Tom Cruise brings ‘The Mummy’ to life

Tom Cruise, the guy who has never failed to blow our minds is once again all set to take us on a thrilling tour of the mysterious realms of the ancient world with his new movie “The Mummy”. The trailer of the movie, which is a reboot of The Mummy franchise, has just hit the web. Scheduled to be released in June, 2017 the “The Mummy” is also the first installment of the Universal Monster Series, which just like DC and Marvel is going to be an interconnected cinematic universe with a number of reboots of the original series of horror, thriller and science fiction movies made by Universal Studious during the first half of the 20th century. The first Mummy movie was released in 1932, almost 85 years ago. Technology has moved light years ahead since then, so this reboot ride facilitated by the high end CGI techniques is going to be legendary.

Plot of the Movie

The trailer did not give away much though. But the plot goes like this: a group of military personnel go to someplace where they should not go and they set free an ancient evil named Ahamanet (Sofia Boutella), and Nick Morton (Tom Cruise) has to save the world from this Mummy threat. The appearance of Ahmanet is kind of terrifying. In the trailer Tom Cruise’s character can be heard saying “I saw her (he must be talking about Ahmanet), she is real.” Sofia Boutella played Jaylah in “Star Trek Beyond” (2016). Russel Crowe’s presence surely adds extra excitement to the anticipation that’s already started growing. Crowe is playing the role of Dr Henry Jekill.
