CORNITOS is run by GreenDotHealth Foods Ltd. which is a segment of the massive “Globe Capacitors” Group of companies. Green Dot was started in 2009 to make an entry into the FMCG Sector. Green Dot is a part of the GC Group of companies which is a family-run business.
After substantial market research across the sphere, the group inaugurated in 2009. A few hurdles came in the way but CORNITOS has now been just the ticket and are expanding expeditiously.Nachos is the ultimate product of the company which is prefabricated and encased in-house. The company initiated with four flavours and have now increased to nine. The manufacturing of other products like salsa and cheese dips, gherkins, jalapeno have been outsourced too.
Cornitos in the duration of five years has come up as one of the key-brands in the Indian snack market with INR 24 Crores as the last year’s turnover. CORNITOS is a well-known and undefeatable brand in the countries like Dubai, China, USA, Sri-Lanka and Nepal.
* Manufacturing –
Cornitos’s state of the art food processing unit is solely labor-saving and self-operating in a pure and hygenic abode. The manufacturing unit is expanded across an area of 6000sqm at Roorkee, Haridwar Dist. Uttrakhand with a capacity to manufacure 250 kg per hour of corn tortilla chips with a packing capacity of 500 kg per hour.
In India, Nachos is not considered as a desperate demand but the research showed that the need for such a product is a premium segment. This idea of production was targeted and by focussing on this project Cornitos is penetrating down to the roots of the success, as well. The new variation is priced at INR 15 Rupees.
- Distribution Network –
The mother-ship brand of the entire network of the GC Group, Cornitos has a pan-Indian presence with the products striking the stores in all major cities. Across the country, Cornitos products are available in some of the eminent stores like Spencer’s , More , Hypercity, Auchaan, Big-Bazaar , Nilgiris, Namdharis etc.
Cornitos products can be grabbed too on some of the prime airlines including SpiceJet , JetAirways and Indigo. The taste of the delectable crunch can be felt with rapture also in some of the major multiplexes, airports and in Cafe Coffee Day and Aubon Pain Cafe outlets. They also export the products to various countries across the globe, including USA, China, Nepal, Singapore, Nigeria, Ghana and Sri-Lanka and the company is all set to launch the products in Thailand, Korea and Bangladesh too. The venture can also boast of being one of the few companies in India to export FMCG product to China.
In the emerging period of the business, the response from the audience wasn’t very encouraging. the company worked upon the flaws and underwent a rebranding exercise in 2011. The idea concerning the new packaging and a new logo proved to be a major hit in communicating better and taking the product ahead.
