#He was born on December 11, 1969 in Mayiladuthurai, Tamil Nadu. He was raised up in Chennai studying at the Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School. He was taught play chess at the age of 6 by his mother. His mother used to help him solve chess puzzle that he found difficult.

# He might be the greatest chess player in this era, but he believes the late Bobby Fischer as the best of all time.

#At the age of 15, Anand became the youngest Indian to win the title of International Master.

# He is a language enthusiast and knows three foreign languages; French, German and Spanish apart from Tamil and English.

# This man has won the World Chess Championship five times and was World No.1 from 2007 to 2013.
