Bollywood has recently seen an influx of new actors and actresses. With films seeing a new era of stories, that of digitalization and free press, more and more actresses are coming up on the screen, acting in roles that we can only describe as meaningful and titular to the current scenario. One of these up and coming actresses that seem to have taken Bollywood and the music industry by storm is Tara Sutaria.
Career
Tara Sutaria, 24, began her debut in the Hindi film industry with the fan-favourite film – Student of the Year 2. She, however, is already wildly popular from her successful stints on Disney India as Jassie from Oye Jassie and as Vinnie in The Suite Life of Karan and Kabir.
Tara has been, since the end of her stint as a video jockey for Disney Channel India, recording songs in India and outside the country for films. She has since recorded and performed solo concerts in London, Tokyo, Mumbai and Lavasa. Tara Sutaria was also among the two actresses selected to play a part in the live-action remake of Disney’s Aladdin. However, she ended up losing the role to Hollywood actress Naomi Scott. She has now made her Bollywood debut with Punit Malhotra’s Student of the Year 2 as Tiger Shroff’s childhood sweetheart.
She has completed two films till now, the first being SOTY2 and the second being Milap Zaveri’s Marjaavan. In the movie Marjaavan, she plays Zoya, a mute music teacher and stars alongside Siddharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Rakul Preet Singh. While Tara’s role is admirable, the film wasn’t received well by critics and described as “loud, overcooked and overdone”.

Upcoming Films
With two movies under her belt, Sutaria features next in Milan Luthria’s Tadap, the supposed sequel to 2014’s psycho-analytical thriller, Ek Villian. She shall be starring aside newcomer Ahan Shetty. The film shall also be featuring well-known names such as Aditya Roy Kapoor, John Abraham and Disha Patani. The filming for the movie is still underway, and the trailer will be released subsequently.
She has also recently debuted in her music video alongside Siddharth Malhotra for the re-release and 2020 rendition of Mazakali, from the 2009 film Delhi 6. The music video seems to be a stand-alone and yet an outtake from her second movie Marjaavan. Despite the upbeat lyrics and romantic tones, the song has been majorly slammed, by critics, composers and the public alike. Trolls and outright critics had come out to make fun of the poorly thought out remake. Articles report that Youtube has disabled the ability for a viewer to view the likes and dislikes for the video.

Personal Life
Sutaria, despite her proclivity for the theatrical side of the stage, has an unbridled interest in singing. Along with a history of having learnt music from a very young age, she has performed for the musical side of the stage as Sandy from the musical remake of Grease.
Her musical stints have taken her around the globe. She has even performed solo concerts in some of the biggest cities in the world like New York, Mumbai and Lavasa. On various interviews, she has also vocally expressed her desire to continue with the musical aspect of her journey. She has also said that the entire experience with the film industry has been a dream. However she’d like to pursue her musical passions more and record songs for films and on her own too. She has also expressed an interest in the other aspects of filmmaking and said that she looked forward to directing her movie someday.
Relationships
Pretty close-lipped, Sutaria once described herself as a pretty shy person and that while everyone in the film industry soon changes from the conditions, she probably wouldn’t due to her nature. Her shy nature is also probably the reason the details of her love life seem to be few and far between. During the shooting of Marjaavan, there were quite a few rumours that she was dating her then co-star Siddharth Malhotra, which is yet unknown. Now, however, she is rumoured to be dating Aadar Jain.
Aadar Jain despite the surname is pretty high up in the B-town; he is the cousin of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. Tara Sutaria and Aadar Jain were first suspected to be together after they were spotted hanging out with one another. There isn’t much from either of them regarding the matter. Tara has, however, neither confirmed nor denied their relationship. However, an interview with the Deccan Chronicle seems to tell us that they aren’t precisely just friends either.
Past Relationship Status
According to the sources, they first met through a couple of friends and seemed to hit it off pretty well. They also seem to hang out at parties and meetups rather than closed off restaurants where they say the paparazzi are bound to make their way.
With regards to her previous rumours with Marjaavan co-star Siddharth Malhotra, she recently divulged that there wasn’t anything going on as such. She has also called him good boyfriend material. She also said that they lived quite close together and spent time together often. However she emphasised that they were good friends and nothing more.
She was previously with Rohan Mehra, veteran actor Vinod Mehra’s son. There seem to be a lot of Instagram pictures which also point to the same. With adorable captions and numerous photos taken together, we remain speculating the nature of their relationship.
Regardless of who she is seeing, we are sure that she is one of the faces we shall need to look out for in the movies to come. The Bollywood industry is only expanding, and we have new faces every movie. We’re sure Tara shall also be bringing something new and fresh to the stage each time.
