Being A Woman

Being a woman myself,

Is an honour I feel,

Every soul in which is a truth,

And not a character amidst the reels.

It is the story of every woman,

Who carved their own destinies,

Believed womanhood is a pride,

And buried alive all their miseries.

It is the story of every woman,

Who makes points of defying aspects,

Judges what is good and evil,

And not blindly follows her man like dummies and puppets.

It is the story of every woman,

Who believes ‘Bad behaviour is the monopoly of men’,

She portrays her feminist views on emancipation,

And makes people believe all other issues are a mere vain.

It is the story of every woman,

Who understands the grave secret,

Of the sword of unrealistic expectations that beheads her,

Is placed not only by men but equally by women.

It is the story of every woman,

Who believes ‘female bad characters’,

Are the ‘keys to doors they need to open’,

And mirrors where more than just a pretty face is reflected.

It is the story of every woman,

Who are surrounded by millions of women lacking empowerment.

But it is not the story of every woman,

Who raises her hand with acceptance.

It is not the story of every woman,

Who foresees possibilities amongst hurdles.

It is not the story of every woman,

Who does it all in the context of being a woman.
