Yummy Indian fry recipes to try out

We like eating fry dishes in lunch and dinner. Fry adds excitement to a meal. There are some fries that we love to eat. What if you could make them at home? You can make those fry dishes any time.

Broccoli Soybean Fry

This is a healthy dish made from broccoli and soybean. They are sauteed with herbs and spices which makes it delicious. You can eat this with rice, chapati, paratha.

Ingredients –

  1. Broccoli – 1 or 2 depending on the size
  2. Soybean chunks – 1 cup
  3. Capsicum – 1
  4. Chilli – 1
  5. Garlic – Few cloves
  6. Onion – 1
  7. Tomato – 1
  8. Salt – To taste
  9. Turmeric powder – Half teaspoon
  10. Chilli powder – Half teaspoon
  11. Coriander powder – Half teaspoon
  12. Cumin powder – Half teaspoon
  13. Garam Masala – Half teaspoon
  14. Kasuri Methi – Half teaspoon
  15. Coriander leaves – 2 tablespoons
  16. Water – Half cup
  17. Oil – 3 tablespoons
  18. Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
  19. Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon

Method –

  1. Capsicum is not an essential ingredient for this dish. You can skip it if you want. I used Capsicum of red color. You can use Capsicum of any color.
  2. Soak Soybean chunks in hot water for 1 hour. Then squeeze them and keep aside. Chop the Broccoli, chilli, onion, tomato, garlic and capsicum.
  3. Heat a pan and put oil to it. Then add cumin seeds and mustard seeds to it. Let them splutter.
  4. Put onion, garlic, chilli and fry well. Fry till the raw smell disappears. Then add tomato to it. Saute very well. Cook till the tomato becomes mushy.
  5. Put capsicum and soybean to it. Then add salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala and kasuri methi to it. Mix very well.
  6. Put broccoli and mix well. Broccoli takes time to get cooked, so add water to it. Stir and then cover the pan for few minutes.
  7. Check whether Broccoli has cooked or not. Mix well on high flame. Then garnish it with coriander leaves.

Lahsuni Bhindi Fry

This is a delicious dish made from Okra sauteed with garlic and spices. It is a delight for those who like eating Okra or garlic. You can eat this with rice, chapati, paratha.

Ingredients –

  1. Okra – 200 grams
  2. Garlic – 1
  3. Onion – 1 large
  4. Oil – 2 tablespoons
  5. Chilli – 1
  6. Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
  7. Salt – To taste
  8. Turmeric powder – Half teaspoon
  9. Chilli powder – Half teaspoon
  10. Coriander powder – Half teaspoon
  11. Chaat Masala – Half teaspoon
  12. Garam Masala – Half teaspoon
  13. Asafoetida (Hing) – A pinch
  14. Coriander leaves – 2 tablespoons

Method –

  1. Wash the Okra and dry them by wiping. Cut each Okra vertically into 4 slices. Thinly slice the onion. Chop garlic and chilli finely.
  2. Heat a pan and put oil to it. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle. Then add asafoetida and garlic.
  3. Put onion to it and fry till the raw smell disappears. Then add chilli and okra. Put salt and mix very well. Cover the pan for few minutes.
  4. Check whether the okra has cooked or not. Put turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, chaat masala and garam masala to it.
  5. Stir well and cook till the oil starts separating and okra has cooked completely.
  6. If you find okra sticking to the pan then sprinkle some water. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Soybean Makhana Fry

This is a tasty dish made from soybean and makhana (fox nut) sauteed with herbs and spices. You can eat this with rice, chapati, paratha.

  1. Soybean chunks – 1 cup
  2. Makhana – 1 cup
  3. Garlic – Few cloves
  4. Onion – 1
  5. Salt – To taste
  6. Turmeric powder – Half teaspoon
  7. Chilli powder – Half teaspoon
  8. Coriander powder – Half teaspoon
  9. Cumin powder – Half teaspoon
  10. Garam Masala – Half teaspoon
  11. Coriander leaves – 2 tablespoons
  12. Oil – 2 tablespoons
  13. Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
  14. Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon
  15. Chilli – 1

Method –

  1. Take a bowl and soak Soybean chunks in hot water for 1 hour. Then squeeze them and keep aside.
  2. In another bowl, soak Makhana in hot water for half an hour. Then drain the water and keep the makhana aside.
  3. Chop the onion, chilli and garlic finely. Heat a pan and put oil to it. Then add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Let them splutter.
  4. Put onion, chilli and garlic to it. Fry well till the raw smell disappears. Then add soybean chunks and makhana.
  5. Put salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and garam masala to it. Mix very well.
  6. Simmer for few minutes. Then garnish it with coriander leaves.

Cabbage Fry

This is a healthy and appetizing dish made from cabbage sauteed in herbs and spices. You can eat this with rice, chapati, paratha.

  1. Cabbage – 1
  2. Chilli – 1
  3. Potato – 1
  4. Ginger – 1-inch piece
  5. Coriander leaves – 2 tablespoons
  6. Oil – 2 tablespoons
  7. Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
  8. Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon
  9. Asafoetida (Hing) – A pinch
  10. Salt – To taste
  11. Turmeric powder – Half teaspoon
  12. Chilli powder – Half teaspoon
  13. Coriander powder – Half teaspoon
  14. Cumin powder – Half teaspoon
  15. Garam Masala – Half teaspoon
  16. Kasuri Methi – Half teaspoon

Method –

  1. Chop cabbage, potato, chilli and ginger finely. Medium sized cabbage is preferred for this fry.
  2. Heat a pan and put oil to it. Then add cumin seeds and mustard seeds to it. Let them splutter. Put asafoetida, ginger and chilli to it.
  3. Fry for some time. Then add potato and cabbage. Cover the pan for few minutes and let them get cooked.
  4. Put salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala and kasuri methi to it. Mix very well.
  5. Make sure that the spices coat cabbage and potato. Add little water to it and simmer for few minutes.
  6. After the cabbage gets cooked completely, fry on high flame. Then switch off the gas and garnish with coriander leaves.

Potato Makhana Fry

  9. Turmeric powder – Half teaspoon
  10. Chilli powder – Half teaspoon

Method –

  1. Boil the potatoes, then peel and chop them. Chop chilli, garlic and onion finely.
  2. In a bowl, soak Makhana in hot water for half an hour. Then drain the water and keep the makhana aside.
  3. Heat a pan and put oil to it. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle. Then add onion, garlic and chilli.
  4. Put potato to it and fry well. Then add makhana. Put salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and cumin powder to it.
  5. Mix very well and make sure that the spices have coated potato and makhana. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Corn Fry

Sweet corn is lip-smacking and its fry tastes delicious. You can eat this with rice, chapati, paratha.

Ingredients –

  1. Sweet Corn – 2 cups
  2. Tomato – 1
  3. Capsicum – 1
  4. Oil – 1 tablespoon
  5. Salt – 1 teaspoon
  6. Pepper powder – 1 teaspoon

Method –

  1. For sweet corn, you can use either frozen sweet corn or take out corn from a maize. Boil the corn and let it cool.
  2. Chop capsicum and tomato finely. Heat a pan and put oil to it.
  3. Add capsicum and fry for few minutes. Then add tomato and saute for some time.
  4. Put corn and fry well. Then add salt and pepper powder. Mix very well so that the fry gets cooked completely.
