MG Marg is one of the awesome shopping and cultural activity streets in Gangtok. M.G Road is one of the fascinating places to spend few nights, there winding side alleys hide some unexpected gems, a pleasant place to take a stroll. The road and the area around it has transformed rapidly over the years. It is now more like a long stretch of open mall and boulevard square where locals and tourists take leisure stroll.

Most of the tourists travel to Gangtok for the Sikkim mountain views. Views which we failed to find in September. If you plan for snapping Kangchenjunga’s snowy peaks comes between October and June. There was no snow during yours visit but a whole lot of cloud (perfect for the clouds lover). We did take the few excursions. Rumtek monastery and Pal Zurmang monastery during a local tours of Sikkim. The extensive tour was to Changu Lake (need permits in advance) where the drive was in fact more exciting; controlled the landslides and unique local life amongst the highlights. Another tour was an overnight stay at the Temi Tea Gardens and also the tea factory tour. If you plan this tour then it is a best to stay on site at the Cherry Resort.
