  1. Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage:

It is an orphanage, nursery and incarcerated breeding ground for wild Asian Elephants located at Pinnawala. The orphanage opens at 08.30 a.m. The caretakers then feed milk to the elephants. By 10 a.m, all the elephants are taken for a bath in a nearby lake.

  1. Spice Garden:

At the spice garden, you will discover different spices which Sri Lanka is famous for. They are also used in Ayurveda medicines. After you see the process of how they are grown, there is also a 15minutes of relaxing foot/back massage done by using the oil made by the spices.

  1. Peradeniya Botanical Garden:

The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres. It takes approximately 2 hours to explore the entire garden. There are more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees.

  1. Temple of the tooth:

It is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It houses the tooth of the relic of Lord Buddha. It was the responsibility of the monarch to safeguard the relic and hence over the years the custody of relic became to represent the right to rule. Therefore, ruling monarchs built the tooth relic temples quite close to their royal residence. It is one of the most beautiful temples in Sri Lanka.

  1. Madu River boat ride:

If you are a nature lover, you can explore the mangrove environment here. Also, you will be able to see various endemic species of fauna and flora. In between, there is a break for paid fish pedicure for 30 minutes. This ride is very calm and pleasant and relaxes your mind.

  1. Turtle Hatchery:

It is maintained for the survival of Sea turtles for the future generation. Olive Ridley Turtle, Loggerhead Turtle, Green Turtle, Hawksbill Turtle and Leatherhead Turtle are the rare varieties of Sea Turtles that are destroyed by man day by day. Regarding this they started to save Sea Turtles in 1986 and up to now they have succeeded to attain the goal gradually.
