – 1
- Onion – Half
- Ginger – Small piece
- Chili – 1 or 2
- Curry leaves – Some
Method –
- In mushroom, remove the black part that is present inside it and then cut it. Chop onion, capsicum, ginger and chili finely.
- Heat a pan and put oil to it. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, fennel seeds. Let them splutter. Put curry leaves, chili, ginger and onion to it.
- Sauté well and fry till the raw smell disappears. Put capsicum and sauté for few minutes. Then add mushroom pieces and fry well.
- Cook till mushroom pieces release moisture. Put salt and pepper powder to it. Mix properly so that all the ingredients get combined.
- Cook till masala coats mushroom pieces. Serve it hot.
