Jaimie Alexander was born on March 12, 1984, in Greenville, South Carolina. She moved with her family to Grapevine, Texas at the age of four. She is an American actress who also starred in NBC series, Blindspot, and in 2014, was ranked #76 on ‘Maxim’ magazine hot 100 women list. Alexander once said that she wasn’t scared of snakes or spiders. But has a strong fear of mice.

CHILDHOOD:

As a child, acting as a hobby for Jaimie Alexander. She took theatre for fun in her graduate school but was kicked out because she could not sing. So, she went to sports. She was in her high school wrestling team. At the age of 17, she had to substitute for her friend at a meeting with the scouting agency. Here she met her manager, Randy James. He then sent her some scripts. After her graduation, she went to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career.

CAREER:

She kickstarted her career in 2013, from the low budget, award-winning film “The Other Side”, where she was cast in the leading role. According to the movie’s commentary, initially, alexander was at the audition to help out by reading against the male actors. But the director Gregg Bishop decided to cast her in the lead role. This was followed by her role in her second movie “the Squirrel Trap”. Where she played the role of Sarah, the love interest of a socially introverted lead character played by Keith Staley. She also appeared as a controversial character Caitlin Porter in the series “Watch Over Me”.

She had her second lead role in 2006 in a horror movie, “Rest Stop” followed by her lead role in another horror movie “Hallowed Ground”. Alexander had her most famous role so far in the ABC Family Television show- “Kyle XY” as Jesse in 2007. She plays the role of a troubled show-off with superhuman powers trying to find her way in the real world. Her role increased her fan followers who wanted a spin-off show for her character, with the increasing cooperation followed by her romance with the male counterpart, Kyle.

In 2010, she had been cast in an independent comedy-drama film, “Loosies” with co-starring “peter Facinelli”. In 2011, alexander had her biggest role when she was cast as the lady Sif (warrior goddess) in the Marvel blockbuster, Thor. Followed up in 2013, when she repeated her role in Thor: The Dark World.

In 2015, she starred in the NBC series, “Blindspot” as Jane Doe. Alexander also appeared in the movie, “Savannah” (2013) about a real-life aristocrat who starts an unexpected partnership with a freed slave.

She also worked in “The Last Stand” alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, where she was portrayed as a deputy sheriff, Sarah Torrance.

Other than in movies, Jaimie Alexander also appeared in the song “Save You” by Matthew Perryman Jones in 2009.

In 2011, she worked with the writer/director, Gregg Bishop for “The Birds of Anger”. The film was based on the mobile game, Rovio’s “Angry Birds” which is the best-selling mobile game. It was told in the style of Alfred Hitchcock’s film, “The Birds” (1963).

Alexander met the actor Peter Facinelli on her set of “Loosies”. Who she later started dating in 2012. In 2015, they became engaged. But in 2016, the engagement was called off.

In 2012, alexander slipped off the metal staircase on a rainy day on the set of Thor: The Dark World. Due to which she suffered from several injuries including a slipped disc in the thoracic spine. Her left shoulder dislocated and she had a tear in her back muscle connecting to the vertebrae. The accident took her out of filming for over a month.

In March 2018, her appendix ruptured and she was hospitalized. But later recovered.

Along with this, while working for “Blindspot”, alexander received many injuries. Which included ruptured discs due to being water-boarded. Slip disc, dislocated right shoulder, broken left, and right foot, right index finger broken. Her jaw also dislocated and broke her two toes also. This was accompanied by other injuries that she didn’t disclose.
