All you need to know about red spots or redness on the skin

Red spots occur due to many reasons, one of them being due to an allergy. The skin is delicate and hence is prone to various problems. We tend to suffer from rashes, blemishes or even red spots due to these problems. Fret not, below are some of the things which you can try to get rid of red spots on the face or body.

What causes Red Spots

Red spots can occur due to many factors such as acne, pollution, allergies among a few. Some of the reasons have mentioned below. We would be discussing some of those reasons in the list given below.
Red spots can be due to birthmarks in some people. They might have a red scar or a small red dot in any part of their body, notably their hands. These birthmarks vary from people to people when it comes to its shape. They do not need immediate attention and occur due to abnormal blood vessels.
Acne is one of the most common causes of red spots. Acne can be caused due to pollution or oily skin.
At times these red spots can also be due to boils. A boil occurs due to a skin infection, mild in nature.
Most people suffer from an allergic reaction and hence red spots are quite common. These allergic reactions lead to red spots which may or may not be itchy in nature.

Before heading over to a dermatologist, all worried, use these simple methods at home to get rid of red spots at home. If none of the methods works, then head over to a dermatologist.

  • Use lukewarm water instead of hot or boiling water to wash your face or hair.
  • Avoid rubbing the red spot.Use a mild face wash and shampoo.
  • Don’t use any cosmetic which might have caused the red spot.
  • Avoid scratching the area affected.
  • Use anti-dandruff shampoo regularly.

Use Coconut Oil to get rid of red spots

Pure coconut oil is widely used for plenty of remedies related to skin and hair. It also helps to fight hair loss and hair fall. Coconut oil helps to rejuvenate the skin and heals damaged skin cells.

Using Coconut Oil to get rid of Red Spots or redness on the face

  1. Use a tablespoon of pure coconut oil (100% pure).
  2. Wash your face with lukewarm water and pat it dry with a clean towel.
  3. Apply a tablespoon of coconut oil on the affected area and leave it for a duration of about 5 minutes.
  4. Don’t forget to massage your face whilst applying the coconut oil.
  5. Use these steps before going off to bed at night.
  6. Allow the oil to dry overnight.
  7. Wash your face with cold water the next day.

Use Apple Cider Vinegar to get rid of Red Spots

Apple Cider Vinegar is a great natural remedy when it comes to fighting skin related problems. It helps to eliminate skin related problems and viruses which might cause skin problems. Apple Cider Vinegar has organic acids which don’t let the skin scar due to red spots or acne. It is also used to hydrate the skin as it helps to prevent the skin from drying.

  1. Mix three parts of water to a part of Apple Cider Vinegar.
  2. Wash your face with face wash and lukewarm water.

  1. Take a teaspoon of green tea.
  2. Steep this teaspoon of green tea in boiling water for 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. Let it cool down.
  4. Using a cotton ball, apply this mixture on the affected area of the face or body.
  5. Wash off the affected area using cold water and pat dry using a clean towel.
  6. Repeat as required.
