It has its headquarters in  the city of Bengaluru which is the capital  of Indian State  Karnataka.

Its number of locations are 1,556 as on 17 October 2015.Areas served by CCD  are the countries of India, Austria, Czech Republic, Malaysia and Egypt.

The other famous coffee outlets are McDonalds Dunkin, Donuts Coffee.

13. India And Coffee

Coffee is a famous beverage in India.We have our own Coffee Board.The Coffee Board of India , an organization managed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the government of India was set up by parliamentary act of 1942 to promote coffee production in India .

India ranks 6th in top ten coffee producers as of 2014.Out of the total 10 coffee productions India accounts for 0.3(Millions of Tonnes) out of 8.8.

Coffee is produced in the hilly regions of Southern India under monsoon rainfall conditions.Out of all the coffee producing states Karnataka alone accounts for 71% followed by Kerala 21% and Tamil Nadu 5% of production of 8200 tonnes.

Out of  250,000 coffee growers in India 98% of them are small growers.In all around 80% of coffee produced is exported and most of the coffee is shipped through Suez Canal.

In 2004, Indian Coffee with the brand name “Tata Coffee” had the distinction of winning three gold medals at the Grand Cus De Café Competition held in Paris.In India the other  famous brands of Coffee are Nestle Nescafe and Bru Coffee.

Coffee is served in many ways.At some places it is served hot while at other places it is served cold.At many places iced coffee is also quite popular.People usually prefer hot coffee in winters and cold coffee in summers.In summers coffee shakes are also quite popular with people.

Coffee Arabica normally contains about half the caffeine of Coffee Robusta. A Coffee arabica bean containing very little caffeine was discovered in Ethiopia in 2004.

Coffee caffeine content depends on how it is prepared. Brewed coffee has 80–135 mg caffeine in it. Drip coffee has 115–175 mg caffeine in it.Espresso coffee has 100 mg caffeine in it.

In olden days coffee houses were popular among people. Travellers introduced coffee as a beverage to England during the mid-17th century.In England previously coffee was consumed mainly for its supposed medicinal properties.

Coffee houses became quite popular in the  17th century and in the 18th century.It was a place where people met to have conversations personal as well as professional. Commerce was done while drinking coffee. Coffeehouses not only  also served tea  and coffee but also chocolate.
